The p!ss lift has been moved because you could pull the doors open on the lower level and get in. Maidstone isn't quite as bad as Chatham yet!
Nova Lifts are also messing with the lifts in my town and replacing the 1999 Thyssen generics with the exact same crap at 8:57 . The only good thing is I'm getting most of the old parts and buttons

This happened to me as well. A amazing large outdoor shopping centre in leidschenhage is now being completely renevated. All 60s relay kones are gone modded by gen2s. I felt really sad when I saw that. Only older lift remaining is a hydraulic otis 2000

Maidstone is crap nowadays. I used to call Maidstone "Express lift land", but all 6 of them, plus a couple of other old lifts (Old Otis, Otis Bitsa, Marryat Scott etc.) have all been replaced. There is nothing left of interest there anymore.
I found my first OTIS Series 1 this week but sadly it is in the process of being "refurbished" - meaning replaced. There is a very slim chance I might get the old buttons though
10:12 that 2007 East Lances Myllennium is still in service its sadly with Tunbridge Wells now which sucks but you will still see it on the route 6 and 7 to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells
Express and Evans used to be good lift companies. Now the branding is used for low end lifts. Intel Pentium used to be flagships. Now those are low end budget processors (the new one)
I think a lot of Modernization get done for disability reasons. A lot of of lifts have buttons that are too high for people in wheelchairs. A lot of old lifts have buttons that do not light up or beep. I noticed that the lift modded with Lester controls buttons at the end of this video also has braille, which is something is standard in many countries now (though not the UK I believe). As time progresses, I think we'll start to see braille lift buttons more frequently. In one of mrmattandmrchay's videos, he explained the reason you get a lot of those really long 7 thin call stations is becuase the new buttons has been wired in the same place as the original button, which is higher up. The call station is so big, becuase it hides to wires.
Actually Ben that sprinter van in the bus station are actually quite nice. I have been in some executive sprinter vans they have really nice interiors but they are front engine ugh
I've been in aeroplane gen2 lifts in Australia. (But wasn't able to get a full ride from top to bottom in the busy lift, so can't hear the full aeroplane voice) Also Heathrow airport (you've been in this one) has a glass aeroplane gen2 lift.
I quite dig that mall! It does have some nice 70's / early 80's looking ceilings with that diagonal design ad colour scheme. The waffle slab ceilings in the secret basement and bus stop always put a smile on my face when I see them. The 6 lifts are bit odd. Why would they make one giant set of 6? It's very confusing and a bit overkill for that building. A 2x3 or 3x2 set would seem more logical to me.
If Your Ever Down In Plymouth Again I Know Some Lifts You Missed Last Time Witch Are Currently Still Old, and a glass lift in a car park witch i think is the oldest lift and is not square shaped by the looks of it witch i think is a old O&K, and the old toys r us car park one still works and is a pee smelling one, old kone i believe, and in the city hall another old kone.... im making a list of the known lifts spots in plymouth if you want it as i have no clue what if any are modded, about 3 or 4 still are old and a gated lift in a car park
as the old toys r us lift is located outside of the shutters outside the shop itself with a broken motor room door, so still can be used but just takes you to the carpark not inside the shop, though looks like you can get inside the shop via a bridge witch used to go along the roof of the shop, (walk along the bridge look down at the toys) lift went there too
The buttons have been replaced with horrid DMG buttons. It also has probably had the logic changed. As they are used the cheapest buttons they could, I am guessing it is the same with the logic, so probably a chinese circuit board logic, or iMem ascensores.
