Brandon McCrory 0.415 oz per 1000 sq ft is half of the yearly max (0.83 oz per 1k sq ft) and that is the amount listed on the label for 6 months of coverage.
Cool Season - Tenacity Can be used for Pre and Post emergent and great when renovating. Granular and liquid apps of pre emergent are game changers for your lawn though.
Jason G I’m a slow learner and don’t follow directions well 🤷🏻♂️. There was some talk about liking other comments. Well I agree with tenacity and I also have cool season grass. Oh and Jason G is cool so I just want to ride his coat tails here in the comments. 😉
Granular prodiamine in my TTTF in MO. This year I used HJE 15-0-7 with .37% prodiamine, split app at 3lbs/1000sq ft, so also got about half pound of N per thousand with the preemergent.
Love this guy. So cool so see your bulbs up and blooming. My bulbs are quite far from this stage. Amazing that your lawn will look awesome after seeing it in its current brown state
Hey, it really is my pleasure. Head on over to my channel for some Scott Bonnar reel action. Noticed you mention them before so thought it may be in your wheelhouse. Have a tip top you beaut ripper of a weekend cobber. 👌🏼
I enjoy the content you Tools post on the Tube! My seven year old son really likes your intro as I often hear him say, “Let’s goooo, let’s goooooo, let’s gooo-ooooo” when we’re working in the yard. 😆 The Andersons Barricade DG (48%) did a nice job preventing winter weeds from sprouting in my Bermuda lawn. I recently completed my first split application for the upcoming summer growing season, so we’ll see how it looks come June and July.
Russ Johnston Thanks so much! I love hearing that! Email thelawntools@gmail.com an address where I can send some stickers. I think your split app will work amazingly well! 👍🏼
Depending on what I have going on. I use Granular Dimension and Prodiamine. Recently I have used Quinclorac and Tenacity on project yards. Most of the yards I do are Tall Fescue, including my own.
Thanks for the videos. We used prodiamine granular. Going to use Speedzone to spot spray. Cool season TTTF/KBG. Good luck with your project’s. I’ll be watching and learning.
@@samuelasamoah6906 Yes. With a normal sized yard a bottle of Celcius could last several years. It's best to find a friend and split the cost if possible. I think there is a two year shelf life on the product. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I have Tall Fescue grass. I have used Scott's Weed & Feed for 20 years and it has worked fine. I also use Scott's Halts. Then I use Ortho Weed B Gone for spot spraying. My lawn has nearly no weeds. I cut it at 3 1/2 inches to crowd out weeds. I never worry about seed not germinating as I look for bare spots and take a long screwdriver to poke holes to drop grass seed in even after applying my Scott's. They always sprout and grow and fill in bare spots. I do spray straight Iron onto some weeds and that also works. Some weeds even Weed B Gone does not kill.
Prodiamine WDG 65 in March and October, dithiopyr liquid April and November. I spot spray Drive XLR8 for crabgrass. Gonna skip dithiopyr this spring and try Pennant Magnum.
I did granular prodiamine last year. It worked really well. However in the interest of cost savings, moved to liquid this year. I’m gonna split app the liquid in my TTTF, so only .18 oz/1k so far. Another app around May.
It’s going to be an awesome season! If you’re looking for an amazing trip, we have a spare bedroom that is perfect for some tools! I just used the Lesco crabgrass preventer from Home Depot. We’ll see how it worked.
With the warm winter this year, I figured I probably needed Dimension for preemergent. I agree the concentrate is pretty expensive and I don't need it every year. Vigoro makes a bag that provides max single application rate for 2500 sqft for $15 bucks. Double the coverage area for split apps at half rate each. Since I only had 3000 sqft to cover, 15 bucks seemed like the right choice. Put it down mid-February.
Spectracide 4-way herbicide +crabgrass. It’s a post-emergent that will kill most common broadleaf and grassy weeds in cool season lawns. Safe for Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and PRG blends.
Good info. I suspect novice / beginner for the most part will not want to spray. Price may also be a factor depending on lot size. Key to the pre emergent is timing. Granular is fine and HD carries Lesco. Site1, Ewing Irrigation , Reinders, Turf companies carry a wide product array and they are knowledgeable . Most of their customers are Professionals but they will assist the pro-sumer
MSMA... love the sprayer! I’ve gotta build a frame/wheels for mine.. the spreader I use is too tall and i don’t like how top heavy mine is. Need to get the tank lower to the ground.
Love that John Ware sprayer setup but, WHOA that baby is pricey!!! I'll probably have to stick to my battery powered backpack sprayer for my little 7k sq ft. Super jealous though. Good video, LT!
Cool season tall fescue. Had great luck with Prodiamine last year and should be putting some down in the next few weeks. Can I borrow your sprayer 😀 Great video and great idea for this year !!!
I have/had a yard full of mature crabgrass and I'm well on the way to controlling but now I have a full yard of dead mature crabgrass. Should I let this naturally decompose during the fall/winter or should I dethatch after it dies to pull it out?
I didn't lay a pre-emergent before the winter and now have a ton of weeds. I know a pre-emergent won't work on those, although I'm still wanting to lay some down. Any advice for killing the weeds that have grown in? Bermuda hybrid grass, out in West Texas.
Roy Solis Celsius and msm turf are popular for Bermuda. Cover most weeds. You still want to put down pre emergent ASAP. Maybe even before your weed killer app so nothing new pops up after you kill
Greg Huizen They have a video on their website but you literally just lift the tank out and set it down and disconnect the switch cable. They have a video on their website. gregsonclark.com/collections/spreader-mate
Wouldn't Tenacity be okay going down at the time of seeding to help prevent weeds but not hurt the germination of the grass? Or does that only work on cool season stuff? Sorry still learning myself
That crabgrass germination map is going to have to be redone due to climate change, this year temperatures have been running at least 5 degrees above the 10 year average.
Ok folks! Comment your favorite herbicide! Specify your grass type and specify which weed (if it is for one in particular). Thanks everyone!!
What's your app rate for twice a year?
