Looking good. This was a great song to see and hear live. Just to let you guys know that Susumu Hirasawa wanted to use real Fire for this show and I think water as well. But they didn't want him to use for safety reasons. So that's why they deiced to use the two screens in the back.
He definitely seemed to want to make this live the grandest PHONON concert ever, interesting seeing as it followed an EP that took almost 0 effort to produce (Way of Live 2) which also followed the least technologically ambitious live he had done in many years (Parallel Kozak). From what I'm seeing with this show not only is the tech on the level but every single song seems to be preceded by a short introduction / transitional track even if the song isn't a new arrangement. It's a phonon that has even more spectacle than most Interactive Live Shows.
I wish the live dvd wasn't perpetually out of stock because I'd love to buy it! Every video I see from this concert is so unique and amazing! There's no one out there like Susumu Hirasawa.
You know, every tim I‘m on these videos and start looking for the music elsewhere, I feel like this is just a different dimension slipping into ours, because this exists no where else.
From what I could make out of the lyrics with my very limited Japanese skills, "Antimonesia" seems to be about some country, or island, in a faraway sea. Antimonesia was lost long ago, but its legacy or legends about it still linger around in the present, somewhat like Atlantis. The third line of the song says "In the logbook, there is no such name." It's all very mysterious and difficult to translate. Though at least the translating part should be easier if you speak the language better. ^^
Thank you! The beeps seriously sound like Morse code... I'd like to decypher that. And it definitely looks like they are trying to make some sort of mechanism work but it doesn't bring desired results no matter how they are trying. I love the freezing, almost inorganic professionalism in this performance. To me, it feels like Hybrid Phonon show (and most live performances involving Kaku P-Model) contain this odd, cold and refreshing energy which smells like ozone and is sharp to the touch. it zaps you like electric shock from a faulty wiring. It's also a bit like standing in a fast-flowing, narrow mountain river slithering between rocks, neck-deep in pure freezing water, but somehow being very content with that turn of events and feeling like it's your element. Electricity and water aren't supposed to mix well but this performance manages to combine them. This song, however, is more deep-ocean-like. It reminds me of 広場で2 a whole lot. And oh my god, so beautiful. (Also, it's terribly cute how Hirasawa always looks tinier and more fragile than any musician with whom he collaborates. And his ears are literally pointy! :D) Sorry for the wall of text.
It definitely sounds like Morse code, but I feel that it would translate through Japanese, so it would be a task to decipher it, unless he is using International code of signals
georgekostaras no way the classical musicians are actual genius. Hirasawa isnt all that compared to the people who changed the hotory of music, but definitely an amazing artist.
Denglong I don't think you can compare the two, music is a far less abstract/more exploratory and more developed thing, there are "geniuses" today in music just due to the far higher population involved and having access to composition scene, but you couldn't name any of them, they are not as relevant to development of future music. Who is to say if someone like bartok or schoenberg existed today they would be working on "classical music" necessarily
@@denglong7180 Sure but from his life we can tell this man has quit the intellect, combined by the fact that his lyrics from his works showcase a strong creative spirit. I think he can the enter the hall of fame
I have to vote yes with your statement that he would be on the same level as Beethoven because I am FREAKING BLOWN AWAY by this man who I just happened to find by coincidence (super lucky coincidence for me). The originality of his music, alone, is magnificent. I think if he and Beethoven were in the same room they would probably be jamming within the hour.
This is a great and innovative way to create music. The songs sounds wonderful. I would like to buy it but not on DVD or download. I would appreciate it if they would get published on audiophile mediums like SACD or XRCD. Or, at least, 192kHz/24bit files. This sound deserves it!
He's actually a member of the band PEVO (the band's name is actually a portmanteau of P-MODEL and DEVO), a band created by Hirasawa in the 90s that is still active to this day. His real name is unknown, but he's known as PEVO#1. He's also the only backing band member that is still active in his concerts.
Kind of looks like they're continuously trying and failing to light a couple of giant joints. Like all of Hirasawa's work though, I really wish I knew what everything meant. A translation is often not enough.
