I had this on a four cassette tape pack when I was a kid. It's the first time I've heard it in about 35 years.

I remember seeing the movie for the first time, 1974 or so. It was on TV the 4:30 movie. I was in 4th grade living in Chicago land. All the kids watched it we wanted to dig tunnels. I have read the book several times, I love the The Colditz story. That was the true Bad boys camp.

This is #1on my favourite War film list, #2 The Longest Day, #3 The Battle of Britain, #4 The Enemy Within, #5 Von Ryan's Express. These are just my top 5 of a list 30.

Saving private Ryan should be on that list easily.

I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of that list to see if there's anything I've missed.

They have a 15 hour unabridged version on Audible and a 2 1/2 hour cassette version for sale on eBay. Plus the movie version is here on YT. Good luck!

They were so resourceful. Apparently exactly the same sort of thing happens in a lot of prisons, they figure out ways around the system, ways of making ad hic weapons and tools...they've got nothing to think about except how to dodge the rules...the ingenuity of imprisoned men is extraordinary...
Sadly they also manage to figure a way of getting drugs into the prison...and you can say goodbye to the ingenuity. Also the gang culture & beatings occupy people's thoughts a lot more...nightmare..

      What are you talking about?
Modern civilian prisons bear no resemblance to a POW camp with regards to the inmates.
It's like comparing apples and pears.

@@poundshopcicero3089 hmm. I’m not comparing the camps am I? just a commonality in behaviour of the inmates
