I've done this method on 3 of my waistcoat and never had problems, note that a dart can be moved depending on the style and garment your making this includes in corset, trouser, pencil skirt even jacket. Hope this help happy sewing.
Hi the front measurement it's 16 inch and for the back it's 14 inch again it's important to use your body measurement since they differ from person to person. 😊
Hi, the 1/2 taken from the back waist is to reduce the bulk that might occur at the back waist of the garment it's not a dart but its "extra fabric " again this is optional depending on how you would want the garment to fit you. so these no need to add it back on the waist if you have decided to remove it.
Dont darts get tapered in the end ? Or tapering of darts is not recommended in vest pattern ?
