Like a lot of people in the comments, my octopus also ended up with ten legs. My issue was that I did one less sc between each leg than the pattern instructs. You should have three stitches *in between* the legs, not two. Hope this helps!
wait... i thought there were supposed to be 4 stitches in between the legs😅😂
I only had two between and it has 8 legs lol I wrote everything down in a notebook then slowed down the video so I could watch carefully.
You may have had too many stitches on the row before
Thank you si much, I had the same issue
I followed the video more than the instructions and they do three sc... the pattern says 2sc before and 1 sc after the leg (the last sc is easy to oversee i guess)
This is the most coherent tutorial I have ever watched, I for sure thought I would mess up, but you demonstrate your patterns so easily, great video!
Wrong
@@justinguthro1002 What did you gain from commenting this? I’m saying that this helped me, didn’t say anything about it being helpful for others.

my friend wanted this for ages but she couldn't find it anywhere, so i'm gonna make her one now! thank you for this excelent tutorial!
Same, im gonna surprise my big bro with this when he comes back from his trip.
First vid I see when I searched up crochet reversible octopus, look at the description and imidiatly followed 🙂
worked perfectly for me. To avoid 10 legs: ignore the written pattern when first making legs. Just watch what she does and copy. Thanks for the great pattern!
Thank you for watching my video
This is so cute I love it,I did get confused on the legs but I figured it out. I made one for myself and one for a friend they both worked out so cute.
Hii. What is the size of the safety eye?? If u don't mind me asking
This was the only reversible octopus vid I’ve ever actually been able to follow so Ty!
Огромное вам спасибо! У вас такие милые,замечательные игрушки! Желаю вам душевного и физического здоровья,много энергии!
Thank you!
Just made this octopus!! And it's absolutely beginner friendly!!! Came out soo perfect, but I used embroider eyes becoz the place were I'm staying they don't sell any safety eyes
T7
@Julia Chua thank you!!! I'll try that 😊
I have a hack that might help with spacing the legs. (I draw a chart to help me visualise it but cant show it here.) We have 30 stitches and 8 legs which means each leg stitch sequence has 4 stitches in it. Each sequence consists of 1sc, the 2nd sc has the chain worked from the same stitch, the next stitch is a decrease stitch and then lastly the last sc of the sequence. If you start with the 2sc (only for the first leg as the first of those 2 stitches acts as the last stitch in the last sequence), and move onto the chain for the leg, once the 5 sc are completed on the chain you have to anchor the leg back into the sc that the chain came from. The next step is the decrease. Go into the stitch at the base of the leg and pick up a loop, go into the next stitch and pick up a loop, 3 on the needle and pull through. Do 1sc and then start the sequence again but only do 1sc at the start. When you get to the end you will finish the row on the decrease stitch as the last sc was done at the start of the round. I know this sounds complicated but just remember that each leg has 4 stitches which has to decrease to 3 once the leg has been done. Hope this helps someone.
This is my very first amigurumi project, and it was so beautiful I enjoyed making it, thanks a lot ❤️
so i love giving gifts so im surprising all my friends with these in their favorite colors
I'm totally going to make this tomorrow omg. I just wish I could use my soft Bulky yarn. I've learned the hard way, stitches are HARD to see with it lol!
lol thats true! Im using my bulky yarn but it is rlly hard
My octopus has 10 legs! Hehehe
Edit:thanks for all the likes! My decapus is happy! 😊
Then it’s not an octopus
@@giode_13 decapus
Or maybe 10apus, but ur name idea sounds cooler
Or, a squid
Well it can’t be a squid since squids don’t look like octopuses
squid: 🦑
Octopus: 🐙
I'm Halfway through the octopus, my yarn finished . So far it's going all well. I'm making it for a friend. I Hope it turns it well😁😁😁
I love how you demonstrate it! I’m exited to try this. Thanks for showing every step clearly
The way you crochet is smooth and i started crochet since Novem or December 2021
And doing this tommorrow at my cousins
Thank you
❤ soo cute and well made 😊
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. The tentacles are so cute, though it required a lot of attention to make.
