This song makes me cry. It reminds me of a quote that Kaneki said, "Why is it that the beautiful things are entwined more deeply with death than with life?"
I don't even know if someone is still wandering around here. TG manga is now over and, to be honest, it's been a long travel, we have seen suffer, we have seen hope, and the perseverance that made us survive on the darkest nights. We have seen an empty person become someone imperfect, trying to find his reason to fight, being punished most of the times. We have seen them all growing, Yomo, Touka, Urie, Hinami, Yonebayashi, Akira, Suzuya, Takizawa, Tsukiyama ,Amon, Shirazu, Tooru, and yeah, Kaneki too. They felt more than 100 times and kept figthing even from the lowest places, filled with despair. Kaneki didn't made a history about sadness at all. They didn't made a history about disgrace. They created little hopes, those hopes grown up with every step and even every loss, and at the end, those little pieces of light created a bright tomorrow in that melancoholy city. That is what TG is about, and that's the only thing that i've needed to love every single part of this story. Thanks Ishida Sui. Goodbye, Tokyo Ghoul.
I don't know what it is about this song. The music, the tempo, the lyrics filled with nostalgia and sadness but also hope for a better future, I don't know but I really like it. While watching the TG I didn't pay all the attention to this song as it deserves but now listening to the full version translated it's even more haunting so I'll have to keep listening on repeat :)

The start - 'kisetsu wa tsugitsugi shindeiku' - 'the seasons *dying* one after another' The end - 'kisetsu wa tsugitsugi ikikaeru' - 'the seasons *reviving* one after another'
A poem to kaneki My dearest kaneki, Will you ever find happiness someday...or never? Will you be able to look hide straight in the face with your kakugan without breaking down? Will you smile again like you used to or will you still frown Will you run away from your past or will it pull you back in slowly... Will those flower buds you long to see bloom, bloom or will it shrivel up and die? Did your mother say was true or was it a lie? Will you ever see the path of light or will you forever walk in darkness? Will you or will you not...find happiness? Edit: I wrote this before Tokyo Ghoul:Re came out!
What they want to convey through this song is that even if you think you have nothing, don't break down and let your past haunt you. Keep moving forward instead because now you have nothing to lose
I remember when an episode ended really emotionally... Might have been the last one, cant remember. But anyways this song starts playing right after and I bawl my eyes out.

Honestly, this is why i prefer the original japanese as opposed to the english cover with the exception of littlejaynecakes. What i loved the most about the song is that the lyric is very uplifting and inspirational. The song tell us that no matter how horrible life is, we have to keep on living no matter what, facing life challenge with your head up straight. Eventuall is all will pass amd you will enjoy the bright fufure. As opposed to most english cover lyric where the song is all about whiny emo stuff.
The story and the characters are to strong to got over them. It was my first anime, and still my favourit of all time. Crying everytime when its over, i hope there get an sequel from his kids..
It is an ending song you dont want to end, its make me feel the past, the present, and future at the same time. Something to remind myself how my existence is doing so far and where I am leading to.
Wow............ listening to this after reading the final chapter really strikes the nostalgia of 5 years i have been following this manga/anime. I'm relieved and happy for where Tokyo ghoul has gotten in 7 years. Thank you Sui Ishida. Bye Tokyo Ghoul

