      Wow, like some tiny aquatic alien, invading your aquarium and living among the fish just to one day grow into a bigger flying alien and asent to the world outside. ... Sorry, I write fantasy and sci-fi xD
      But honestly, if you find a dragonfly nymph in your tank, please don't kill it. Put it outside into a pond or river. Dragonflies eat lots of flying pest insects and even mosquitos.

    Fun story: My parents had a huge fishtank many years ago and the fish had slowly died out and was empty. My dad drained the tank and put the tank with its pebble sand floor (that had a bit of water still slushing about in it) in the basement and then we left 6 weeks going on vacation. We came back and I went down into the basement to fetch something and I passed the tank with the few centimeters of water at the bottom and .. SOMETHING WAS MOVING IN IT!! Turned out that the swordtails had dropped babies before they died out but the babies had been too tiny for my parents to spot when they emptied the tank however, the babies had survived... In the dark, in the cold basement.. without any sort of care.
    My parents then started up the tank once more and that number of swordtails grew for a good number of years afterwards but then on display :)

    I’m awful at keeping houseplants alive. My house has very few windows and little natural light, so houseplants struggle in here.
    Doesn’t help that my cat loves to eat and destroy anything remotely green.
    But if I could keep houseplants alive, my favorite is fittonia. Such a pretty plant and the one I had always told me when it needed water by drooping it’s leaves and dulling it’s color. Five minutes after I watered it, it’d be bright and perky and happy again.
    I swear you could watch it brighten up. So fun.

      Try ivy and spider plants. They don't need a lot of light, can support extreme conditions and can be placed in high places or in suspension to avoid the cat thing

    • @Annie_Annie__
      @Annie_Annie__ 2 года назад +1

      I have some pothos, it seems to be the only thing I can keep alive. Mostly because the cat learned that if he eats it, it makes him vomit.
      Can’t do spider plants. For some reason those are like crack to that damn cat. He’s very much a climber, the type of cat that happily spends the day on top of bookcases or almost does himself in trying to sit on top of doors.
      Believe me when I say that no matter where I put a spider plant, he finds it, devours it, and destroys it.
      I read that spider plants might have a mild hallucinogenic effect on cats and I believe it. He’d much rather have a spider plant than a whole garden of catnip.

      I found my desert rose on clearance for $4. It lost every leaf before it bounced back and now its gonna bloom. I love them. A nursery near me has some exotics for a decent price so I'll probably be getting one of those at some point as well. Itll be nice to start with a healthy plant. They are so beautiful
