When I was 8, my mother and I watched Corpse Bride and she told me that she wanted this played at her funeral. Now, I'm currently taking piano lessons to learn this song so that she can have her wish granted.

For anyone who is wondering, this type of piece is pretty easy for someone who has been playing piano for a long time. I would say it's in the intermediate level. Not super hard but also not something a beginner pianist can pick up right away.

2 of my friends for engaged to each other recently, I'm assigned to play this song at their wedding (then they'll say the "corpse bride vows" to each other... it'll be a beautiful, non-traditional, queer wedding with gender neutral terminology being used). It's in September 2024, so I have time, I want to take on this challenge/responsibility but it's nerve wracking. If people see this comment, come back to the video once in a while to cheer me on and go ahead and yell at me to practice if you want lol. Otherwise it might be hard for me to initiate the task as it feels overwhelmingly difficult.
Edit: Mission accomplished! :) My piano teacher found a different arrangement that'll work better for what they want, and I used that, but it has been learned!

I've learned half the song and come up with an arrangement so it's a bit longer (basically repeated the first section [2nd time without the little intro] an octave up. basically i have a plan and have basically mastered the first half :)
edit: just realized how many times I used the word "basically" lol

Your ability to learn this song really boils down to your ability to play arpeggios. And I can't play arpeggios, so I can't play this song. Yet.

Ca ne sert à rien d'essayer d'en mettre plein les yeux avec un tas de notes jouées super rapidement quand on peut en mettre plein les émotions avec de simples notes jouées lentement.

I printed the sheet 3.5 months after starting the piano. It was insanely impossible (due to the arpegios on more than one octave).
I then printed FFVIII Find your way. Fast arpegios on one octave with different tonalities.
5.5 months in, I came back to Victor ... and ... it was very much learnable. It has been two weeks and I play it slowly decently. Two more weeks and I'll play it perfectly.
It's incredible how this made me feel my progress of those two months.
