Hi, I am from Bangladesh. My mother used all surgery items from Pakistan, Sialkot. She said that it's is the best of Indians and Chinese one. it also the best all over the world.
In 2011, my colleague who belongs to Sialkot-Pakistan gifted me a pair of scissors that he brought abroad as samples to sell. I considered it an extra item and very un-professionally used it and even cut electrical wires. But, believe me, even after 10 years of use, the pair of scissors is in very good condition and without any wear and tear marks. There are no signs of rust and it's shining as steel.
We know this happening for the last 30 years or more. Being a Surgeon I am sure and can confidently say, Pakistani instruments are the best. Unfortunately there are many factors which makes " Made in Pakistan" a sort of hurdle in selling these instruments even to our Muslim brothers in Arab World. There is always negative propaganda against our country and to some extent blame goes to the manufacturer of these instruments. The Germans will never buy substandard instruments and will reject it . Hence manufacturer of these instruments take utmost care in manufacturing. That means quality control and maintaining standard. If we improve that and promote our products, I don't see any reason for not selling our instruments labelled as "Made in Pakistan".
You are spot on , Our Industrialist thinking was & still very Poor, about 4 students from Karachi made first Pakistani car they should be encouraged by any industrialist IF so Pakistan succeeded in making our own Car companies decades ago. Than came Z A Bhutto destructive Nationalisation which totally destroyed any prospect of future development. after that is race of corruptions after corruptions. Still richest peoples in Pakistan do not take brilliant minds from engineering universities under their wings as these students & universities developed numerous projects which can only be succeeded by Funding from our Richest but these are most interested in easy options like Property & stock exchange & taking money out of Pakistan. This leads to Pakistan a import based economy hence always victim of shortfall in foreign reserves.
Besides surgical instruments and sports goods, people of sialkot are specialized in Scottish 🏴 pipe band instruct and police and military badges.

They cannot put made in Pakistan label because they are contract manufacturers. They are doing manufacturing for other companies and have to put those labels which the customer will ask. That's a contract. Like Foxcon cannot put its name on iphone, despite being a manufacturer. Only difference is Apple cannot avoid Made in China label. Because it is such a popular item that every body knows where its made.

The incapability of the owner of the company in Pakistan. He created a big company but can't export with his own name. One of many reasons could be the profit. A German company may be paying more than what he could sell with his own name. But he forgot that this profit may remain constant for for years while with his own name he could have increased profit if his name grows

When technology is from Europe, than label should not be 'Made in Pakistan', technology matters. It is easy to forge and grind but what matters is the metallurgical make up and dimensions of the instruments. Those are from Europe and they deserve credit for it. Significant money id spent by Europe in R&D and they deserve credit.
iPhone is an American technology but when it is manufactured in China the label says Made in China , All the revenue goes to American pocket which is a credit in itself but those who manufacture it has a traditional way of putting a Made in Label,

Actually, Silakoti manufacturers got contract from German or any other clients on the condition if they put Label & logo of their choice, otherwise clients can give contract to any other Supplier. From last couple of years govt. Of Pakistan this is mandatory to put wrote "made in Pakistan" on boxes but not on products. To promote " Made in Pakistan" label we have to launch our own international brands. Companies from Sialkot Pakistan are manufacturer of these products unfortunately they dont own any Brand. Very less Companies selling products on Amazon & Ebay with thier own private label brand names but there are not enough and well know in these field due to other world brand dominance in international markets.

I have worked 6 months in sialkot one of the best surgical instruments making company SURGICON..