I made 3 of these for the people in my family for christmas, and they turned oit soo cute! Thank you for the tutorial!😊
Also wondering why your octopus is wierd looking? Its because she puts the stitch marker as the first stitch when its actually supposed to be the last stitch of the row
@@Fuecoco717 Hey could you tell me how long it took you, im trying to make one for a friend
This channel is the best I am following you ice bear tutorial and u where helping me out so much and as a begginer if its hard just slow down the speed of the video and u can understand super quick!
I'm working on one for my nephew, he's obsessed with these. I'm working with fuzzy and regular yarn.
He's gonna love it :> even tho I'm commenting in this 1 month after u posted it lol
Thank you so much for sharing. I subscribed to your channel. No talking and I could still follow every single step. I look forward to make these.
I made it!! But it's smaller than u made i guess its because of the yarn
I lovee ur videos
I just made this! It’s so cute and definitely beginner friendly! I’ve only been crocheting for 7 months akd found this very easy , thank you!
Idk why but I cried of frustration while trying to make this
Same
what a beautiful octopus. did it in a jiffy and in love with it since then... thank you for this amazing video
my 12 year old fingers don't support me doing this but imma do it anyways
thanks for this video!! I'm planning to make a few for my friends before graduation :)
Only been crocheting for three DAYS ..video super easy follow.
Thanks so much
Some reason row 4 I can't get 32 .I keep getting 36st at the end.
1sc,2sc,1sc.
So I did 1sc,1sc,2sc that made out to 32st.
Same thing kept happening to me tysm for your comment
just add a few more for example put three in one loop
i’m not sure if it’s too late but you’re supposed to do 1sc and an increase for the first 2 stitches, then do 2sc and an increase for the rest, then for your very last stitch you should have 1sc.
@@lvly.a ah, tysm for this, I was totally confused and I'm just crocheting for few months so yea- again, tsym very much!!
it is my first time found a good tutorial , I LOVE YOUR VID 🤟👍
16:03 Put together starts

I am left handed and often have to follow right handed tutorials
Oh you are so special. We have another channel for left handed, and it will coming soon.
I am soooo happy that I got to find your channel
I love you tutorials
Thank you so much too.
Thanks so much..got perfect 8 legs or tentacles 👏🥰
Awesome project.
also where you put the stich marker, thats the last stich in the rnd. you've been counting it as the first stich.
I love it that u put abbreviations in desc cuz I was confused with what Inc meant, thank u
Very simple pattern, had great fun making this, thank you 🥰
Thank you so much
MY GODDDD MINE LOOKS SO GOOD😭🤚
wonderful channel! Thank you for all the great work!!!!!!!!!
I think round 12 is supposed to be 40sc? I got six legs and a bit left over when I did the 3sc 1inc.
This is amazing my octopus is so cute thank you for this tutorial and mine has 8 legs
IMMA MAKE A GIANT ONE OMG THIS IS GONNA BE SO COOL THANK YOU
Good luck!😉
I love the background music, the sounds give me octopus vibes :)
Me watching this with absolute zero experience for my partner said this is adorable and I wanna make her one so bad.XD
Row 14 is confusing the heck out of me 😓
So it's 2sc 2hd and two dc then the end stitch its 2 dc on one and 2 dc in the other then 2 dc 2 hdc the two sc
thanks alot! , I made it and it was very beautiful 🤍!.
Thank You for this pattern. 🙂
Чудесная осьминожка и понятное объяснение
Hahhaa istg i try to do the magic ring more than 10 time hahahah
Woow... Beautiful
Thank you a lot I will definitely try this I really want to do one inspired by matchablossom or renga
omg hi fellow sk8 fan :O this is such a weird coincidence to see this comment cus the one octopus I had before this tutorial was pink and green and I call the two sides matcha and blossom lol
I'm a new begginner and I didn't get R14. I get what's shown in the video but I didn't get the pattern. Can someone explain it ?
All is fine but I had to make 6-7 lines of sc in the body...
