    The difference in not just your leg position but your position is every way looks so much more stable, support and surcore. Also the difference in the horse's and the way they are going is so much better. I can't wait to see what how much you and your horses improve over the time with getting used to how the saddles fit better for the horse's.

    Wow Ashley, what a difference these fabulous Devoucoux saddles have made to you, even though years out of the horse world, I can definitely see a change in your seating and leg position, yes I did go back and look at previous Vlogs so it did not look I was talking bunkum. They are indeed exquisitely made, and the little pink edging, I love that, that is you, so nice to have a bit of your show colours in the detail.
    Loved the update at the end, I cannot wait to see how Zebedee looks and performs in his new saddle, but you sound beyond thrilled with all the boys and how they are settling in to these new saddles, of course there will be adjustment period for you all, but how can these fail with the attention to fitting as witnessed early in the video.
    I really really enjoyed this vlog, you shared with us something completely different, and yet important, good tack, good results is what we used to say in my day. Congratulations on your working with Devoucoux, a partnership made in heaven I think.

    I am so far from being an expert (or even marginally knowledgeable!) to judge how someone is riding, but you look so much more comfortable & secure in these saddles, like you can now concentrate on the horse instead of being concerned with how you are in the saddle. Just more natural, so that you can be the rider you are meant to be. Horses looked happier, my favorite was Zeb showing off a flying lead change---are you SURE he's 21 and maybe not 15, b/c math is hard & he just doesn't look like a senior boy. The real test, though, is how Zeb only made ONE crabby comment & never asked to go XC, so his new saddles must agree with him! Mmmm, I can smell that new-saddle scent right now, if only they could bottle it...

    Dressage rider here, that dressage saddle looks dreamy! I love the height of the cantle and how low the pommel is compared to some! You must feel so snug in it! Finding the right saddle that fits both you and your horse is paramount! It took me years to find one that didn't cause me serious 'nether region' issues and then had it fitted to my horse perfectly and what a difference!! My position improved and his performance improved over night! I have never seen such large knee rolls and they seem to do the trick for you! And the jumper saddle is lovely too! I love that it has more meat to it! When I rode jumpers my trainers insisted on that old Hermès copy pancake saddle with no padding no knee rolls, no nothing and felt like cement! I wanted to ask you, did I see one with a split cantle? I've never seen anything like that, may I ask what the benefit is? It looks cool no matter what!

    Congratulations on a new sponsor! I have a question since I just looked at a used Devoucoux. Since you got yours made for you, why not go for a shorter flap on the dressage saddles so that more of your leg is in direct contact with the horse (like men get with their long legs)? I personally love dressage, but hate dressage saddles, as I feel like I can't get in contact with the horse because my leg aides just go in to the leather of the saddle. If I could afford (or be sponsored) with a saddle, that would be a thing I would look for.
    I love the look of the Devoucoux saddles, but they have no retailer in my country, so it is what can be found used...

    • @ashleyharrisoneventing

      Dressage saddles are designed with the longer flap so you can sit more in the saddle - I am very happy with the Devoucoux 😊

    • @JustHorseyMie
      @JustHorseyMie Месяц назад

      @@ashleyharrisoneventing I know, but the flaps are designed for long legged men, and to get the same feel it would be natural for women to have a much shorter flap to get more contact with the horse, like men, instead of giving aides through thick leather

    Does Zeb tend to get lazy and suck back/not work properly at home compared to competitions? Couldn’t help but notice he’s very behind the vertical in both new saddles you rode in compared to Erol who had a much nicer frame. Genuine question, not hate or nitpicky!

    • @ashleyharrisoneventing
      @ashleyharrisoneventing Месяц назад

      His natural way of going is to drop behind the vertical and not work over his back- we have had to work hard at this for the whole time I have had him 😊
