York is a good university with excellent professors, departments, students and research. Not sure why anyone would suggest it's an institution that is looked down on. Maybe that's just meant as click bait. Just checked back in after a long absence. I was surprised to see this title.
Hey Christine, good to see you again. That's why I put that question mark in the title. York U is often picked on here in Toronto for various reasons whether deservedly or not. Some people obviously think it's great, but many others don't have anything good to say about it. I'm neutral, but curious.
I may be able to provide some insight here. York has chosen to distinguish itself as a beacon of Liberalism over the years. They are a go-to for all types of Social Studies programs which are steeped in the principles of Critical Theory. This sort of place, where political ideology is given priority over critical thinking and honest discussions shouldn't be taken seriously.

The Hamas-loving wing of York has made it much more difficult in the future for all students. My husband runs a large business and basically would rethink hiring from York now.
Good to see the York University is a leading in protest and chants! Be careful cuz you can slip on the snowflake tears as well be careful of some of the bleeding hearts make a mess on the floor-- you can slip 😂
