I could immediately tell this video was going to be good based on the sheer positivity in the beginning & I could tell that you are a woman of faith! God bless your family!

Aw, thanks! Yep, God's gotta be at the center or it all falls apart for sure. (Still feels crazy, but His grace is always there.)

Hi Amber, loving the implementation of a punch card reward system to motivate them and the importance of instilling responsibility in children and working together as a family to maintain the household.

We use school time as “work day” type thing for them. So they earn money based on grades. Just like going to work everyday and getting paid. They go to school and get good grades so quarterly they get paid for their grade. I didn’t love it at first. But since we worked it till it equates to a “work schedule” I was happier with it. Bonuses at work are a thing. Chores at home are a must. No financial benefit. However, there are extras they can do around in terms of the farm work that will earn them money. Farmhand jobs.

There you go. There are kids that go to school and made to deal with things that don't register with them and all for nothing.
I am glad that you are making it mean something to them and benefit them in the end.
More than anything, it's about teaching kids how to earn things instead of having to come to mom or dad for things.

I love this! Thank you; we currently have nothing implemented and it feels so chaotic. I searched on RUclips for somewhere to start and your video came up; hugely appreciated. x

You're so welcome! It's still working its wonders for my four boys. I'd tried so many different charts and systems over the years but nothing stuck til this. Let me know if you have any other ideas for videos that would be helpful.

I love this! I’d appreciate your feedback regarding timeliness, and the need to consistently urge and remind the child. Our son is ADHD & ASD level 1. To say he is a day dreamer is putting it lightly 😂
It’s personally daunting to think he could easily adapt and I want to be sure to support him in the best way possible.

Thrilled to hear it! How many kids do you have and what are their ages? What kinds of rewards do you think will most motivate them? I'm always looking for more ideas but this simple chore system is working GREAT for us.

If every parent would look into doing what you are doing it would solve a lot of problems in the house because it would do more to encourage kids to help out in the house and also the little allowance incentive can be used to teach kids into earning things that they want instead of having to come to mom and dad when they see something that they become attracted to like it is the best thing in life to them.
I don't understand why there are parents who cannot see the reason to do this type of thing and meanwhile they are the ones having to deal with the whiny kids when the kids see something that they want and they have to go to mom and dad to get it and they say no and you know the rest of the story.
    Big ups to you !!

It's helped my kids do their chores and stick with our routine, which is really saying something because we've tried A LOT.

So no tablets during the week?

    • @SolutionsforSimplicity
      @SolutionsforSimplicity  3 месяца назад +1

During the school year, no. We've tried to keep tablet time to Friday night and Saturday, and even then they have to have finished their checklist of chores & things before they can play. Don't get me wrong...we're far from perfect at enforcing this all the time, especially on days school is closed or someone is sick. We've also relaxed a little bit during the summer but during the school year there's so little time between school, homework, activities, and all the basic stuff that there's not much left over. How do you do things in your family?

Why rewards? Is immediate obedience and life skills training not a thing anymore?

  • @saraschneider6781

If tablet time is not your favorite reward, then why did you buy them to begin with? No one to blame but yourself on that one.
