I have to say that Roam is by far my favorite mode when riding street because it's the most comfortable to me and it helps alleviate the hardness of the tire. Roam gives the GT a tighter turning radius, the floaties feel and funniest mode to carve since it makes the board more playful. I also don't feel like I'm getting bucked around so much when hitting bumps and uneven terrain unlike the other modes that feel stiff to me. Downside is the top speed. I hope they change that.
I saw in a Float Life video that they recommended taking some air out of the tire. I just got my GT so I'm riding it as it came until 50 miles before I make those tweaks. Being said, I installed the 1/2" axel drop and their Kush footpad before getting on it at all lol.
I just got my gt today so I have only riding it a few hours and this is my first experience with a onewheel. It's broken in though I bought it used with 88 miles. I'm already pretty confident riding in a controlled area. I'm looking for suggestions on what mode I should use when road conditions could change suddenly and still have a comfortable/predictable ride.
Thank you @duf for posting the video. I rode bey until I faced pushback at 10 mph. And now I am on roam. I can't wait until I'm as good as you to flow on. Thanks again.
Thanks Duf, I've got to try this I've been riding on Flow since my GT got repaired and I love it. Great mix of stability and power but I've got to try the other modes bc I might like them better now that I'm used to the extra power.
I’ve been riding highline since I got my gt, readily going over 20mph. After the firmware update, I decided to try flow and was enjoying it until BAMM, nosedive into the pavement at 20mph with little or no pushback. Once again, I stupidly didn’t have my elbow pads or kneepads,
I ride in full Fox upper body gear, its Comfortable and breathable. the only thing I have problems with is jamming my knee. sometimes when I run off the board, my leg runs up into a berm or something scenerio like that on trails etc, and the jarring of my arthritic neck, which no pad can save! But I will continue because the Stoke is life!
Im also experiencing more sensitivity to nose dives on flow for some reason (only at like crawl speeds 5-8 mph, not sure if top end is affected, just maybe been lucky) other modes its been almost impossible for me to nose dive since im pretty sensitive on the front paddel weight (unless the motor doesnt start when i first get on, thats always fun lol)
What setting should you be in on dirt/grass? I just put my 40th mile on the board (GT), slick tire. I tried to go thru short flat grass and unless I have momentum it barely moves. Tried Flow and Highline mode and no torgue to move me. No issue on paved hills though and I have some really steep ones in my neighborhood. Newbie here btw! I'm 215 lbs so well short of the limit.
I find that I feel more stable in Apex flow I feel more like I could fall if I over do it in my turns. Being 200 lb I feel like I go up hills effortlessly in Apex
Yea i got my onewheel gt and started on one of those lower selections and immediately experienced that beeping and pushback. So yea... skip those if you've ever riden a onewheel!
I was riding in Highline just started Ride did the recent update and Out of no where Bam nose dive board shuts off three broken ribs thanks one wheel Make sure you get a chest protector and wear proper pads I didn’t have a chest protector
@@Duf I was in Highline only going about 12mph And out of nowhere the board just shut off I didn’t even have time to respond it was so quick. I have about 130 miles on my GT and about 550 on my XR definitely disappointing First ride since I updated never had a problem before
@@unlimitedlives2613 same here I'm like 1500 miles love the gt until it shut off at 13 mph for no reason just shut off I don't wear safety gear cuz I don't feel comfortable been riding e board for 3yrs man but this ate it fuct me up head first don't know what happened
This is scary!! That’s basically how I ride. Paved trails. My max speed is 27.5km/h, which is maybe 20mph. Probably less. What causes the board to shutdown? Any idea?
Take your time buddy. 15 miles in you need to keep it slow and steady until your skills improve. Flow is more stable than the other modes that allow you to go 20mph.

@@joelkrocker can’t go wrong with flow. Also if u have a stock tire you can really drop the psi. Try 8% of your body weight and see how it feels.
@@JRCurtner good idea lol
Thank you for the Onewheel/GT content! Please keep them coming!
You got it!

Roam is a great next step
Cool video on the GT! I sold my XR. Just wasn’t riding it like I do my EUC. So it needed a new home. Looks like the GT is a very capable machine. 👍
I am a big GT fan.

Yea for sure, just dont bother with Bay or Elevated
@@Duf LOL, I remember trying elevated on the XR, it was ridiculous

Ouch! I thought Highline and Flow should have similar top ends?
@@Duf me too, nice bruise on my lower back also, safety equipment is still highly recommended especially for older riders!
@@korling99 Interesting, comment above this had cutout AFTER the firmware update too.

If you feel torque is low then try Apex.
I ride that trail all the time! love it.
I love it!
You’re so funny when you got off and you said “that was graceful.” Lol! Cool video!
Glad you enjoyed!

Power delivery is best in Apex but to me the side to side twitchy feeling is the worst in Apex
Yewww🎉 apex is my favorite .. extreme 🔥🔥
I'm still all Flow!!!

Yea if you are experienced you dont need them
I can't find anything about the new firmware update you mentioned in this video. Can you provide some more details please?
They sometimes stagger the release, I applied it when I got home.
I had a firmware update as well four or five days ago
Can you please explain what you mean when your say twitchy?
Twitchy means side to side instability
I was riding in Highline just started Ride did the recent update and Out of no where Bam nose dive board shuts off three broken ribs thanks one wheel Make sure you get a chest protector and wear proper pads I didn’t have a chest protector
You think it was update related?? I heard someone said they cut out around 20 in Flow.

You forgot to do the custom shaping!!!?????
At the time this was made, custom shaping was not available for the GT

Hey Duf, how you doing? Did you have nosedive on GT? And what's the best euc in your opinion in general? Thanks
I have never had a nosedive on the GT. The best EUC depends on what is important to you.

Thanks 👍
Bay is good if your hungover
Noted
Apex time
Yes
Elevated is good in grass
Never tried that combo