I don't know why I had to do this but I want to know which yarn is that you are using
I used milk cotton yarn 125g
Thank you for watching my video
@@AmiguWorldOfficial thankyou ❤️
Hi. Is there a written pattern for this tutorial please
i had to mute this video because the background music clicks sound like gross mouth sounds to me :( cute pattern tho!
Tip: instead of a needle for wool u can ur ur crochet hook to stitch pretty much the same way
Thats exactly what i used when i made mine because i lost my needle and i had an idea to use the hook.
In the same logic can you make a bucket hat instead? Like bigger but still can be reversible
Woww 😻👏👏👏👏 thanks❣
Hello, may I use this pattern to make products I will sell? This is the best I've seen on the internet. 💖
Yes. Thank you for watching my video
This is adorable!
I’m so excited to make this!
It is a really nice video i made it and it so cute.
I love this SO MUCH but I was confused on the second row of tentacles could someone please help me? Thank you ❤❤❤
This is so eady to follow! I'll try it thanks for the tutorial!
Easy*
I love it. I got 8 legs though not 9 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Which one is preferable? Cotton or acrylic?
I used milk cotton yarn 125g
Cute😊
Why does row 14's written pattern said x2 so I assume everything in the parentheses should be repeated but the she continues to do a double crochet. Whyyyyy? Pls someone explain TwT
She's doing 2 double crochets in the next stitch as well. It's two different dc increases, if that makes sense.
Awesome video! ❤ But the music is...😅
Where did you bought the eye? Btw it's so pretty
I’ve made 2 of these now and follow the pattern like a hawk- still only getting 7 legs….what am I doing wrong ? 😬
Otherwise a great pattern!!!
Are you doing the decrease in the bottom of the leg you start in the v looking stitch right after the 5th one you go in pull up the loop then go into the next single crochet to finish the decrease. If you don't start at that spot you will use up extra stitches. I wrote it all down in a notebook all of the directions then slowed down the speed of the video for the legs hope it helps
I got 9 legs.🙂
@@traceyifversen6109 this helped me get from 6 legs to 8 legs, thank you so much :)
@@susanzhu2928 you are very welcome😍
Round 7 what does -11 : 40sc mean Is that sc until row 11
Yes
this is sooooo amazing!!! but can u help me please, i do not understand what does 11: mean there 7:15, and why there's a R12 after the R7
i didn't understand at first as well but it says R7-11: which means do this for row 7 8 9 10 11. That's why there's a R12 after the R7-11
thank you so much
do you have this as a pattern somewhere instead of video?
good thing this had no voiceover because I couldn't handle the squelching sound
Any idea what size they used for the eyes?
How do you get the stuffing to stay in the tentacles?
You could crochet a square or a circle to fit in the tentacles and sew it in so the stuffing doesnt fall out. Hope this helped!😊
What measurement did you use for the safety eyes?
Can someone explain round 14 for me, I really need some help to finish this project?
this is so cute
What kind of yarn? Cotton or acrylic? Or doesn't it matter?
Why do people keep putting this in the comments 👁️👄👁️ I mean it’s not that popular right like you can’t say I’m wrong
Hello. What size is the safety eyes?
Very Nice 🥰
Saludos desde Cancún
Omg so cute, I'll do this 🥰😍
I don’t understand start from 18:04 !!can someone tell me ??
12:32 don't mind me, just bookmarking
When you put them together, it's necessary to use the needle or you can just use the hook? Like, doing a stitch or slip stich taking the stitchs from the two pieces? I don't know if i am explaining it well, sorry
I used a needle to buff them, you can watch them at the end of my video
Thank you for watching my video
i do not like the music at all but the octopus is adorable!! just please don’t use that sound again it sounds like eating.
I had to mute the sound.
What kinda yarn is it? Cotton or acrylic?
I used milk cotton yarn 125g
how many grams of yarn did you use?
It is so cute 🤩. Where can I buy the little eyes?
I bought them online
Thank you for watching my video
Hi How are you doing today?
