SCTV season 1, episode 4 featuring Ralph Richardson and John Gielgud. Sketches include The Sammy Maudlin Show, $211,000 Triangle, Cooking with LaRue and Crosswords.
“In the beginning there was nothing and the lord said ‘Let there be light’. And there was still nothing but now you could see it”. That’s superior comedy writing.
I read in a history of SCTV that, through clerical error, Ralph Richardson and John Gielgud were paid twice. The producers are unable to get reimbursed and both actors left Toronto with the double paychecks
Just a tremendous, tremendous facility. Everybody says so ! Really just world class, people ! It’s a fabulous facility, really. I build the best convention centers, Trust me !
Can I just say something … for one moment... say what you want about Coltrane and Parker, Vic Hedges is totally underrated as a saxophone player … he’s one of … if not THE best … in the business. (🎤APPLAUSE🎉)
Taken from then-ABC affiliate WPEC CBS 12 in West Palm 👋🏻 Beach 😎, Florida, in the wee hours of June 4, 1986, and originally broadcast 🔊 at 3:30 🕞 am Eastern.
Phil Proctor. Great voice. Great career.

Crosswords is brilliant writing
Eugene Levy ... all I can say is wow! this guy is talented!
My fave, I agree

They reputedly offered to do another skit gratis but they were so unpleasant to work with that SCTV just let them keep the money.
Worth it.
Joe Flaherty is never given enough credit. His Kirk Douglas was hysterical, and don't get me started on Vic Hedges. He'd save your life in a minute.
He is a babe, isn't he?
@@sralyn Yep 👍🏻, he sure is.
Incredible Actors such great talented Artists....I could watch them all day & night ......💗
these were so ahead of their time. timeless funny!
Legend has it, Sammy Maudlin is still in progress.

An Italian law firm, Caruso's favorite bar in Rome, rhymes with "rosy and fruity".
Filmed at the beautiful, downtown Melonville Maralago Convention Center and media lounge facilities.
Just a tremendous, tremendous facility. Everybody says so ! Really just world class, people ! It’s a fabulous facility, really. I build the best convention centers, Trust me !
Bobby Bitman was one of the greatest character EL EVER did!
IM 56 YEAR'S OLD,. I HAVE SO MANY GOOD MEMORIES OF SCTV.
IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE S.
FUCK MAN, THEY'RE ALL TALENTED AND FUNNY...😂😂😂😂
How the heck did they get Sir Ralph Richardson and Sir John Gielgud to do this? It's incredible.
money!
They were probably fans of the show. There were quite a few guest stars during the last few years of the show. Big names in movies and in music.
They were performing at the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario near Toronto.
They were both in Canada and SCTV offered them money.
@@sloangarrett2293Pinter's No Man's Land, probably @ The Royal Alex, Maggie Smith did Stratford.

First there was nothing
Then God said let there be light
Then there was still nothing, but now you could see it
Plan on using the song at 1:04 for my next Joe birthday tribute video.
At 2:29 can anyone translate the Greek letters and words? Does it actually say anything coherent? I would love to know. Thanks

15:15 exorcist of Oz 🤣🤣💀
Proto-William B. looks more like Matt Foley here. 🤔
Seriously Bobby is seriously funny!
Wat I loved was the talent that would do the show nice
He should try wax-on..
Audio/sync is off, on my viewer at least.
