- Welcome everyone.
Today we are going on a walking tour along the upper Niagara river starting off at the International Water intake dam. You might see places you haven’t seen before on this long walk on a very hot summer day.
What you will see:
The water control dam. This dam controls the flow of the river water that goes over all the waterfalls and also diverts water used at the power stations.
The old Scow. It has been in the river for over 100 years!
The upper Niagara river and rapids.
The Horseshoe falls, American Falls and The Bridal Veil falls.
We walk all along the promenade to take in the amazing sights of Niagara Falls. The walk ends at the Zimmerman Fountain.

I always learn something new from your walks Christine!🙏 I did not know that the scow was scuttled. I can only imagine the panic the two boatmen must have felt as the scow was nearing the edge of the falls! Great walk and I like the way the rain came down in the end to cool things off!😂 Thanks for sharing!

Ahhh, Christine, what a breathtaking, midsummer tour! Niagara Falls never fails to inspire a person.💙🌊🌊🌊🩵 And not only the waterfalls, but the entire gorge and surrounding towns in both of our countries. Such bountiful natural beauty!😃
Thank you also for giving us a close-up of the international dam.👍 From a distance (whether one is standing on the U.S. or Canadian side of the river), IMO the dam looks so mysterious. I say that because the dam's visible structure stops in the middle, or near the middle, of the Canadian Rapids. So cool to see the water-control operations!
And, of course, what would an amazing walk with you through Niagara Falls be without us spotting those huge, colorful WEGO buses. If you ever do WeGoPlacesTours tee shirts, mugs, mouse pads and keychains, please include, among the designs your adorable graphic from your channel page. And I hope Niagara Parks or whatever entity owns/operates the WEGO buses won't have an issue with your channel's name on your merchandise.

This was a long walk for me that day but fun. I wanted to show places that maybe people don’t venture out to since it’s a bit further away from the waterfalls. That dam has helped with rescuing a person once since it can slow down the water flow. Thanks for your wonderful comment and pointing out all the sights that day.
