At present I think the best one is the 2023 Mario movie. It captured the franchise’s style very well (especially when compared to the 1993 one), and it really helped solidify the idea that video game films could be good. The first two Sonic films were ok, and I’ve been told Sonic 3 is amazing.

It’s more fun to watch than the new one. The old Mario movie just has so much absolute insanity going on with it, I never get tired of it. The new one you watch like.. twice, and you get everything out of it. The fan service is just there, and the plot is bare bones as ever. Yea it’s a Mario movie, but it’s a MOVIE, and a movie should tell a story.

What The Super Mario Bros Movie 😢

I love the first Silent Hill movie. The ambience of the games was well preserved and they did a fantastic job of incorporating the music.
