Apart from the original, FORESTELLA's impressive and haunting interpretation is my favorite and completely equal to the original. SH you are right when you say they listened to the original version. Nothing in Forestella's music is by chance. The members are not only singers, but also musicians - by training or self-taught (each of them plays at least 1 instrument) and from everything we get from interviews, live streams and behind the scenes footage, they immerse themselves in every aspect of the song they want to cover and understand it very well (not only musically, but the whole context) before making the decision - together with the musical director - on which direction they want to go! Hijo De La Luna was yet another surprising performance from Forestella if not for singing in Korean (not a direct translation BTW; they did a similar thing with Greensleeves where they changed out the lyrics but in English) but also introducing new and surprising elements that we don't conventionally see in Forestella performances. Some of the commentary on Forestella mentions a formulaic approach to "pop"-ularizing classical songs or vice versa, turning pop songs into classical versions but Hijo De La Luna has really defied what we've come to expect from Forestella. The versions strike me differently and provide me with very different emotional responses. Thanks~ They show off amazing and diverse voices and techniques live without needing any magic devices or AI pitch or tuning or post-processing~ One creator composer said that machines don't lie when it comes to picking up voice modulation and it's hard to appreciate them knowing that. LOL I've seen some singers who are overrated and express themselves so differently in live performances and MV that their pitch is shaky and it's impossible to raise their pitch. That's not desirable!!!! Lol 😆

Yes, Sir Hairless! A beautiful song! I think the only words in Spanish, are “ Hijo De La Luna,” ( son of the moon). These wonderful men have awesome pronunciation in the languages they choose to sing in. They are masterful musically, and manage language pronunciation so perfectly! The beginning of this reminds me of a music box or some children’s lullaby. It then turns into something that reminds me of circus music somehow. Not sure why. 🤔 Great cover. So different! 😊❤ There are so many other versions of this song. I first heard it sung by Loona. And it’s quite similar to the original. Then there is one by Sarah Brightman, that is sung beautifully, but to me feels a little more boring. Montserrat Caballé does an Opera version. Gerónimo Rauch and Carlos Rivera have amazing tones in their voices. Marquess have deeper voices and more guitars. And Haggard make this partially metal. And sooo many more. 😊 That song is always beautiful. But I think I like the original best. But some of the others are very close. Especially the Forestella one. ❤

I have to tell you this is the very first Forestella video that I watched and I got goosebumps right after they started singing. The original song is incredibly amazing even though it's from a few decades ago. I've already watched your reaction video for Mecano's "Hijo de la Luna." However, Forestella's cover is unique, they took this song to another higher level and made it their own. The harmonies are perfect and they soothe your ears while listening. This is one of my favorite Forestella performances. I appreciate as always your thorough analysis of each part of the song. I've learned a lot about harmonies, accords, and many other technical music details by watching your reactions. Keep it up that way. Many vocal coaches, musical producers, and other music experts have reacted favorably to this song and agreed this performance is ridiculously amazing. To perform this song the way they did required a lot of preparation, team effort, and many hours of rehearsal, but all of this was worth it for the outcome. Kang HyeongHo, aka PITTA with his own band, is also a very versatile singer on his own, with a wide musical range, and an excellent singer/songwriter. Pitta is named after an 8-colored Korean bird because his voice has such a variety of timbes as this colorful bird has colors. His great love has been rock since he was young, and he has outstanding skills in this area too. His beltings, for example, are incredible. FORESTELLA could have sung their version in Spanish, as their Spanish is known to be excellent. But they wanted a Korean version for their country. As translated lyrics don't always fit in with the melody, the story was rewritten and new lyrics were added. The essence, however, remained, so that the respective emotions match the original.

It's a fair question because @sirhairless mentions that the song's last line is left on a hanging note. Well, that's partially because of the lyric which roughly translates to "dreaming a beautiful dream; a dream from which I don't awaken ...."
I think whoever covers this song should always translate the lyrics to their own language. With some songs it doesn't matter that much, but this one is a storytelling song. The music progresses with the lyrics. The audience must understand the story to fully experience it.

The two versions are totally different. The original is like a cursed leyend or myth, while the second one is more like a lullaby. I'm from Spain and I like Forestella a lot, but in this case even if the result is wonderful, they changed the purpose and the feeling of the original.

The members are not only singers, but also musicians - by training or self-taught (each of them plays at least 1 instrument) and from everything we get from interviews, live streams and behind the scenes footage, they immerse themselves in every aspect of the song they want to cover and understand it very well (not only musically, but the whole context) before making the decision - together with the musical director - on which direction they want to go! And as is well known, they practice a lot!

Hijo De La Luna was yet another surprising performance from Forestella if not for singing in Korean (not a direct translation BTW; they did a similar thing with Greensleeves where they changed out the lyrics but in English) but also introducing new and surprising elements that we don't conventionally see in Forestella performances. Some of the commentary on Forestella mentions a formulaic approach to "pop"-ularizing classical songs or vice versa, turning pop songs into classical versions but Hijo De La Luna has really defied what we've come to expect from Forestella. The versions strike me differently and provide me with very different emotional responses. Thanks~ They show off amazing and diverse voices and techniques live without needing any magic devices or AI pitch or tuning or post-processing~ One creator composer said that machines don't lie when it comes to picking up voice modulation and it's hard to appreciate them knowing that. LOL I've seen some singers who are overrated and express themselves so differently in live performances and MV that their pitch is shaky and it's impossible to raise their pitch. That's not desirable!!!! Lol 😆

I first heard it sung by Loona. And it’s quite similar to the original.
Then there is one by Sarah Brightman, that is sung beautifully, but to me feels a little more boring.
Montserrat Caballé does an Opera version.
Gerónimo Rauch and Carlos Rivera have amazing tones in their voices.
Marquess have deeper voices and more guitars.
And Haggard make this partially metal.
And sooo many more. 😊

I have to tell you this is the very first Forestella video that I watched and I got goosebumps right after they started singing. The original song is incredibly amazing even though it's from a few decades ago. I've already watched your reaction video for Mecano's "Hijo de la Luna." However, Forestella's cover is unique, they took this song to another higher level and made it their own. The harmonies are perfect and they soothe your ears while listening. This is one of my favorite Forestella performances.

FORESTELLA could have sung their version in Spanish, as their Spanish is known to be excellent. But they wanted a Korean version for their country. As translated lyrics don't always fit in with the melody, the story was rewritten and new lyrics were added. The essence, however, remained, so that the respective emotions match the original.

It's a fair question because @sirhairless mentions that the song's last line is left on a hanging note. Well, that's partially because of the lyric which roughly translates to "dreaming a beautiful dream; a dream from which I don't awaken ...."

I think whoever covers this song should always translate the lyrics to their own language. With some songs it doesn't matter that much, but this one is a storytelling song. The music progresses with the lyrics. The audience must understand the story to fully experience it.

The two versions are totally different. The original is like a cursed leyend or myth, while the second one is more like a lullaby. I'm from Spain and I like Forestella a lot, but in this case even if the result is wonderful, they changed the purpose and the feeling of the original.
