    Thing is, bamboozler mains popped off when MPU was removed, MPU ruined the weapon's gimmick, it just wasn't bamboo anymore. And the nerfs made it so bamboo was slower, had less shots and was less mobile, which is its thing, instead of nerfing mpu. Now that it's gone, the only thing stopping bamboo from being highly competitive is that its first kit is weak and the paint bug makes the weapon nearly unplayable on certain maps. If they fix the paint bug, which will apparently take longer than getting mk2 somehow, then we might actually see it shine.

    The singular thing that makes me slightly bummed about bamboo's objective W of getting fizzy is that bamboo has historically never had a repeat sub, so this thing getting fizzy back while Glooga is now the only S2 fizzy weapon not to get fizzy back is kinda an oof. Especially with the terrible fizzy distribution (not even number of weapons, just the choices of which weapons).
    Still though I'm over it (I like Glooga Deco) and I'm extremely happy for the bamboo players out there, you deserved a W kit like this for waiting this long

      Fizzy works really well with Bamboo. Hopefully it’ll be like Machine where in the next game one of its kits get fizzy and maybe an even better special (though honestly, super chump isn’t bad with bamboo).

    Genuinely so glad bamboo got a good kit. I’ve always loved this weapon, and personally even if it doesn’t place high in the meta, it’s still my passion to use it.

      Same MK lll in S2 was turning into a 3rd main for me… and then S3 came out and the kit for it had me dying. So glad I have a reason to play it again!

    Pretty sure this is why it didn't paint ramp:
    - Every weapon paints with.. let's call them "painting bullets", which I'll call PBs from here
    - PBs are often separate from the damage dealing shot
    - Typical shooters, for example, fire one main shot, which does damage, paints when it lands (if it didn't land on a target first), and also spawns a few (depending on the weapon) "spray" PBs at certain intervals (also weapon-dependent) along its path
    Most chargers paint by spawning a bunch of little PBs along their line of fire. The bamboozler, however, works a little differently:
    - Since it's always at max range, no matter the charge, they had to adjust its paint so it doesn't fully paint along its line of fire
    - They did this by making it spawn exactly 4 PBs at full charge, and 3 at any other charge
    - The individual PBs paint less when the weapon is charged less, and vice versa
    The problem:
    - There are many separate surfaces on any map, for example the ramp and the platform at the top of the ramp are separate surfaces
    - While they can paint bigger areas, and appear big while they're mid-air, PBs always seem to land on one specific point
    - If this point is close to the edge of a surface, due to the code that puts the paint down seemingly being really bad at taking more than one surface into account, it might end up only painting the exact surface it landed on, possibly cutting off the ink splatter at the edge, even if there's another surface beyond that edge which seems like it should've been painted
    The bamboozler, with its few, but exceptionally large PBs seems to suffer from this the most.

      @@oliviatilleman8055 I see what you mean, but calling it "spaghetti code" shows a lack of understanding of what that term means. "Spaghetti code" refers to code that has to jump back and forth a lot, such as "do this, then GOTO (address0) then do that and GOTO (address1)" - since this style of code often involves really long lines of code, and those long lines are "tangled" by many many GOTO instructions, the code looks like spaghetti to a programmer.
      What's going on here with the Boozler's turf ink output (please why does everyone call it paint it's NOT paint the game goes out of its way to make sure you understand this guys) is simply badly written code. Like I literally agree with you, bad turf inking code has killed me too, it's just that the code that causes this problem is literally not spaghetti code, just BAD code. We should be critical of bad code but we should also be accurate about it :)

    gosh, i'm so sorry, but the way you use the Bamboo in other points of the video bothers me slightly LMAO
    why can't you just use a fully charged shot + 1 tap shot or vice versa? it has minimal range difference whether you charge it or not... you did it mostly during the rest of the video but then you came back to using it like a normal sniper LOL it's not a big deal though, just really bothered me slightly
    you do bring up a lot of good points though! it was really sound: i don't personally agree with some of it since i had success on the vanilla kit and i love how the sub and special set up someone for you to blast them down with the weapon, but you do bring up good points about the vanilla kit and the main weapon as well

    you missed the biggest downside of wail on this weapon: it is so annoying as a bamboo player because it just blocks all of your vision and makes your shots way harder to hit, so the combo is pretty much useless most times. but chumps will be much more helpful. and fizzy is obviously better than auto. the new kit is just straight up better

      Fizz can be used for movement so I kinda agree. It'll at least compensate for the ramp painting thing

    I’m not an expert comp player, but I could see a backless comp like N-Zap/Bamboo/New Heavy Edit working. Maybe throw V-shot in there so the true frontline isn’t just N-Zap, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you could start taking games.
    I feel like this update in general is looking pretty good for team compositions without a true anchor.

    the bamboo paint problem is a problem on every weapon, just you only gonna feel that on chargers, cause they have less droplets while shooting. a droplet cant overlap over more than 1 object so. and because bamboo has only 4 long once its really common that it doesnt really paint anything, the worst part about this is that this exists since splatoon 1 and we will never see bamboo on museum cause of that

    The way you talk about a lot of weapons is like you're holding a particularly gross bug that you know some people are going to find cool (and that you might find cool too), but that you still think is kinda gross.
    Anyways the new bamboo kit looks cool, and if I was any good at chargers I'd consider trying it.

    I like mk2 but prefer mk1 being honest. Super Chump doesn't feel like it does as much as Killer Wail 5.1.

    one thing I really like about this is the mobility the kit provides. The main weapon can paint defensively but when it's trying to go in a bit further it struggles a lot with movement, so this will help those admittedly more niche situations

    On the first bamboo kit. It has unique access to a pseudo autobomb rush with sub saver and the low activation time of Wail. Autobomb is likely the worst bombrush, but it does have that unique niche to flood the enemy area with 4 auto bombs and lasers tracking them.

    I feel like people are sleeping on running bamboo and pencil together. Double charger has only traditionally been a liability because of bad paint and a hard time taking ground, but both of these weapons paint extremely well (with kits accounted for), and while writer does struggle to take space, bamboo absolutely does not in my experience, which is even further helped by chumps providing good delayed paint to encourage a push. I feel like a lot of people are discounting the possibility of running them together just because double charger has always been bad in the past, but personally I don’t see any reason they couldn’t work together

    Bamboo's vanilla kit feels like it wants to be played around the concept of "using autobomb and wail to flush people out of cover, so you can shoot them." Which is like, in theory I see the vision, but in practice the bamboozler by itself isn't quite strong enough to justify a kit based entirely on enabling the main to duel.

    I mean. Honestly I don't see a reason to not run this with snipewriter even if it's a double charger comp. Feels like a flimsy reason to write it off. The chump concern is valid and the midline role is currently pretty contested, but idk I feel like a fizzy in itself can maybe justify it. Combined with a really good main ofc, lots of really good matchups.
