Love this. You can get the wire wet though (submerged/dishwasher safe 🥰) but I liked watching the step by step you did (I am definitely a visual learner). I’m just going to use some vinegar or bleach instead of plain water though, but absolutely a very informative step by step video! Thank you, love 🙏 ❤️
I have been growing for a month and the booklet says to clean aerogarden now. The plants are still small. What do I do with them while cleaning? Can I put them back in aerogarden after I clean it?
Carefully put the plant roots into another bowl, with water for them to be submerged in, while you’re cleaning them.. Try not to break any of the roots while taking them out of the slot. You can give the pod a gentle squeeze to loosen it from the slot and remove it. Shouldn’t be too difficult for you, as you haven’t been growing them for too long, so the roots shouldn’t be unruly… I let mine go wayyyyy too long before I did mine! Haha. It was a whole mess 😅🥰🥰 But ya, then just gently put them back into their slots after you’re finished cleaning them.
Yikes that is not how you clean it. You have to put it on the pump for five minutes with either a quarter cup of bleach or 5 cups of distilled vinegar because you are not killing the bacteria that way. Also you can take the pump off and put the deck in the dishwasher.
You are correct that the method shown isn't sterilizing the AeroGarden and killing bacteria. During my use of it I haven't had any issues with bacteria, fungus, or even algae so just rinsing and wiping has been sufficient for me. If you do experience issues with those things, a more through sterilization would be appropriate. Thanks for watching 😊🌱
Great video. I also used a new soft toothbrush to scrub the nooks and crannies followed by cotton swabs. Ugghhh, I couldn't believe the junk that came out.
Clearest demo I've found on how to take aerogarden apart for cleaning. I'll be using the no rinse cleaner but this video was a very helpful step by step tutorial.
Such a big help❤❤❤ Have putting it off and so happy to get my new garden started!!!
Can’t find the black sponge anywhere 😮
This does motivate me address the calcium buildup and what appears to be calcified plant food. You need a vinegar solution to clean these.

Yes, you can just remove the tray with the plants, clean the reservoir, and put the tray and plants back.

Have you found the plants on the ends any so so well? I’m wondering if this shape or the harvest elite would work better
I think the plants on the ends did really well, I think the ones in the center struggled more.
Great video! Thank you :)
Thanks for watching 😊🌱
Great video
Thanks 😊🌱

Not enough, need to sanitize mine :【
What about cleaning it when you have plants growing and you want to keep them growing but need to clean the water?
I got a used one that was full of crap. I took it all apart and cleaned it with dish soap. There was no other way.
Great video. I also used a new soft toothbrush to scrub the nooks and crannies followed by cotton swabs. Ugghhh, I couldn't believe the junk that came out.
Can anyone help me with knowing how to clean out excessive roots in the pump?
super duper helpful! Thanks dude!
Glad it was helpful 😊🌱
