This thing terrified me when I started playing Violet. It looked pretty harmless at first, just a doofy, early area bird, no big deal. This thing Double Kicked my Fuecoco, knocked it out and when I ran it chased me. After the ordeal I looked at it's stats and found the reason why my flesh was stripped in seconds. This thing does not feel mercy. It is a cruel and cold bird of prey. Those eyes should tell you everything.
I had basically the same experience, except it wiped out three of my mons and left the last with barely a sliver before I could catch it. This thing is a monster.
There’s also always a shortage of good flying damage in every format and the flamingo hits a lot harder than people expect. That helps set it apart from H-decidueye, which has similar traits otherwise.
Toxic it was, it still was one of the funniest gimmicks to me. "Oops my Dondozo ate my Tatsugiri and now my Flamigo will cheer him up by can-can dancing on opponents' fainted pokemon"
Always loved the guy. Ik it's very hated for literally just being a flamingo, including it's name, but imo that's what makes it funny. Just like how goofy dudunsparce is
I unironically believe that people who hate dudunsparce for not being a cool badass dragon are fake dunsparce fans and have missed the point and I will gaslight everyone into believing it too if I have the chance
I'm not gonna claim I started anything, but literally since day one of Reg H I've been using Scrappy Focus Sash Flamigo. People were constantly asking me why but now they see the power of the 'Migo
Oh Flamigo, my absolute favorite Gen 9 mon. Saw this guy for the first time while watching a stream of the leaks, immediately knew I was going to catch it as soon as I got pokeballs. No clue who decided a mon with 115 base attack should spawn in literally the first area of the game, but I'm grateful for it because Flamigo basically became my starter pokemon, and single-handedly took on almost every boss encounter of the game.
while the muk strategy was extremely annoying, costar has honestly been super fun to build around since it basically doubles the reward for building silly boost teams, as soon as you manage to set something up with any kind of boosts flamigo the f*cking frightening fighting flamingo can switch in, yoink the boosts and go to work which makes boosting stats way more viable as an archetype
I remember an old team based around anger point krookodile, and meowscarada. Turn one (considering no fake out or priority to ruin it) you flower trick into krookodile taking it down to salac range and giving it max attack, then you earthquake with krookodile taking meows into overgrow range and triggering eject button. Then you go into sableye or flamigo. Flamigo immediately poppy's the boosts, while sabe can psych up the next turn. Also you can add in 2 others for specific matchups and whatnot. Such a fun gimmic team. Easily disruptable, but it caught me so off guard first time I faced it. What's even better is the evs were manipulated in ways to just barely get the mons into their respective ranges
In my casual playthrough of SCVL I caught a flamigo with no real goal and it one shot a field mon. Kicked it to death. Named him Kicker, as in “now heres the kicker.” With investment, he was one shotting titans. I still think about him randomly and laugh.
Flamigo was one of my favourite pokemon to use in my first playthrough. Its BST is surprisingly high for a pokemon you can catch before you even reach the school for the first time, and I'm glad its reaching success despite the relatively low BST compared to other commonly used pokemon.
I love flamigos kit n stuff but it really needs an evolution to expand on some of its lore, like how it stores a bunch of energy in its stomach Honestly I may just replace my h-decidueye with it, I usually run brave bird anyways and then I'd be more likely to survive a flying hit w/o tera
I had this really silly strat of using a Falinks with weakness policy alongside a clefairy with follow me and misty explosion. Have the falinks use no retreat on turn 1 with the clefairy using follow me, then on turn 2, have the falinks endure and the clefairy misty explosion. This triggers the weakness policy while falinks can remain on the field. Then you send in Flamigo next to the Falinks for the giga stat boosts. Honesty it kinda sucked lol

I had a team with the flamingo with the sword dog where if I led with those two I had both at +1 for a quick offensive lead. Annoyingly intimidate would remove at least the dog’s and the bird’s sense I ran focus sash
Its... fine? I never felt the itch to use it like I have other athletic bird pokemon though. Its typing feels off, ngl? But this thing feels ripe for a variant, or maybe it will kill with the next gimmick idk
i haven't played a new pokemon game in forever so i thought this was literally just about the animal flamingo before i clicked. at that point, with that design, why don't they just call it flamingo, like fuck it dude

it's nice to see flamigo move on from it's dark age as the alolan muk support, our bird friend now has a pretty epic niche
I’m really hoping alolan muk will get its own video. It’s crazy fat on the special side.
This is phrased like Flamigo overcame their muk addiction

Thank you for reminding me, I still need to shiny hunt a Flamigo :)
. . .I'll get around to it at some point
I've been going through your videos and God I love the humor so much. Thank you so much for making these powerpoints.
NOOOOOO I was working on making a Flamigo presentation as a parody! Nice video still! I’m its biggest fan.
I fear the day ewg runs out of scrappy jokes
flamigo is so cool
ong this is my favorite pokemon
I used it with Coalossal early on in SV

As a ravens fan I love the ray lewis graphic while talking about baltimore lol
Loved the edits at the end
Feint is very useful on Flamigo, since it allows it to break protect even on ghost types

Despite it being double flying. I love this thing next to an oricorio with an H-lilgant or a fancy dancy smeargle

Something flashy you can also do with Flamigo is feint on ghost types
Murkrow usage is about to increase I bet because of Flamigo and Dondozo-giri

Flamigo 🦩 does remind us of Seel,Haunter names back then right? It's simple & Pink. An adorable Pokémon indeed
It took 95 seconds for incineroar to appear in this video about flamigo
I'm sorry, dude. I love Costar.