DIFFERENT LYRICS The voices cry, as seasons die, the leaves fade to dust And one by one, they turn to run, so who can you trust? He pours just another glass And breathes in his empty past Above the moon is waning as I cave in to lust And weighing down, beneath a frown, the rain cries its tears Treading mud, heated blood, I’m drunk off their fears He wanders through every street A blank gaze filled with deceit Fabricating innocence with a conscience kept clear Barely there, empty stares, as if a shadow in the night Hesistant on what is right, questioning if this is life Crying loud, into the rain As my soul drowns in the pain Praying one day the clouds will break Shifting forth my withered fate Here we meet once again My yesterday damaged, time won’t ever mend Clutching to memories Days where I still believed Now all I do is break down deep inside And fighting back the urge to die Flowers growing anew Returning each season, through hardships they bloom Grief I try hard to hide Pain eating me alive Trapped in a nightmare that just never ends Wish the sun would shine again And one by one, they turn to run, but why race so fast? Tomorrow comes as I’m growing numb, and soon it’s the past That will to keep living on, I’m empty, the fire’s gone So why do I keep going by, I so constantly ask Who are you, who am I? Differences I can see defined Standing high on towers tall Still your hate can make them fall Crying loud, to all around A prayer masked by a horrid sound The agony left in my hands A dream you’ll never understand Here we meet once again My yesterday damaged, time won’t ever mend Clutching to memories Days where I still believed Now all I do is break down deep inside And fighting back the urge to die Flowers growing anew Returning each season, through hardships they bloom Grief I try hard to hide Pain eating me alive Trapped in a nightmare that just never ends Wish the sun would shine again Walking weighed down from the pain I drag along, the guilty chains Frowning as the sunlight fades Shackled by the sins I’ve made Don’t know, just where to go I’ve always been out on my own Staring at the path ahead My apprehension laced with dread Faintly, surging with new clarity Starting slow with timid strides Sudden warmth within my mind Lives discarded anyway Picking up the torn remains Left behind so long ago Maybe now I know Here we meet once again Our yesterday fading, so goodbye my friend Clutching to memories Reliving long lost dreams Although breathing in this life is always hard Looking back I’ve come so far Flowers falling away Descending and gleaming, reborn once they fade Grief I try hard to hide Still I am here, alive Hearing that song that just plays on again Shining bright the sun ascends And one by one, with the sun, the seasons bring life
Dayum this song is a poem, "Our flowers will wilt one day, our lives returning to the circle of life" this gives me so much relief like at the end nothing matters, and you give back to Earth by being organic matter and decomposing. This song is so beautiful as usual Amazarashi are amazing

I wonder if younger generations will have the same type of feelings of nostalgia, appreciation and joy from media like this as the generation which first experienced it feel/felt. Dunno why after all the time since this was released I have never gotten it out of my head. Every now and then when I feel a certain way I just come back to this wonderful piece. The feelings of melancholy wash over as it fills me with an odd hope (if that makes sense). The way it flows with the orchestral vibe near the end is lovely and far better than it has any right to be. This song will forever remind me of similar experiences, of a times I wish I could experience again, binge watching anime on a device screen under blankets early in the morning before school and late into evenings. Discovering and experiencing anime/jpn media from the early 2000s to mid teens. Watching things which brought so much joy and different emotions to me (like toradora, anohana, watamote, eureka 7, Lucky star, ghost stories, haruhi suzumiya, steins gate, nichijou, first seasons of Tokyo ghoul, angel beats, hunterxhunter, psycho pass, space dandy, assassination class room, your lie in april, Erased, and that is just some) Going into adulthood after schooling is a interesting thing, I feel happy when looking back at what I enjoyed. I wish the best for those experiencing similar small joys which I did. Good luck
*tokyo ghoul was a gift of massive value* *emotional value and the 8.99 gbp i payed for the manga* *goodbye and thank you Tokyo Ghoul you have brought me great pleasure over the past 2 years*
Tokyo Ghoul was dark, edgy, and crude. Yet, it was able to describe the wrongs and hope of this world we live in so so lividly, we sympathize with kaneki, touka, hide, amon, urie, and various characters as they change, as they grow. it truly is a piece of work that inspires us to move forward. In no way is the real world right, but it isn't wrong either, it just simply exists. the journey of kaneki as he change, find love, and ultimately find happiness. this journey has caused many grief and happiness as we come to understand kaneki and the world through ishida sensei's art. As the world continues to change, even if all we do is for naught, this piece of work still tells us to move forward, through the hardships, through the pain, as we search for salvation and joy. all we can show ishida sensei our appreciation is to read his work. the manga is now long overs, it was a long journey, seeing kaneki fall to insanity, find happiness and family in the ccg, and ultimately find a true family and save the world. kaneki finding salvation and coming to terms with his own actions might just be what tokyo ghoul is created to be. and for that i am truly grateful. thank you, Ishida Sensei.
Charles Wang it’s just too bad the anime didnt do it justice. Anime is soo fast pace, they cut out alot of character developments and major plot points it is sad.
This song was what truly made the last episode sad. Like literally. When Kaneki finished carrying Hide to the CCG, This song came up, and the series ended.. It was truly sad..
I will always be advocating for people to read Tokyo Ghoul. And I will always be advocating for it to get the FMA:Brotherhood treatment. It's a great story that deserves to be animated properly, it commands respect and awe. It's gorgeous and sad and strange, and so very human. I'm not sure what the chances are that a studio will pick it up and do the manga justice, but I'll always have a bit of hope that it does get what it deserves someday.
This anime wasnt treated as it deserve but this song is one of the masterpieces they give us. Tokyo Ghoul itself was a true masterpiece that is gonna be remember by so many fans!! Is gonna be nostalgic hearing this song from now on ;-;

