There is an emotional story of my family related to the Film Anand is that my grandfather doesn't like to watch movies as he thinks it is not good for children but hypocrisy is that we owned a cinema hall, and the best part is that one week before he died he had seen the Film Anand and after watching the movie he cried for half an hour and didn't say anything for two days and after that on the third day he said what a masterpiece film it was...😭😭

I grew up listening to the songs of 'Dosti', as my father had cassette of its songs. I watched this movie first time on Doordarshan on Sunday 12 noon when doordarshan was telecasting Rajshree's movies every Sunday. Also watched 'Awara' and 'Do beegha Zameen' on doordarshan Sunday 12 noon. It's more than 15 years but I still remember this.

Pather Panchali is the Masterpiece.. This is the debut film of Indian Oscar Winner Film maker Satyajit Ray.. The Perfect angle, the detailing of a poor family, acting, scenes (especially The Train Scene, Death Scene🥺) still mesmerize us... I am earnestly request everyone including Team Social to watch the Film "Aparajito" by Anik Dutta in which the Behind Story of Making this classic masterpiece has been shown... ❤

Also Mahanagar. The journey of middle class woman trying to break shackles of conservative ideas and having the courage to step out in the world and earn money to strengthen the financial position of her house and support her family in the later days after her husband loses his job. Going from being timid to confident and bold enough to stand against injustice done to her colleague. Nayak was multi layered movie too exploring the nature, greed and ego of humans. It was so well thought and full of analogies. Nayak is not for everyone. It's only for highly intellectual individuals who are matured enough to appreciate the nuances the story is trying to convey.

I have also watched Bengali Classic Pather Pancholi and Hollywood Classic The Bycicle Thief.. every film is incompareable... so choosing one favourite is not possible. Dosti is all time emotion.
My mother recommended me this film and we watched it on TV and loved it so much.. both characters was heart touching but Mohan has my heart. The most emotional and intense scene was when Mohan gets to know that her sister didn't recognise him because he became a beggar and he cries... Still hard hitting💔
Dosti has one of the best music albums ever in Bollywood.. From Raahi Manwa Dukh ki chinta to Chahunga main tujhe saanjh Sawere... This song can make you smile and cry at the same time.

Proud moment definitely. More so when, our own authorities had given their all to ensure that no Bengali maker/film gets the Oscar. Not a single film by Ritwick Ghatak, Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha n co were sent to the Oscars. Satyajit Ray was sent thrice but without any backing or financial support. And as he wasn't a rich man, it was beyond his means to do the required promotion that's necessary to win a Best film Oscar. Luckily inspite of our own neglect, the artistic fraternity of the World recognised his brilliance and rightfully awarded him with the Oscars.

I have watched do bigha zameen , it's really emotional.
One fact about the movie (Spoiler alert)
    It had two endings.
In the original one the lead's wife dies but he manages to get his land back . This ending was so much emotional that everybody was crying in theatres , so the director changed it and re-release the film.
In the new ending opposite happens where he saves his wife but loses his land.
A recommendation from my side is the movie 'Shor'.
