Randomly got recommended this video and it definitely shows an interesting side to vending! Also I see alot of the comments show that people don't really understand why some choose to accept a far lower than price than actual value.
To put it simply: When you sell to a vendor you are "paying" to have the convenience of getting your cash right then and there. Vendors have to wait until someone comes along to buy it. And when you are dealing with collectibles, sometimes that can take awhile. But utility and rent companies don't give a shit if you technically have the money. All they care about is if you can pay them when the bill is due.
So even if the vendor will potentially make a large profit off a buy, sometimes they don't have the luxury of waiting around until it sells.

You know when a vendor buys you out that your prices are affordable, sadly it’s the families that lose out cause they have to pay more
I know that channel on what not and let me tell you that they make way more money on the cards than what they actually comp for
@@c7a865 Of course they make money, but they are making it off 'cheap' cards, which means they need to sell a lot to make a profit. At the end of the day, like I said, the fact that other sellers are buying their cards says a lot

It's probably expected for you to give the shout out, but vortex breaks is where you go to overpay. WhatNot in general is where you go to overpay for cards. I would just tread with caution if your a new collector. Always price check, make sure your not overbidding. It prays on compulsion buying.
I know you said 65% is what you comped the binders at but it would be really cool to know the price if you are able to share it! Nice video :)

@@Greta_Traderberg gotta be careful in this space for this exact reason. I had some guy show me old comps on giratina full arts today trying to offer me $150, vendors completely take advantage of those with just not enough knowledge on pricing and conditions

I always lol when someone potentially buying all calm like bull shits the seller for a better deal. Like that BS about people not paying a premium for black label or pristine cards. People drop absurd money everyday on black labels and if he had black labels he would ask that price also.

We have an affiliate link in the video description to the online company that we bought the mat from. I highly recommend them despite the slightly higher price compared to other companies as the quality of the mat is superb!

Very cool you guys seem to be very fair.I myself can't deal with Pokemon cards anymore I have had a collection for 8 months that I will admit is mostly bulk but it has 100s of rare foils/promos and rares and also a good bit of vintage stuff and then all the dice boxes books tins ect ect that you would get with a normal collection.And it just won't sell listed for $250 on Ebay and with the almost 400 rares and then another 300+ common/uncommon foils and the 50 or so non bulk full arts,rares,promos ect along with the older stuff you would think someone would buy it just to make repacks.But idk people are just really not spending money right now I make my money on vintage toys/video games and even that has been slow already compared to last year.
Times are definitely rough at the moment although it may be tough to grasp. We have definitely seen the impact that the current economy has had on our business and how we've had to operate as of late.

Gotta disagree with you on this. Bgs black label doesn’t equal psa 10. Not even close. You’ll never get a bgs 10 black label if you crack open a psa 10 and you’d be lucky if you can convert a psa 10 into a bgs gold label.
A psa 10 you’ll find imperfections ALMOST every time specially the older slabs that’s started developing whitening on the edges from all that rattling in the slab. Bgs 10 gold label it’s rare you’ll find imperfections let alone a black label.
Bgs 10 gold or black label is harder to move because it DEMANDS the premium.

A bgs 10 black label and a psa 10 both are priced the same..which would you take? We both know the answer to this
For clarification, a BGS 9.5, BGS 10, and a BGS black label if crossed over should all receive a PSA 10. We never stated a PSA 10 equals a BGS equivalent. The major difference is price, hopefully that conveyed clearly enough in the video.
I think he is saying that there are more poor people than rich people. So PSA10 is good enough to satisfy most of us, the poor.
How you rate the buy price ?
Our buying prices are on a sliding scale depending the price point, but for mid to high end cards, we typically will pay 65% market price/recent comps in cash and 75% in trade.

We unfortunately will not be in Burbank and we don't feel it's worth the travel and effort for us at the moment. We're going to use the weekend to relax, recharge, and recoup from the past couple weeks of non-local shows.

Be aware that the Dragonite ex condition was definitely not NM/M. I'd go as far to say it was probably in MP/HP condition.

Think he is a streamer.
The vendor is a Whatnot streamer that was looking for a surplus of inventory as we would imagine that's why we has at a show at that magnitude and travelled so far. A majority of bigger buyers for us tend to be streamers or resellers themselves.

Where’s a mask randomly but will handle cash in his bare hands which is the most dirtiest thing in the world.
This is why I don’t sell to vendors. 65% is crazy and why should I sell to you at a discount right off the bat. The thing is people are too lazy to find individuals who will pay market value. If you are going to sell to a vendor for convenience then go for 80%. It’s fair on both sides at least. Just my opinion.
You selling all your cards to that vendor isn’t “helping the community “ whatsoever because you know they’ll just go and sell that right back for a higher price. Now regular folks will have to pay higher to get those cards from them than when buying from you.

The person he sold it to actually sells cards under market prices, they start their auctions at $1 , I’ve picked up many cards from “vortex” on whatnott and I’ve saved up so much more than going on eBay . And you get to see the cards you’re bidding for.
Be aware that foot traffic was much lighter on Day 2, so I'm not sure how much in sales we would have done had we not sold the binders in the morning.
At the end of the day, we are a business that needs to make a little money to survive and keep the business running. Travel, hotel, and expenses add up and getting bought out definitely helped us make sure that this trip was worth the effort. Being bought out also allows us to have more buying power to restock and buy more cards for the next show(s).
Rest assured, (spoiler alert) we were able to restock and have binders available for the Community by the next show we setup at!
