Hey, good day everybody! Welcome to another garden vlog. In today's video, I'll be talking about the corn that has been growing here for a while. Last year, I had a few issues with the corn due to high winds that caused the plants to tilt and fall over. However, this year, the plants stayed strong, probably because I positioned them in a spot less affected by the wind. I’m thrilled to share that I managed to grow some beautiful corn this season.
    Corn Harvesting Experience:
    Challenges from Previous Years:
Last year, high winds and other issues affected the corn growth.
This year, the corn plants stayed strong, and I was able to harvest a good amount.
    Harvesting and Cooking:
I harvested some corn a few days ago, and they taste amazing.
Cooking method: Boil them, then put them in the oven for a toasty look, and finally add some butter and salt.
    Pest Issues:
Over the years, I’ve noticed a lot of pests trying to eat and live in the corn, such as ants and other small insects.
Although these pests didn’t cause too many problems, they did affect the corn’s appearance and sometimes caused mold.
    Pollination Problems:
Proper pollination is crucial for corn. When the hairs (silks) of the corn are not pollinated correctly, the result is uneven kernel development.
This year, I noticed that some corn was not pollinated well, leading to poor kernel formation.
    Tips for Growing Corn:
    Pollination:
Ensure the corn silks are pollinated by shaking the tassels to release pollen onto the silks.
Manually pollinate by collecting pollen and applying it to the silks.
    Positioning:
Plant corn in a spot less affected by wind to avoid plants falling over.
    Pest Control:
Monitor for pests and take necessary actions to prevent them from affecting the corn.
