Still one of his best songs. Something about the rhythm in the verses is just magical. Love his early tones on this album. The solo is pure fire as well. I'm checking out a vintage Cry Baby Sepulveda tomorrow because of your help. I'm really excited!
What a coincidence. I was just watching Gary Moore rip up his version of Hey Joe with Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell and I then switch to Subscriptions and the first thing that pops up Nik doing this great lesson. Awesome.
I think to myself…. Jimi never sat back and constructed who he was, he did his thing and so happens it brought the world together. You have this quality my friend. Thank you for never investing time in the perfect back drop or camera angle. Thank you for being a real person that just happens to be a musical genius. Hats off to you
The walk up always reminded me of when i was a kid In Pentecostal church everyone gets possessed by the Holy Ghost & that run is like that bass line that the guy is playing the entire time while everyone is running around crazy. I heard someone else mention this also on RUclips somewhere. Cool that I’m not the only one that thought that
As always Nik.. absolutely stunningly licks and variation of various players here. You truly are an absolute gear freak - and the rest of us loves it. From settings on our beloved Tubescreamer to how SRV in 87’ had a different sound and energy, touch…… yadadadada. You’re awesome man. Love when you do short videos like this. Much love from a fellow player in Denmark 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Cool video - huge Hendrix fan here and I've watched a lot of your videos but the Jimi ones are the coolest (biased of course ). Anyway, you had a vid where you talked about helping out with giving your opinion on a vintage (semi-vintage for my budget) axe. Once I get the cash together (someday) I'm going to hit you up to get your opinion. Rock on dude

Hey nik, I’m very interested in the embellishments you used in the beginning. If you’d ever do a lesson on hey joe embellishments
How important is playing the G a la Jimi, with the thumb over the E string?
Not important. Its just easy for me
