Mel's voice was really disguised here. You can hear her tone in some parts, but I never would have guessed this was her.
Yeah, she said she was trying to mimick Emma's voice.
She didn't need a device to mask her voice... I could tell she was intentionally singing in a higher breathier way and I can see mimicking Emma... but she sounds like Mel B

I was in the audience for this show and Mel B’s reveal! Growing up I was a huge Spice Girl fan and I still cannot believe my luck that I got to see an actual Spice Girl up close, it couldn’t have been more perfect!
That seahorse costume is amazingly beautiful.
Kylie's singing voice is like the Queen's speaking voice--only one person does that voice.

People should stop bashing. Johnathan Ross knows Mel B for decades and was adamant that it didn't sound like her. I found the same. She was trying to imitate Kylie Style to disguise her voice. That is why sounded so weak. She is not an amazing singer but she is not bad either. She can hold a tune.

She actually already has 2 albums. Hot came out in 2000 and L.A. state of mind came out in 2005. The first album also featured a colab with Missy Elliot.
She already had a solo career and it wasnt successful. She isn't great as a solo performer

If there ever was a bad song choice for a singer, this was it. This song as it is, matches Kylie Minogue's voice only, and she can sing this live.
If someone wants to cover this, they need to change it to fit their voice and style. It's not a song that's easy to cover.
