There is an emotional story of my family related to the Film Anand is that my grandfather doesn't like to watch movies as he thinks it is not good for children but hypocrisy is that we owned a cinema hall, and the best part is that one week before he died he had seen the Film Anand and after watching the movie he cried for half an hour and didn't say anything for two days and after that on the third day he said what a masterpiece film it was...😭😭
One year ago me and my father watching pyaasa that time I was only 17 and I was literally impressed by the performance of gurudatt Ji ! What a legendary actor he is ! ❤️❤️
Anand will always be my favourite. ❤️ And the song Kahi Door Jab Din Dhal Jayein.. It hits u hard directly in the heart ❤️ PS- Dosti is another classic one ❤️
I grew up listening to the songs of 'Dosti', as my father had cassette of its songs. I watched this movie first time on Doordarshan on Sunday 12 noon when doordarshan was telecasting Rajshree's movies every Sunday. Also watched 'Awara' and 'Do beegha Zameen' on doordarshan Sunday 12 noon. It's more than 15 years but I still remember this.
Pather Panchali is the Masterpiece.. This is the debut film of Indian Oscar Winner Film maker Satyajit Ray.. The Perfect angle, the detailing of a poor family, acting, scenes (especially The Train Scene, Death Scene🥺) still mesmerize us... I am earnestly request everyone including Team Social to watch the Film "Aparajito" by Anik Dutta in which the Behind Story of Making this classic masterpiece has been shown... ❤
Panther Panchali (পথের পাঁচালী)is always my favourite Flim ❤️. This Flim was made by Bengal's legendry - Satyajit Roy. Through this Flim world came to know about our Bengali Films. I greatly thank 5ocial for mentioning the classic-Panther Panchali.
This film is not only a pride of Bengal. I believe this film is an honour of the Cinema itself. Even if we have to make a list of world's best cinemas of all time, without mentioning Pather Panchali the list itself cannot considered to be complete.
Here is my top 10 from old India- 1.Apu Trilogy (Pather Panchali,Aparajito,Apur Sansar) 2.The Hero (Nayak) 3.The Big City (Mohanagar) 4.The Cloud-Capped Star (Meghe Dhaka Tara) 5.Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro 6.Rajnigandha 7.Koshish 8.Shree 420 9.Chupke Chupke 10.Sandesham

I recommend "Jana Aranya" And "Nayak" both by Ray. These two are my absolute favourites. Look beyond the Apu trilogy, Ray gave a whole lot more to cinema.
Also Mahanagar. The journey of middle class woman trying to break shackles of conservative ideas and having the courage to step out in the world and earn money to strengthen the financial position of her house and support her family in the later days after her husband loses his job. Going from being timid to confident and bold enough to stand against injustice done to her colleague. Nayak was multi layered movie too exploring the nature, greed and ego of humans. It was so well thought and full of analogies. Nayak is not for everyone. It's only for highly intellectual individuals who are matured enough to appreciate the nuances the story is trying to convey.
Well I am in my late 40s... and I can say that, I have seen all 9 movies except Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata hai (surely try to watch this)... I have also watched Bengali Classic Pather Pancholi and Hollywood Classic The Bycicle Thief.. every film is incompareable... so choosing one favourite is not possible. I am a movie lover since my teen age... those days in my small towns... only way of watching movies are Doordarshan and Video Halls.. There is a movie name APARAJITA..... RECENTLY RELEASED IN 2022 .....best movie which shows that how Satyajeet Ray had struggled to make Pother pachali 🙏🙏🙏🙏 highly recommend 🙏
Yess absolutely yess,,,,the actor who played the role of gurudeb is simply magnificent and guess what the movie used to do a lot of fight for a show time in the hall which is actually inaugurated by none other than Ray himself,,
I wathced Awara on Wikipedia. Gotta say, it was way ahead of it's time. Acting and and screenplay were the highlights. And dialogues, uhh, I'm sure you'll remember as many as 50 dialogues at least. I would recommend people to watch this masterpiece atleast once. It might feel slow, but once it's over, you'll not regret watching this movie
Aaj maine Kuku FM par Indian Cinema ki history par ek audiobook suni thi jisme kaafi classics ke baare mein bataya tha. I am an aspiring film director and I will definitely watch the other films(seen Anand). Thanks for the great video.
Being a bengali It feels so proud that the pather panchali film is in your top list... But ur pronunciation is a little bit wrong i know a non-Bengali accent can't match but it should be pother pachali...
I love classic old films. I grew up watching these movies, and I loved every movie mentioned in this video.I have been watching these movies since I was 7 years old, because my father discontinued cable TV connection and we had to watch classic movies every Sunday only. At first was not happy and willing to see these type of movies but when I realised what a Gem I was watching, I just thanked God that we don't have a cable TV connection. Thanks to team @5ocial, who are making these type of videos, so that some of the new gen kids will watch and know about the Golden Era of Indian Cinema.
My favourite among the list are Anand and Guide... but let me help you to extend your list you can add these movies in the next part of the video. 1- Ek ruka hua Faisala 2-Choti si baat 3-Khamoshi 4-Parinda 5-Prahar 6-Kabhi Han kabhi na 7-Jaane bhi do yaaro 8- Mere Apne 9-Koshish 10-Ganga Jamuna

