Spent three months in Ecuador last year and going back in August. I started my trip in a small fisherman village called Puerto Engabao. The people there are amazing and they took me on their boat to document their ceremony. Traveled all of Ecuador as well but spent about two months on the coast. I’m heading back to Ayampe.

Galapagos is amazing but very expensive. Isla Ballestas, The Poor's Man Galapagos in Peru is a very good way to see abundance of penguins, thousands of birds everywhere and we can swim with sealyons

Thank you so much! Your comment means the world to me :) I believe there is only one bus company offering trips Cuenca - Banos and it is called 'Amazonas'. I wouldn't worry too much about buying in advance, maybe a few hours before is enough. On my way the bus was half empty so I don't think they sell out quickly every time. Just be careful from the thieves in the bus on that route. We actually had one in ours but thankfully driver kicked him off!

What I liked about Paracas was the desert, we don't have deserts in Ecuador so I found it very beautiful, the Huancachina really took my breath away!
