    2 months ago, before Casio was released, I went with Liano and after this video, I'm glad I made a good decision. I work summer season away from home and it's perfect to have it with me, as my digital piano is too heavy for that.

    Thank you very much! I follow you buying a Casio cts1 and it seems I find my perfect portable piano in the casio cts1 61 keys. As I am first a singer acompanied by acoustic guitar, second a fingerpicking guitar soloist with the casio cts1 I also can sing playing along sweet slow piano acompannied songs. Don't think I am going to play complicated piano songs. Thank you very much for so much information

    Hey Jeremy, love your videos. I’m looking for a portable keyboard to use on stage with my band to do simple piano parts in the songs. Only needing probably 66 keys. Would the Casio ct-s1 fill this role? Would the small output jack cause me problems with sending the sound to the front of house mixer ?

  • @05pamar
    @05pamar Месяц назад +2

    Nice, great job! I think the points should be weighted differently because some aspects are more important than others, like sound quality, touch, and speakers, which are more important than the type of connector, for example. However, for someone else, the connector might be important too. Please, if you could do a comparison between the Roland GO 88 and the Liano, that would be great! Best regards.

    I just ordered my Arturia keylab essential 88 mk3 because of you. I was deciding between the donner ddp100 and the arturia. I wanted the donner, but live in an apartment so I wouldnt be getting the most out of it, and also have more plans than just playing piano haha. Thanks for your videos. I can't wait!

    I had already made up my mind on the Korg so thank you for making the numbers suit my choice but really, how close are they all? the Yamaha and the Korg sound better than the calculator but any of these are going to be way more than I can demand, 88 keys has to make the Korg a winner, lucky number 🍀 😉

  • @freddymay2406
    @freddymay2406 2 месяца назад +5

    Korg immediately wins in terms of the number of keys - that's right, besides it has a phased sound (stretched over the panorama) + 120 notes of polyphony - this is already a winner. But judging purely by ear, I would prefer a Yamaha piano. Well, the comparison of organs - as if completely different voices were taken for comparison, everything is difficult to compare here. Considering that you would take either Korg or Casio with you, Korg is the clear leader. Thank you.

    • @kaisfp
      @kaisfp Месяц назад

      For the "Piano 1" sound on Korg (which is (for most usecases) the better one out of its 2 piano sounds), you get only 40 max. polyphony, because that sound is using 3 dynamic layers/samples for each note.

    My thanks to Jeremy for another interesting an informative comparative review.
    88 is not necessarily better IMO. In a piano without fully weighted keys, most of us would never use the end keys. The Liano will not fit across the back seat of a car, and is too long for a small space in a home.
    I prefer 88 keys for home practice, but that is strictly on a weighted action. I use a P-121 on most of my gigs, but Yamaha no longer makes this model. It's very sad that pianists can't easily buy a 73/76-key portable dp with a weighted action anymore.
    Korg makes good products. (virtually always) but in this instance I prefer the Yamaha sounds. Furthermore, the 1st electric piano on the Liano has an exaggerated stereo sampling which is irritating when you are wearing headphones.

    • @jamietopolski4019
      @jamietopolski4019 Месяц назад

      You might like the StudioLogic Numa X 73. It is supposed to have an excellent key action (Fatar TP/110). I agree that 88 is too big to fit in the trunk (without lowering a seat).

    If it would exist, I would buy a truly ultra-portable 61-key version of the Liano.
    I can only hope one day they are making one, or at least a 76-key version.

  • @abath07
    @abath07 Месяц назад +1

    Tip: The Casio feels a lot better when you set the Touch to Heavy. It is as if it becomes a different instrument. The default Touch setting of Medium overreacts and you get explosive forte dynamics instead of reasonable and controllable
    dynamics. It’s like a bull in a china shop treading on feathers.

    Casio sounding compressed might be related to the eq capability suggesting the user should fine tune the sound. A lot of wireless headphones mistakenly demand users to customize the sound to their preference. Casio should learn and know better.

    I've been doing a bit of research and so far my best options are: Yamaha PSR E473, Korg Ek 50, Roland Go keys 3... We currently use a Casio, which we love but we want to try other brands. Please help?

    My ratings: piano: Korg. EP: Yamaha, though I see your point about the Korg. Jazz organ? The Casio, at least in your brief test, has the closest thing to the classic percussion setting utilized by most jazz and rock players (independent of chorus and Leslie of course).
