I feel like he was ahead of his time. While he was accepted and loved by many, the world wasn't entirely ready for his flamboyant charisma in the 80s or 90s.

Out of all of the older celebrities I loved him. He reminded me of Robert Williams to be honest for so many years. Always happy, excited, so wholesome and society really tore him apart all my years growing up. He’s way before my generation but he was one of the wholesome ones from what I saw.

I've always loved Richard Simmons!! He's always so sweet and so positive!!! I am 50 years old and still remember doing Sweating to the Oldies in gym class when I was in elementary school!! It was so fun!! That was always my favorite (along with the parachute!!!)

We all get old and seniors often have medical & physical issues that keep them pretty much home bound. Young people are anxious to be on the go, most seniors are content to enjoy the day. Granted everyone is different.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Richard Simmons ❤❤ some of my happiest grade and high school memories are hanging out in my aunts basement with my mother and the rest of her sisters doing sweating to the oldies, we were all portly and it was family fun time. 30 years later I now do the videos with my teenager 😆 it’s a fun family tradition. That man’s brought this family so much happiness and health ❤