I watched film Dosti back in 2003-04, on Doordarshan, when i was in 4th std. I literally cried watching the film. Thank u for reminding me this Gem 💎. Time to revisit, I'll watch it this weekend. 👌

What a set of recommendations... outstanding... Dosti remains favourite out of all these...Lakshyaraj Mewar ( Udaipur Prince ) recommended that movie in one of the podcast..and mann what a movie it was...
I watched 7 of these ❤️ Personally I’m biggest fan of Pyasa , Guide , Do beegha jameen and Anand. Other movies also a masterpiece in all way. I wanna watch more and more movies like these.
Dosti is all time emotion. My mother recommended me this film and we watched it on TV and loved it so much.. both characters was heart touching but Mohan has my heart. The most emotional and intense scene was when Mohan gets to know that her sister didn't recognise him because he became a beggar and he cries... Still hard hitting💔 Dosti has one of the best music albums ever in Bollywood.. From Raahi Manwa Dukh ki chinta to Chahunga main tujhe saanjh Sawere... This song can make you smile and cry at the same time.
Anand planted the seed of cinema in me I remember watching it on tv for first tine I loved that movie even though I was a kid who's a fan of cartoons since I was 10 years old 😂,but after that movie I started watching more movies than cartoons❤️
Dosti, Do bigah zameen & pyasa are pure gold.. All the movies in the list are my favourite movies..I might have watched all these movies like multiple times. Everytime I watch these movies I find something new in them, it's like you find a new angle as you mature.. Loved the list 👍