For the ones interested in learning Kanji, it is a slow song and it goes kinda well here go the lyrics:

Did your mother say was true or was it a lie?
Will you ever see the path of light or will you forever walk in darkness?
Will you or will
you not...find happiness?
Edit: I wrote this before Tokyo Ghoul:Re came out!
Amethyst the one and only nice
Wat.
Awesome:)
was already shedding tears and you went ahead made me burst!
Amethyst the one and only Tsukiyama fan I'm guessing
What they want to convey through this song is that even if you think you have nothing, don't break down and let your past haunt you. Keep moving forward instead because now you have nothing to lose
this song is beautiful...
I remember when an episode ended really emotionally... Might have been the last one, cant remember. But anyways this song starts playing right after and I bawl my eyes out.
thankyou been looking for the whole thing everywhere
ggmu
the tokyo ghoul soundtrack translations really hit hard and deep in the feels

You're right
Kaneki=Life
Honestly, this is why i prefer the original japanese as opposed to the english cover with the exception of littlejaynecakes.
What i loved the most about the song is that the lyric is very uplifting and inspirational. The song tell us that no matter how horrible life is, we have to keep on living no matter what, facing life challenge with your head up straight. Eventuall is all will pass amd you will enjoy the bright fufure.
As opposed to most english cover lyric where the song is all about whiny emo stuff.
just when i thought i got over this anime
The story and the characters are to strong to got over them. It was my first anime, and still my favourit of all time. Crying everytime when its over, i hope there get an sequel from his kids..
Ay, this was brought back after months of waiting. Awesome
No matter how many times I listen to this song I can't get bored of it . Tokyo ghoul is a great anime with a great songs ❤️♥️❤️
This song was always make me cry when I listened to it in the end of every episode, and now that I know the meaning of its lyrics, I'm crying more harder.
holy shit these lyrics are a masterpiece
when i was 10, i wrote all my favourite songs on a book. and i have been listening to all of them until now except for this. i just opened it just now and saw this song title in the book and was like "wha? i never seen this before right?" so i came here and searched for it. and found this amazing song again. the nostalgia~
DIFFERENT LYRICS
The voices cry, as seasons die, the leaves fade to dust
And one by one, they turn to run, so who can you trust?
He pours just another glass
And breathes in his empty past
Above the moon is waning as I cave in to lust
And weighing down, beneath a frown, the rain cries its tears
Treading mud, heated blood, I’m drunk off their fears
He wanders through every street
A blank gaze filled with deceit
Fabricating innocence with a conscience kept clear
Barely there, empty stares, as if a shadow in the night
Hesistant on what is right, questioning if this is life
Crying loud, into the rain
As my soul drowns in the pain
Praying one day the clouds will break
Shifting forth my withered fate
Here we meet once again
My yesterday damaged, time won’t ever mend
Clutching to memories
Days where I still believed
Now all I do is break down deep inside
And fighting back the urge to die
Flowers growing anew
Returning each season, through hardships they bloom
Grief I try hard to hide
Pain eating me alive
Trapped in a nightmare that just never ends
Wish the sun would shine again
And one by one, they turn to run, but why race so fast?
Tomorrow comes as I’m growing numb, and soon it’s the past
That will to keep living on, I’m empty, the fire’s gone
So why do I keep going by, I so constantly ask
Who are you, who am I?
Differences I can see defined
Standing high on towers tall
Still your hate can make them fall
Crying loud, to all around
A prayer masked by a horrid sound
The agony left in my hands
A dream you’ll never understand
Here we meet once again
My yesterday damaged, time won’t ever mend
Clutching to memories
Days where I still believed
Now all I do is break down deep inside
And fighting back the urge to die
Flowers growing anew
Returning each season, through hardships they bloom
Grief I try hard to hide
Pain eating me alive
Trapped in a nightmare that just never ends
Wish the sun would shine again
Walking weighed down from the pain
I drag along, the guilty chains
Frowning as the sunlight fades
Shackled by the sins I’ve made
Don’t know, just where to go
I’ve always been out on my own
Staring at the path ahead
My apprehension laced with dread
Faintly, surging with new clarity
Starting slow with timid strides
Sudden warmth within my mind
Lives discarded anyway
Picking up the torn remains
Left behind so long ago
Maybe now I know
Here we meet once again
Our yesterday fading, so goodbye my friend
Clutching to memories
Reliving long lost dreams
Although breathing in this life is always hard
Looking back I’ve come so far
Flowers falling away
Descending and gleaming, reborn once they fade
Grief I try hard to hide
Still I am here, alive
Hearing that song that just plays on again
Shining bright the sun ascends
And one by one, with the sun, the seasons bring life
Hoito did you translate this yourself ??
Hoito Is that official ? I hope not the lyrics in the video are much more poetic and beautiful.
He stole this from tyer records version of the song
Lostswimmer1997 I love that version tho
Nep Nep I like it also, but give credit where it's due
Had to open this song to read that last chapter. What a ride. Farewell TG.
I've been listening to this song for 4yrs and I still love it.
"As my fingers and toes regrew like hair and fingernails, i was feeling that i truly truly truly am a monster"
Dayum this song is a poem, "Our flowers will wilt one day, our lives returning to the circle of life" this gives me so much relief like at the end nothing matters, and you give back to Earth by being organic matter and decomposing. This song is so beautiful as usual Amazarashi are amazing
This song makes me sad every time ... Wish season 2 was longer.
The moment I heard this song in the S2 ending I knew I found something that caught my attention. Now I'm so glad I sat and listened to it aswell. Such a great song! My heart starts beating fast when he starts singing!!!
I always loved this song, I didn't even know they used it for Tokyo Ghoul lmao, it's been so many years haha, time truly flies, thank you for your translation and editing!! We appreciate it!!! 💟❣💕❣💜💖💓💝💗💞💘💓
i never knew the lyrics were so deep :( so beautifully written....brings out the tragic feelings...
That's not the actual translation
@@rarRoarrar if you watch then anime while the song was playing and put on subs, it'll show you the actual translation
@@hi-wc8nn can you prove this? I have found that the origin of these lyrics were from Amazarashi themselves, so unless you can prove otherwise....
See you in season 3.... If possible

