Being big doesn't equate to strength and this is a definite example of that. I agree with everything you said aside from that bit about hitting hard. She's wailing on those things she's just in control and sure she's not very big but look at her arms and I'm sure her back is absolutely shredded. Lean powerhouse with immaculate precision.
Senri was one of the world's best drummers back when she was only 16... I've been playing and teaching for over 50 years and I do know what I am talking about.
Search: Senri Kawaguchi Blowin' Luv. There's a three minute piano intro ... then the band gets together. Then at 7 minutes Senri says, "Oh take a break guys. I got this." It's the most phenom thing i've ever seen.
She's a superhero in disguise. Tiny and cute, looks like she's going out for a picnic but throw her a drum set and watch the magic happen. Saving our mind and soul from all the clutter and stress, she brings happiness to those that listen.

I have been following Senri for years on YT. Not only is her ability and technique incredible but for a small girl she has so much power! amazing drummer!
I appreciate your comment...for me, it's not just how a drummer sounds, it's also the visual performance - the smile, the fluidity and gracefulness of their playing, etc...some drummers appear stiff to me, and this can detract from my enjoyment of watching them...

@@nst.pierre9800 Hi, I checked out at least parts of several Junna vids...laying aside the point that I'm not a fan of heavy metal music, thus far her technical skills range seems limited to heavy metal drumming...can she play jazz or jazz fusion?...also, other female drummers I've seen - including Anika Nilles, Senri Kawaguchi, and Emanuelle Caplette - also seem to put heart into their drumming...blessings...
@@davidseres3030 As far as I know Junna sticks to metal. Though I'm sure should could play other styles. I absolutely agree the women you mentioned play with a lot of heart and are probably better technically speaking(Senri Kawaguchi for sure). My point was that Junna puts on a hell of a show while playing and that the energy she puts out is infectious. Another to check out is Akane Hirose from Band Maid. Shes incredible also while putting on a show. If you decide to check her out I recommend "freedom" live version. She has a solo in it.

Control, versatility, pocket.... looked up her up. Definitely could hear the fusion elements and the jazz. You can tell she's formally trained and put in WORK. Keep practicing folks. She's paid her dues.
I have been living for more that 40 years with my bass and rhythm (and following her for a while ) . This time it is really too much : she managed to make me cry ...of enjoyment and happiness .
This is super cool. By far the best work I’ve heard her play, and some of the top material I’ve heard on drumeo as far as my subjective enjoyment of drum playthroughs go. I have seen a couple videos of her playing and was honestly convinced she only solo’ed. I’m so excited to see she’s got groove chops and gospel time feel too. What an amazing player.

Her internal meter is incredible, and if the 'lead' player goes off, she takes control and instantly drags everyone back, never missing a beat. She is truly 'driving the vibe'. Incredible.
Phenomenal as always. Very proficient and clean. Fast but precise. What I like about Senri as a drummer. Gets me in the mood to practice more myself. :)
Chops aside, Senri has some really nice musical ideas. Her fill coming out of the ride/hats breakdown was very pretty. Really like her ride cymbal patter at times too, very reserved. Xould have been more linear but she chose to accent only two notes. Really clever, pretty stuff

I dunno, I've been following her career for a few years now, via RUclips, and watching her progression, and hearing those little 'clicks' as she surpasses one famous drummer, then *click* a better one, then *click* a better one then *click*........ I don't think it's hyperbole to say that she's on track to perhaps becoming the Greatest Drummer Of All Time®, and at an incredibly young age. Just flawless.
You can tell when she nails something that she's been working on.. she gets a great big smile on her face when it goes just right.

If you want to be really amazed, play this at .5 or .75 speed and see how tight she is, in the pocket, groove, everything. Insane.
