As a Nigerian, i can just imagine our OGs like 2face, Dbanj, P'square, and the president son or daughter making a press conference to initiate a policy to limit or ban influx of foreign songs in Nigeria. Do your thing in silence and let the results show. Ghana is always late, reason why Nigerians are smarter, such policy is only effective like 10-15 years ago, in the CD era, we're in a streaming internet era. Youth of nowadays hardly listen to radio or watch terrestrial TV. When other Africans say foreign, it means Nigeria, but when Nigeria say foreign, it actually means foreign. That the difference.

Nigerians control the Africa Music Industry especially in the West Africa Region so we can bring down any musician in West Africa.

This legislation is just on paper, it is not adhered to In Nigeria besides the WWW has made legislation obsolete. The co-operation Nigeria offers to the Ghana music industry does outweigh the benefit of this dragging and brainless legislation. Ghana "protected" their Movie industry into oblivion just because they wanted to exclude Nigeria , the same history is playing out in the music industry as we speak.

I've been listening to some of the feedback regarding this. First of all some corrections. SA policies are defined by govenment-owned agencies, not private entities like Deejays. Ghanians that keep talking about the protectionist policies should do some research. Having said that, it is important that we all understand that people have the right to do what they want. It is also important to realize that this works on both sides. If the US decides today to stop importing Chinese solar panels, China would respond by not buying US wheat. This is how protectionism works. For some Ghanians not to understand this is baffling. On a personal level it is even more powerful because individuals mostly operate on emotions. The reaction by some Nigerians in response to the Ghana proclamation should have been expected. Especially when a guy whose music is relevant and bigger in Nigeria than Ghana is the face of it. It would be like Drake holding a press conference in Toronto asking Canadians to only play Canadian music. STUPID! The advantages that Nigeria has over Ghana in entertainment are massive (larger population, larger diaspora population, more resources etc, etc). This stupidity mentality amongst Africans (and I include Nigerians) is why slavery worked.

4.Nigerian Music has never required support from Ghana.
    5. We wish you well on your journey

Ghana is wasting its time with these silly regulations banning 'foreign' (ie NIGERIAN) music. What they need to do is find and fund/groom their own 'Don Jazzy' personalities who can sniff out local musical talents, as the current talents are likely not the best the country has to offer, with better, upcoming talents not getting the right recognition/support/exposure etc.

Ghana should stop competing with Nigeria simply because Nigeria does not see them as one.
Let them enact whatever entertainment policies they wish in their own country; it would have no impact on the Nigerian entertainment business.
They are making bad decisions in their entertainment sector, particularly with this current play ghana policy, because they continue to consider Nigeria as a rival, therefore they impose regulations similar to those used in their movie industry to stop, combat, and block Nigeria.
    However, it always backfires.
