this scene feels kinda random amongst everything else going on, but i kinda love it bc this is what single-handedly prompted nick to ask charlie about the bullying later in the episode

I love that Tao finally took the chance to really get to know Nick and realize that he wasn’t just some popular jock boy trying to steal his best friend. He’s actually a nice dude who truly cares a lot about people.
Same. Nick is the rare exception. And I love that some people are finally getting that Tao isn’t a ‘toxic’ friend and that he’s acting from a place of trauma that’s just as valid as anyone else’s.
Agreed, I like that we get an exsplanation as to why he is scared of loosing people, especially Elleand he has realised where at least some of this stems from. He cares deeply for his friends, even if it doesn't allways seem the best way to go about it. He has come to learn he doesn't need to be so worried about Nick messing Charlie around and that is one of the nice ones and really cares about charlie.
I love the growth in their friendship so much. From the bowling alley to here. We finally get to see them both open up. And the look on Nick's face when he realizes what it means that Charlie never even told his best friend how bad the bullying was... heartbreaking 😢
i love the subtle acting from Kit in this scene when Tao said Charlie never talked to him either, you just see the concern wash over Nick’s face almost instantly.
He didn't accept him fully at first but glad he developed a nice perspective for him ❤

Ah interesting. In the comics Tao knew how bad the bullying got, how extreme it was since I think he knew Charlie first originally. Here, he doesn’t know as much. Very interesting choice.
i think it’s more-so that tao knew the extent of the bullying (how bad it got) but didn’t know as much of charlie’s feelings about it bc charlie didn’t open up to him. i think that’s why nick was so concerned at the end - because he realizes in this conversation that charlie keeps his emotions bottled inside, leading to his poor mental health. i rlly want to reread the comics after watching this tho 😩