this is my all time fav. video of 5ocial bcz this includes anand, dosti and guide and the masterclass as i am a cinephile and old school i love do bigha zameen. i think thank people should watch old films for lessons.
Pather Panchali is all time favourite... As a Bengali, I can connect with this movie well. And I guess many would agree too... And it's a humble request, please make a dedicated video on Satyajit Ray and Bengali movies... We will love that ❤️
Proud moment definitely. More so when, our own authorities had given their all to ensure that no Bengali maker/film gets the Oscar. Not a single film by Ritwick Ghatak, Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha n co were sent to the Oscars. Satyajit Ray was sent thrice but without any backing or financial support. And as he wasn't a rich man, it was beyond his means to do the required promotion that's necessary to win a Best film Oscar. Luckily inspite of our own neglect, the artistic fraternity of the World recognised his brilliance and rightfully awarded him with the Oscars.
I have watched do bigha zameen , it's really emotional. One fact about the movie (Spoiler alert) It had two endings. In the original one the lead's wife dies but he manages to get his land back . This ending was so much emotional that everybody was crying in theatres , so the director changed it and re-release the film. In the new ending opposite happens where he saves his wife but loses his land. A recommendation from my side is the movie 'Shor'.
Guide was really way ahead of his time. It is one of the best book adaptation in Indian Cinema. The Lead charatcers, story, music, setup all was really good
I would recommend Beti Bete. What a masterpiece it was..... The acting of three little children is just amazing. And on top of that Lataji's songs...... what to say???? My favourite song is Aaj kal me dhal gaya..... Lyrics are just out of the world......
You missed Mayabazaar (1957). One of the best classic with IMDB rating 9.1/10. I recommend this movie to those who love watching Tollywood Cinema. A beautiful love story set in the Mahabharata era.
I saw all movie classic I love My recommendation is Kabuliwala Kabhi Haan kabhi naa Saudagar Amitabh wali Chup chucke 1975 Choti si bat Current 1992 Pinjar Buniyad 1987 serial
One best thing about dude is that whenever he achieves something, he never gives the credit to himself. He always respect us, the audience the most and his team too. He is always polite in every of video. We congratulate ourselves for this achievement. More to come and everything comes. We always with you rtzg
Apart from Albert Pinto ko gussa kyu aata ha n Pather Panchali ...i have seen all the movies n let me tell u i am 30 yrs old only ...n damn that scene in 2 beegha zameen when he earns money to release his land but land is sold off now is so emotional top notch acting ...even dosti was so good movie ...watched all these movies many times with family on TV
5ocial you are the best RUclips channel for movies and facts and i recently watching the old movies. You forget the movie Anari it's one of the best movies of Rishi Kapoor.
There are a few films I must recommend: # Ajantrik # Bhuban Shome # Ankur # Gonga chilonir pakhi (Assamese) # Aranyer din ratri # Nagarik # Neecha nagar # Naukri (Kishor Kumar was in lead role) # Joker mera naam I have watched all of them!
04:21 Thank You so much @teamsocial u mentioned Dosti (1964) it really need a great recommendation n needs everyone to watch this film atleast once in the lifetime
Wonderful 👍 Thanks for creating this video. As a cinephile, I need to watch quite a few from this list. My favourite is Anand. Generation that is growing up watching movies with mindless violence and extract pleasure from seeing others in distress, won’t appreciate classics.
1. Panther Pachali, Maachis, Golmaal, Guide, Pyasa-thanks to my Nanu(grandmother) I could see all of them. Among them, as a kid I loved Golmaal thn I loved Panther Pathali n felt proud as a Bengali. 2. Classic film aren't discussed in mainstream media now a days. That can be a reason behind not knowing about them
I do not believe about the point you mentioned on number 1. World standard main bahat sare movies stand out karte hai.. I think world didn't pay attention to all the movies! But anyways nice content. I found few movies which I never watched buy I will definitely going watch those! Thank you!😍
A list of most beautiful Bollywood films, recently I watched Pyaasa and I am still thinking of it, what a movie, what a class, acting, songs, pain and true love ,maachis, guide gol maal are also beautiful movies
Anand is the best classic movie ever! आनंद आपको जीना सिखाती है। ♥️And Guide, Golmaal are just amazing Indian movies. The whole collection of classics is really good. Thank you for mentioning them!! Just luv these movies 😍🔥
Satyajit Ray was a revolutionary flim maker. He inspired millions to make legendary movies. Unfortunately we forgot him & his legendary movies 💔
How could bollywood forget about Satyajit Rai, there is no comparison
But I have one complaint about him, he made only one film in Hindi😅

I watched 7 of these ❤️
Personally I’m biggest fan of Pyasa , Guide , Do beegha jameen and Anand.
Other movies also a masterpiece in all way. I wanna watch more and more movies like these.
Exactly same
Dosti is all time emotion.
My mother recommended me this film and we watched it on TV and loved it so much.. both characters was heart touching but Mohan has my heart. The most emotional and intense scene was when Mohan gets to know that her sister didn't recognise him because he became a beggar and he cries... Still hard hitting💔
Dosti has one of the best music albums ever in Bollywood..
Because you always have been a cinephile. Mere saath bhi kuch aisa hi tha
Dosti, Do bigah zameen & pyasa are pure gold..
All the movies in the list are my favourite movies..I might have watched all these movies like multiple times.
Everytime I watch these movies I find something new in them, it's like you find a new angle as you mature..
Loved the list 👍

@@Liontharadofficial_1 this is not in order brother all movies are best
Satyajit Roy won Oscar.
Proud moment for Bengalis
For all indians I think
Proud moment for all Indians
Thank you for mention Pather Panchali, it was The masterpiece film for whole Bengal to India
Love from West Bengal💞
Woww your voice is sweeter than honey ❤️
Yes Exactly
I was around 13 y/o when I watched Dosti on Doordarshan. Even my immature self was touched by movie and I literally cried during last scene.
I have watched do bigha zameen , it's really emotional.
One fact about the movie (Spoiler alert)
It had two endings.

Dosti is still very emotional and mesmerizing film... And the song by meri dosti mera pyar by Rafi saab is just magical ❤

Jai Jagannath I'm a ODIA person from KALINGA, I ❤ pather panchali
Wonderful 👍 Thanks for creating this video. As a cinephile, I need to watch quite a few from this list.
My favourite is Anand.
Generation that is growing up watching movies with mindless violence and extract pleasure from seeing others in distress, won’t appreciate classics.
Pather Panchali is my favourite ❤
I watched 'Dosti' when I was 11 years of age. I plan to watch it again. This film is so pure in its content.
Mera Naam Joker deserve a place in top 3.
Please make a part 2 of this video and add MERA NAAM JOKER.🥰🥰
