I remember one night, the national radio station broadcaster in Liberia, ELBC, on one of those days in the late 1980, was playing this specific Congolese music on air. I dubbed it via a radio cassette tape recorder, for my listening pleasure later on. That was a very long time. I had just come from high school, and I was getting to go to University in Bong County in 1981. it is so nostalgia
I have really been wishing to come across it in RUclips. And for the few days I have been listening to it but now I took notice of it. Intriguing recovery via RUclips. i am listening over and again.
I am in my studying spot of the sitting room, working with my laptop computer on profession article for publication. Thanks Allah, Almighty, for life so treasure He has granted me. Because my maternal oldest sister, who I grew up with in her and her husband house, where I dubbed that tape cassette recording, are no more today.
Kiam was among the the greatest bands we've ever hard. The voices & guitars were unique. It was as if they were singing in a valley. We'll listen to their music forever.
Will Lingala music ever come back to identical glaring position of music? This was real music industry boom. Life was never the way it's now and didn't expect it to fall to this magnitude. Just rest it with God
This was real Music. Everything played physically and produced very sweet melodies. I remember those days we could dance to these Kiam songs the whole night during the infamous Disco Vumbis(Record players).
I have good memories of the Lingala music.VOK was the promoter of music.chaguo lako by Eddie Fondo every Tuesday was a must listen.Luckily I was the Entertainment Secretary in Shanzu Teachers college in the eighties.Music is therapiutic

Mbale One of the great and best music of ochre Kiam. Incidentally the name resembles a town in Vihiga county. We could dance to this music during our days in secondary school in the 70s.Good music!

Darubini this was the record of the year 1977 (Kenya) if I am not wrong. I was still in primary school but I followed " top 10" on Daily Nation very keenly. Only place to hear this music was on the radio . Or if you had older siblings who played it in the proverbial red Phillips record player. Golden 70's! A marked contrast to what we listen to today.
