  • Yes a lot of hard work went into building my driveway. When you are on a budget, sometimes you have to put in an extra effort to get things done and that is what I did to build my driveway. It all started with cutting down a tree, removing the root and then a lot of digging to get it done. But it looks great.

It was definitely good exercise but I have to admit, I was pretty sore at the begging and wondered what the hell was I doing but I got er done. Very nice to have a driveway. Thanks. Stevo

I was a helper on a construction job and the Boss asked why are you screwing the stakes on the board first ..I told him so
I can pound the board down level .The forming Guy said wow I have been lifting the board up and down and then putting the screws
    or nails in it
    😂

It only made sense to do it that way. The first board is always the hardest then it goes pretty smooth after that. Glad I have a driveway now. Thanks. Stevo

It was a therapy job of sorts. Everyday I would get some exercise by loading a trailer full of dirt and then do it all over again the next day. There were rain days so I did get some breaks. Thanks. Stevo

@@haneyoakie14 That is right. I made sure I have a good gravel base, about 6 inches, so that in the future concrete would be easy. I am just using my truck to compact it so one should leave it a year before doing concrete. I don't know if I will go there. Stevo

Well Stevo you're definitely not afraid of hard work. I appreciate that about you. I had to ice my back and knees down just watching the video. One thing I learned having to fill holes in my driveway is it always takes way more gravel than you thought. I always say when I win the lottery I'm going to pave my half mile long driveway 🤣 Why do we park in a driveway and drive in a parkway???

    • @stevoj8959

I used the excuse that I was digging for the exercise but it was starting to wear thin in the end. I will admit that I was pretty sore at the beginning. Lotto money would pay for concrete. I guess we will have to put up with a little gravel. Thanks Dave. Stevo

Nope not me. I agree with the Bobcat thingy. Me to old to do any of that. As long as you did it at your pace and enjoyed the activity it is all good. I can not believe all the hard stuff you do. I would have crushed my house or neighbors with that large tree. Great job. Thanks for the videos.

Yep. The driveway was the reason for the total root removal. Normally you just cut the roots and take out the stumps but I had to remove the roots. Love the driveway. Would have been easier if I threw a lot of money at it but where is the fun. Thanks. stevo
