It makes me sad to know that such beautiful songs like this exist yet the majority of the world is so oblivious to its existence. This song sends chills down my spine, her voice is amazing.

When I came up with the concept, I wanted it to be very loose and ambiguous, but the keys represent me feeling 'trapped' in the situation and the flare in the sea is like my 'distress signal' or a call for help from the other person. Thats the basis of it!

One thing I really like about her is her lyrics.
Not many people these days can construct a song that both rhymes, makes sense. I mean real sense as well, not just conveying some sort of vague idea. Her rhyming patterns are well educated too.

Was waiting for a bus in Shepherds Bush(London) this evening under the bridge. Across the street was this huge poster of a young women rising to the surfac of the sea(bubbles, etc. Divine!). Looked closer and it advertised the issue of a forthcoming album. Name - Lauren Aquilina. Never heard of her but the Maltese surname struck a chord. Came home (forgot the first name) but Aquilina no problem. And here I am on RUclips. Something Maltese about the very pretty face and the voice was - well, angelic! Good luck Lauren.

What's truly sad is that far too few people even know the name Lauren Aquilina. These songs are really good, every single one (with my favourite so far being King or You can be king again). And if I were to mention the song names, even play the songs for anyone I know, 99% of them would say they have never heard it before, but that they think it's amazing.
I'm not sure why music that is so good, doesn't spread nearly as much as music that everyone gets tired of hearing. Like how Despacito spread like the plague, and after like a week or two, everyone just wanted it gone.
On the other hand, it might be positive that these doesn't spread that much as this good music, is hard to find, and thus once you find it, you treasure it so much more.
I'm no psychologist (or I'd help myself first), and I don't study anything that'd help to answer this question. But it is an interesting question. How come the best music, is rarely shared?

as for the latter part, i’m not sure either, i’ve always wondered too. however, i feel like a lot of the good music is what most people are gatekeeping as a memory or maybe just to not let the toxicity into the fandom. this is a peaceful, positive comment section of people complimenting Lauren, maybe they want it to stay that way?

This is honestly one of my favorite songs ever
I told someone I loved him, two days ago. An online friend who I bonded with over a shared hobby since about one and a half year. Unexpectedly he said he liked me back, but long distance isn't for him, which is what we'd have to do since we are on two different continents. At first I was overjoyed because I didn't think he saw me as anything but a friendly acquaintance, and because he said he still wants us to be friends.
But now I am feeling even more lovesick than before I told him. Knowing that we could have a proper chance if the physical distance wasn't there. I cannot move to another country now or within the next two years. All I can have is talking to him online as a friend, and, gosh, I don't want to give that up. But it hurts so much, too. I don't know how to fall out of love, I don't even want to.

I have been carrying your songs with me since 2018 or maybe earlier, the first one I listened to was king which is still my favourite. it brings back sweet memories of when i was in school then i loved manga and books one of my favorite books was a book set in the dream world it changed me and made me dream and
I was full of dreams and imagination. now things have changed i grew up i don't go to school anymore, i don't read so many books anymore and i don't watch anime anymore and my imagination is there but it's not like before. but if there's one thing that still manages to make me dream and take me back to the past, it's your songs. they helped me in my dark moments, and I personally felt every text and word.
I told my friend a few months ago that I really liked Lauren's music and then, recently, completely out of the blue, she started saying that she'd been listening to fools a lot and that she really liked it. And a couple of days ago, she told me that she liked me more than a friend. I feel really stupid because now I can see all these little hints she was dropping me but I just panicked and told her that I didn't know how to feel and she said she'd get over it. I'm not going to see her for two weeks because of school holidays but I've realised that I love her and really don't know what to do.
