The Hidden Story Behind the Ancient City of Babylon
The Babylonian story is one of the famous stories mentioned in Islamic tradition, especially related to the ancient civilization of Babylonia (Babylon) located in Mesopotamia. This story involves prophets, heretics, and the influence of magic, as mentioned in the Koran.
"And they followed what the demons read during the reign of Solomon. And Solomon did not disbelieve, but it was the demons who disbelieved. They taught magic to people and what was revealed to two angels in the land of Babylon, namely Harut and Marut. In fact, neither of them taught (anything) to anyone before saying, 'Indeed, we are only a test (for you), so do not disbelieve.' So they learned from the two (angels) what (can) separate a husband from his wife..." (QS. Al-Baqarah: 102)
