I like the comment, "you can leave the horizon line white." Being a novice, I appreciate the way you narrate your paintings. I've learned so much. Thank you.
YOU can do this! "Profundity must be wrapped in simplicity in order to be useful" ... and this teacher has it down pat! Her teaching style is very easy to follow and does not confuse with extraneous info. Watch it through, then get your painting stuff out and follow along!
Thank you! Really nice lesson for beginners and explain all in details 👍 I am a beginner and have issues with watercolor every time 🤕 Hope you lesson will help me with it
Man, that was hard somehow! But a really good exercise... in water control lol anyway, I am pretty happy about the result. A really nice motive as well, thank you Emily! 🙂
I really like all your videos! You explain things in a very simple way, thank you :) There is only one things: lately the audio is very low, did you change microphone or its position?
Emily, I’ve been eyeballing the Trekell protege brushes for quite some time. I have all the rounds in SBV and some kolinsky brushes as well, but I don’t have any “good” synthetic brushes. Are the Trekells good? Would you recommend them! The larger round kolinsky brushes I have don’t come to a sharp point and I like having the option of only using one brush.
They are great so far--rivalling even my beloved Silver Black Velvet. I will need to paint with them a while longer to see how they hold up, but so far zero complaints!
@@EmilyOlsonArt I love my SBV too. The tip on my size 8 has rounded out a bit and is no longer sharp but that's from using it everyday for 5 years. All the rest are just as pointy as when I bought them. I'm looking for a good synthetic that doesn't end up getting a hook on the tip. I'll be interested in your opinion of the Trekell after a bit more use. I can afford those unlike the Lebenzons.
I’m a “ FRUSTRATED “ Artist!! I’ve sold a few paintings on eBay.... as well as a bunch more sales of cartoon pen/ ink ( and colored pencil ) to regional newspapers.... and targeted diverse magazines. As FUN as it is to sell artwork.... I’m “ frustrated “ because he feel I’ve reached my creative “ Ceiling!!” At this point I feel I can only go forward by MARRYING a pretty woman with FAR MORE CREATIVITY than I have!!! Lol!! 🤣🤣.... shouldn’t be hard to find a pretty lady more creative than MYSELF.... my only concern is..... will she want to hang with ME???👀👀

Could you please share what brand of watercolor is it that you are using???
You are saying Raw Umber. Are you meaning Raw Sienna?
No, it is Raw Umber by Holbein--it's a combo of PBr7, and PY42, a nice yellow-brown