Ken Kaneki bruh, I saw your profile pic, and I'm like "I don't remember commenting this." 😂
one of the best songs in anime history
In my opinion, the best song of all time
I wonder if younger generations will have the same type of feelings of nostalgia, appreciation and joy from media like this as the generation which first experienced it feel/felt. Good luck
Listen to this while reading the last chapter for the real TG experience. Thank you Ishida for a wonderful masterpiece.
this song makes me cry everytime I hear it, even more so when I read the lyrics
i remember about 3 years ago i would just fucking vibe to this shit so good brings back memories
This song is so incredible.
actually my favourite outro and has an amazing text
NOW THE ANIME IT'S ENDED I'M SO SAD GUYS
*tokyo ghoul was a gift of massive value*
*emotional value and the 8.99 gbp i payed for the manga*
*goodbye and thank you Tokyo Ghoul you have brought me great pleasure over the past 2 years*
very emotional and touching, great song for an ending... wait a sec.
This song is still one of the best anime ending
This song gives a lot of nostalgia
To this day this song still makes me cry but feel happy at the same time
This song was what truly made the last episode sad. Like literally. When Kaneki finished carrying Hide to the CCG, This song came up, and the series ended.. It was truly sad..
Xarelii Wrong song..
Code: Battle Nemesis and the fact that they played unravel before the episode ended ;(
I’m convinced this is the best song I’ve ever heard
The opening and Ending songs really hit my heart, they have so much emotion.
It is weird to realize it turned out to be my favorite song.
never stopping from coming back man
I will always be advocating for people to read Tokyo Ghoul.
This anime wasnt treated as it deserve but this song is one of the masterpieces they give us. Tokyo Ghoul itself was a true masterpiece that is gonna be remember by so many fans!! Is gonna be nostalgic hearing this song from now on ;-;
