What are you talking about dude? 300 HP is on the high end for the sport compact class. Sub 5s 0-60 with manual. Most of the cars with 400+ OEM not 4 cyls either, and most are about double the price. This $46-48k, and you can spend $55k and still have like a 255-315 HP turbo 4 Cyl with BMW or Audi. Yea "true sweet spot" straight 5 is only gonna run you $70k with a Audi RS3 or TTS RS. I wouldn't sell this 3 cyl so short either. Shops got it running 740whp with stock bottom. 400HP is literally a intake and a tune. The only two 400+ cars you're are getting brand new without spending north of $50k is the Nissan Z with a twin-turbo V6 or the Mustang GT with the good ol American V8. And both of those come with lots of compromises below the $50k mark. 9:17 9:17

Nothing weong with an auto trans if its a good one. The main problem with manual transmissions these days is that most of them aren't that good. Automakers aren't investing that much money in making them engaging.... So people choose the auto or dual clutch, because fiddling with a subpar manual is not fun. Most people are stuck in traffic for large parts of their commute as well. Honda made a brilliant manual in the Civic type R.... Hyundais and Kia's aren't particularly known for great engines and transmissions. Yet you see people buy em, tons of them. Many people enjoy clean looking cars.
This is all Subaru had to do for the WRX. No Cladding (Panel is painted all the way through anyway, no stamping, no 100$ flares clipped and double-sided taped - Money Left over for finishing the paint on rockers and bumpers, keeping current price, Plus no extra cost in developing specific cladding for another Subaru model), 285ish rated hp (Shows progress - but not a STI), Brembo brake kit option available as a Package in Accessories in 2022 (As needed supply - Allocation and separate installation fees administrated by dealer rather than Automaker - Cost Savings).
Three small things = Guaranteed increase in sales. - But even this is too hard. Partly because, maybe there is an agreement since Toyota owns 20% or more of Subaru. Either way... Hatchback, 300hp, AWD, That Diff, Manual, Brakes standard since first release, Toyota can provide this for us, and soon a 2.0liter turbo 300-400hp AWD Celica. I will patiently wait for Subaru to stop dragging a** while enjoying other cars.
I’m sorry but…Grc new bumper is ugly toyota with automatic.. okay great video 👍
i like this car but they should have made a 4 cylinder with 400horsepower. anything below 400 horsepower with todays sports cars and muscle cars and technology is under powered for a sport/race model. i truly dont get why they do this it would cost basically the same to build a 3 cylinder 300hp or 4 cylinder 400hp but the true sweet spot is the 5cylinder turbo audi 2.5t engines capable of 400-1000hp with boost control.
9:17 9:17
And honestly dude just get a American V8.
Unless you got deep pockets don't waste your money trying to get extreme HP out of a 4 Cyl or any German engine.
So an Automatic for the Corolla pretty much
Just don't catch it on fire, Toyota will not cover.
Sad no to the Toyota GR Corolla cause I just watched a video 2 off it got burn while driving on the highway for no reason and the warranty are not covering it 😂😂😂
Bring on the automatics I live in San Francisco F Dat manual ish
Finally. Manual enthusiasts talk about how "we need options!" but lose their minds when it means "offering an automatic". It really gives car enthusiasts in general a bad look.
You just want to play on your phone that's all, 🤣 at least if I need parts I'll see more automatics in the scrap yard because of the accidents.
When they say they want more options, its not the automatic... Maybe sequential, but not automatic.
I think the reason for some is that they wanted to be part of a more exclusive club. When they offer a niche car with automatic they reduce that appeal to the hard core enthusiasts.
@@Will-dw2tr A sequential transmission in a $45K car? Tell me more!
@@revmatchtv That would be a dream come true man! I mean, isn't it time yet? How long still until ICE cars are really forbidden throughout the world? 11 years? I'll say that the manufactorers should give us something to remember!
And beyond that there aren't really any great manual transmissions out there for this price range or below.. perhaps a brz or gr86.
Miata has a fantastic manual!
@@revmatchtv absolutely
It's a great manual. I own a 2024 GR Corolla. It also has rev matching and hill assist.
@@lolatu4402 I'm not saying the GR doesn't have a good one.... I just think in general especially for normal cars. The manuals just aren't that good. On top of that a good dual clutch can be very engaging. I'm a little disappointed that the auto they're putting in this car is not a dual clutch.. but we will see how it does.
@@KC-lg8qf modern autos are as good as if not better than DCTs. My last car was an m240i with the excellent ZF 8-speed. Still I really missed a manual and was stoked to get a new car with one. I'm sure the auto will be faster, but a manual is more fun.
Not a fan of the new front bumper look 🙄
I'd only get this in manual but this should help boost sales at least. But it does feel a little like selling the GRC's soul to the devil for more sales in some ways lol
it doesn't matter if this car burned itself if goes above 85 mph
brand new transmission. im sure there will be no problems at all.
