- Very fortunate to be able to conduct a remote Q+A session with Nay Myo Zin, a former Myanmar Army officer who then went on to work as a democracy activist, spending long periods in jail before recently joining the anti-junta resistance forces in Burma.
And apologies to Nay Myo Zin for any mistakes in my subtitles.

As an Australian it's sad to see how our Government does not show support for the rights of freedom of countries that are our neighbours.
Thanks Ed excellent interview , thanks also to Nay Myo Zin for relating his story and the current situation in Burma
You're the only person covering this conflict I've seen anywhere. Great work!
Thankyou Ed. You're the tiny glint of light in this ravaged countries lack of publicity . Let us hope that Nay Myo Zin ' s wishes come true . .....a very intellectual person indeed .
Now that´s something special, you are completely unique with this interview, great work.
He is our Hero. We want him to be a leader of Myanmar Army.
Not Myanmar, but Burmese Army.
This is amazing. He seems like an amazing patriot. Kudos to Ed to sharing his story
Glory and victory to Nay Myo Zin!
And thanks to Ed Nash being one of the very few to be covering this at all in the West.
Stop deleting all my comments RUclips!
He is one of our heroes. He fought military dictatorship even long before military coup.
I have been in Myanmar/Burma some year ago. Beatyful country and nice people. Such a pity whats happening there 😕
Fascinating interview, great to hear directly from those brave people fighting against the Junta. Such a shame this struggle seems to being ignored by much of the worlds governments.
Thank you so much appreciate Ed, support you give to the Burmese /Myanmar people ❤❤.
Fingers all crossed for you on this one Ed. I really hope your audience take the time to listen to Nay's story & share it. Nay tries his best to explain a really hot mess.
No faith can be put in the West [eg Australia] helping, it won't happen. But I am equally uncertain how much faith can ever be put in Thailand, they are busy double dealing with the CCP. India, oth, has the means to sort it out & is a friend.
It may end up a choice between India & the CCP for Burma. My hope is that India comes out swinging for the Burmese people one day soon, as the CCP will want a dictator they can deal with. It's a terrible mess, I hope the conscription backfires, it is a risky move. Cheers Ed & love to Burma.
I really hope the people of Burma can sort this out and deal with these dictators once and for all
India is the most unreliable partner of all despite being a democratic country. China does not care about Myanmar's political system as long as it serves China's interests. Meanwhile India has been supporting the junta all this time, At least China has called for change
Thanks for making this video. We were really thinking that Myanmar was already on the right path to democracy before the military coup happened.
pls,save Myanmar
Have you seen his videos negotiating surrender in front of enemy bases with big speakers amidst aerial bombings and artillery fire? This dude is a gem.
I admire the people of Myanmar for taking a stand and fighting for a better future for themselves. I can't imagine how difficult a decision it must be to take up arms, knowing the scars it may leave on your home. But I appreciate how necessary it is, knowing how much deeper the scars of dictatorship leave.
We who live in democratic states already need to shame our leaders into remembering why it is important to support those who struggle every day to obtain the freedoms we so readily take for granted. Those who battle for their right to have their fair say know all too well how quickly the black rot of authoritarianism seeps into our society and destroys all we hold dear.
For everyone out there who doesn't know what they can do to support the people of Myanmar, simply have a conversation with a friend, a family member, or anyone willing to listen, and tell them about their struggle for a better life. Our words have power and a simple conversation will spread until it reaches the ears of those who have the ability and will to give the freedom fighters what they need to achieve success.
Great video. It feels like global media has forgotten about Myanmar due to it's obsession with israel and Ukraine
It’s because they aren’t white
Thanks Ed for all the support that you give to the Burmese people.

Thanks Ed, love the insight.
Thats a great interview Ed.
Thanks
The lack of western media coverage in Myanmar is distressing.
I think he is a little optimistic on a federal union in less than a year. We can dream but i think thats too fast
A very interesting guest

the defeat of fascism in Burma will be a defeat for fascism everywhere.
I hope the Burmese people win their struggle for freedom,
and show others who are battling against the forces of repression,
that it *can* be vanquished.
I get he's putting up an optimistic front, but I'd like to hear more on how well the various resistance groups work together and if they have compatible goals. It seems there is a real possibility that if the junta falls the groups could devolve into separate mini states.
Thank you so much 🌟🌟🌟
🌟🌟🌟 We reject Military Coup .
We strongly supported to The People's deference force and EAOs .

Thank you Ed .
I recommend you touch base with 2 different commentators ( Preston Stewart and David Zhang ) whose commentaries vary but overlap yours slightly. I believe you all compliment each other in balanced eye on the world .
Some of the subjects you all cover overlap . And you all diverge into different areas as well .
Thanks Ed for your great information.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll check them out.
Thanks ❤❤❤
This guy explains better than the NUG does.

This one hasn't been. If you tried to include a URL or used any swearing YT will definitely delete.
@@skepticalbadgerNo mate, just a simple post recognising Nay's courage, and glad he got his family to safety.. tried twice
You're right about UR"s and swearing, and that's not the least of what their bot's think is "unsavoury", been on YT long enough to know that, Thanks.
Sometimes it's just due to network lag, other times just no reasoning.

Great job getting this guy to read out your scripted words! Outside powers who are not from the region need to stay out and not add fuel to the fire.
You haven’t seen him asking enemy to surrender with loud speakers amidst Ariel bombings then.

Just go ahead and admit you're jealous of someone who is multilingual. As with many public interviews of celebrities and politicians, interview questions are routinely submitted to the interviewee in advance. The man is director of recruiting and appears to be a public face of the movement. It's completely sensible he wrote down his responses in advance to be sure he made them understandable in a language that is not his primary one.
@@chriskortan1530 jealous? Lol. There’s more to it than being multilingual. What interest does your guy have in Myanmar?
@@BklynMassive I'm not sure if your being deliberately obtuse or are just new and unfamiliar with Ed's channel? Ed is one of the few covering the conflict in Myanmar. He has close relations with some of the Karen groups. While I don't think he visited to participate as he did with the Kurds, if I remember correctly he has been there. I'm also not sure why you are in support of a military dictatorship that overthrew a democraticly elected government. Additionally, much like the Kurds, western powers have used the Karens and then cast them aside. In an ideal world, there is a moral obligation to help them.
Politicians listen.

You must be demented
To kill your own people
You have no right to rule.
Fuck off the face of this world.
