Scout team’s job is to help prepare the starters by running plays that show them the tendencies of the opponent. With the coach directing them to the most common ones (the flat), they were overly focused on the flat and gave up the post (deep route) for a TD. The scout quarterback was showing at practice that the defense was leaving the Post open. He was redirected to just throw the flat. So they never learned and the opponent scored on gameday.
