🙏 Thank you so much! I know I'm not alone when I express my appreciation for all your hard work developing these exciting and helpful solutions to our daily challenges. 🤟👊
It's absolutely brilliant and completely changes the way you navigate. I love it 👍 I can immediately see an improvement that you must already have in mind. Let's say I have two screens. Excalibrain popup on the left and Excaldraw on the right. It would be super useful to enable the "embedded " function in excalibrain to display the markdown part while keeping the drawing in the right-hand screen. Currently, the "embedded " function (< >) has no effect on a drawing.
It's amazing what you do! I love the idea. It would be awesome if there were a shortcut or command to switch between the markdown view and the Excalidraw view, and vice versa!
I love this. One question - does the 'note-type' field have to be a dataview (inline) field or can it be in the normal properties/frontmatter? I only ask as my existing setup is moving more towards utilising the properties (so all metadata in frontmatter). One day I would love to find the time to join the workshop. Thank you - fascinating and clearly explained, as always.
Hello Zsolts, that's a great idea. However, it only works with one image and one file. I attempted to use two frames, but it was challenging to include them as separate atomic or literature notes in the markdown file. The file displays both texts together, making it difficult to distinguish them. I also tried creating a single image file and pasting it into a more complex excalidraw, such as a Book on a Page, but it wasn't possible. This idea is excellent, but it needs a more detailed explanation of how it works.
This is why I also mentioned the 📽️ Deconstruct Visual Ideas video: ruclips.net/video/HRtaaD34Zzg/видео.html . To understand the full concept I also recommend watching The basic idea is to work with atomic visuals that you embed into each other, thus you build a more complex image such as a book on a page or a presentation from lego pieces. The deconstruct script is super useful in carving out ideas into their own notes. I demonstrate this carving out in this video: 📽️ The Visual Thinking Framework with Obsidian and Excalidraw: Making Visual Connections between Notes ruclips.net/video/mvMQcz401yo/видео.html Additionally on the idea of visual lego pieces I recommend watching these as well: 📽️ How are Picasso's Bull, Tiago's Building a Second Brain Book, and PowerPoint presentations related? ruclips.net/video/N6EFydv0tug/видео.html 📽️ Improve knowledge discovery by reusing icons. I think more in short gif-like animations than in static images. I wonder if Excalidraw could be extended to enable animations made by some kind of scripted modification of the (I presume) vector graphics? Heck, one could even imagine making "images" that have interactive parts and can execute arbitrary scripts when you move dials around or something - interactive explanations, as notes! That would be very helpful for me since I think so much in mechanisms and systems.
I've been long eying this enhancement to bring it into Obsisidan: github.com/dai-shi/excalidraw-claymate#readme and dai-shi.github.io/excalidraw-claymate/
you mean in ExcaliBrain? You can configure the size of the embedded note in plugin settings. I use both views embedded and not, in this video the focus was on explaining the prefix icons and the direct-linking thus I turned embedded mode off.
Tag styles do but require a css. This series explains... though I can't recall in which part (likely rather the second, not the first) ruclips.net/video/8LE_QdYQZVk/видео.html

You keep coming up with things I didn't know I needed. Now I must use it this way forever.
Wow, this is awesome! I can now marry my book notes with mind maps. Mind blown! Thanks a million for all your hard work Zsolt!

this is genius, i have the same approach and this is just what i needed!
You're doing a good job for us
Thank you for all the work you do. Subbed.
Brilliant!!

There is a shortcut. Command Palette toggle Excalidraw and markdown view. You can set up a hotkey in Obsidian settings
@@VisualPKM I found it! Thanks a lot. You have thought in everything, your work is fantastic!

Currently only inline field is supported for note type. But I can implement it for properties as well

Great as always. Thanks. Wondering...did you find that the embedded center node took up too much screen real estate?

Many thanks but can't get tag style to work. Is there a guide to that somewhere? I have loaded the latest version and have created a tag style css.

Excellent - what I was missing was adding the tags into the fotmatted tags field. You are I think the best Obsidian youtuber and plug in creator ever!
If in the note, it requires more than one visual representation, can I use just one drawing note? Like, only showing the insides of a certain frame?
You can reference parts of images such as groups and frames in Manhattan documents. ruclips.net/video/yZQoJg2RCKI/видео.html