It's made in Japan at least!
Still no armrest with the auto. Come on. Should even have with the manual. It doesn't even need to open, just need a place to rest arm when cruising.
Congrats Toyota, you made and refined an AWD system that’s ALMOST as good as the Evo X 😂😂😂
well hopefully the engine doesn't catch fire and they deny the warranty because you're doing 85 on stock tires
Not an issue just go 3mph faster and go back in time to back before you voided your warranty.
I just yesterday i saw 3 you tube video 2 corolla gr engine catch fire for no reason 1 just blew up all 3 Toyota wouldn't cover them at all. Nad I'll pass.
* cancellation of the supra in the future. The SUPER high price of the NEW MR2 & Celica . Prepare for sandbagging & PRICE GOUGING .
TIME STAMPS
Why the engine will explode quicker than ever
Killed the Circuit Edition?
Technically yes, but they have renamed the trim packages. They seem relatively similar.
Circuit was supposed to be a Limited time trim like the Morizo.
Ok so it's a DCT transmission !! Great
It's not a DCT. It's a torque converter auto, and an integrated LSD.
Still too much money for a Corolla. I could get a Golf R or Audi S3 for the same price.
No question. It really matters what kind of driving experience you need and want. The Germans are both much better daily drivers.
WINDOWS ARE TINTED--am I understand that it comes from the factory with window tinting??????
This is a pre-release vehicle, so I don't think you'll see this tint as standard.
It's quicker because of the automatic. Automatic's beat manuals EVERY time. Now that it has an auto, time to get one!
Let manual rip
Another car that costs way to much. Just got get a mustang gt base and thank me later
I'll still take my Golf R, they are almost there though.
Gonna leave all those noobs that thought manuals were cool in first gear🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the kind of tech you put on a luxury car... you should at least pay 100K to pretend you know how to drive. I am glad I got Gen1... the real race car (whisper: "it has three pedals")
Yea all those rich people tracking their rolls Royce. 😂
You guys like a primitive tribe. Oh, no! Newer and better technology!
(Whispers: "Real race cars have a Sequential bud")
sequential is not automatic... ??? still has a clutch, still needs to shift (and yes they require a level of skill to operate), still needs technique and ingenuity, most of all its expensive AF. its not a paddle shifter. Literally, a 5 Y/o can drive this car now.
@@andrewmerrick601 It's not manual either, it's a simple lever or paddle shifter mechanism. Semi-auto sequentials are a thing my guy. A DCT would give almost the same experience.
A 12 year old could drive it now. It's not that hard. Lol
I had to learn on a big ol diesel, and pull a heavy load with a 20 min crash course. Modern manuals are so much easier to operate. Light clutch pedals, auto rev match, Hill assist, and I think Toyota also has a anti-stall.
They might not become a track star in a day, but a kid could definitely pickup and learn this car pretty quickly.
But a Auto isn't gonna make you a track star right of the bat either. Still gotta learn how to handle the car at high speeds, how to do corners, hairpins.. etc, and how not to go off track.
No shortage of crybabies
Some people don’t want options
Slow on 93 octane 😂
nice reveiew these engines have burned with two customers and transmission toyota is not reimbursing
Great another Toyota part that will eventually blow up.
How
Another girls car.
I know a girl that drives one and she'll kick your ass on any race track.

@@Diddy_Do_It2037 Elaborate
Manual 6 speed😂😂 automatic is ridiculous.. stuoid
The manual will remain an option.
Everyone wanted an arm rest. Nobody asked for an auto.
much better bumper design 🎉🎉
Screw the Automatic
Oh so it just became gay?
Says the guy obsessed with the stick
Till its sitting on the side of the road burning to the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyone who buys a auto car because "its quicker" is a absolute nonce. you're driving to get the groceries, you are just driving as you do on the daily, you arent on a race track as much as you think you wanna be so that split second gear change makes no difference. if you are buying a auto because you are in stop start traffic then maybe you need to remove your ego and realise that a "hot hatch" probably isnt the actual right car for you.
people keep complaining there arent enough fun manual cars these days so please stop turning all the fun ones that are manual into autos
There’s still a manual option and I’d take the manual personally, but I see no issue with adding choice.
Nah auto is logically quicker. Put a professional driver in a manual vs auto and the auto will win every single time. Its common sense really. The manual is just the more fun option which you aren’t understanding.
sorry boomer but majority of people dont wanna row gears in traffic for hours each day.
Exactly, people make the most asinine arguments for “auto is better”. Once you’ve been driving manual for a while, you never think about it.
@@richurro20The majority of people aren't spending hours in traffic anyway either
Boooooooooo to the automatic!
Isn’t the 86 a Corolla
Why they give a 86 to a Subaru
