Astros playroom was the best “welcome to the new generation” demo ever made. A full game with the same mechanics is gonna be one of the best platformers we have gotten in years.
Astro bot is literally the only game that fully harnesses the PS5s mechanics. It's awesome, but more games need to utilise the controllers full potential.
Honestly I think Kojima utlizes the consoles as well, using the controller to shake a baby to sleep etc. We need people to be creative and use everything the console can give us within the games. Too many developers are doing the bare minimum.

I think Astro is one of those things I didn’t know I needed until it arrived. I’m so unbelievably happy that Astro has stuck around all these years, from the playroom in 2013. Hopefully ps are smart enough to use him as an official mascot. The game looks stellar and tons of fun.

Astro’s Playroom that comes pre-installed on every PS5 is a full game and a must play. It will let you know what you’re in store for and so many people overlook it as being some short tech demo, which it’s not. I love that game and I loved Astro Bot Rescue Mission in VR back on PSVR1. Can’t wait for this new one!
Yeah, i seriously struggle to call Astro's Playroom "a tech demo". As it is much more intricate and substantial than that. The tech demo aspect is there, sure, as it was of course meant to showcase players brand new DualSense capabilities, but all in all it has much more to offer than that. It's a little gem of a game and a much more memorable experience than many full priced titles out there. Giving it away for free could have been considered criminal on Sony's part. In hindsight, it's somewhat of an amazing appetizer for Astro Bot, the main show.

It won’t last. Sony’s mascots are never around for long, sadly. Remember when we all thought Sackboy was gonna be it? By the time Little Big Planet 3 arrived he’d had been discarded and forgotten already. Hopefully this time is different but I ain’t holding my breath.

This could actually be my Game of the Year! Astro's Playroom was such a wonderful experience and this looks to be a great next step in this series! Not every game needs to be super realistic or open world; I'm really happy to see an old school platformer like this, it just looks wonderful.

Sony please don't put this game on PC. It's a game created for PlayStation enthusiasts to celebrate PlayStations rich history and hardware. The same hardware that PC gamers refuse to support. And those same PC gamers have done nothing but hate on PlayStation non stop the entire generation, while also begging for ports. They beg for ports just so they can make fun of the PS5 for having no exclusives, they want to see you gone from the gaming space completely. They didn't even want to create a free PSNaccount for Helldivers 2, so don't give them this game. PlayStations brand and reputation is at an all time low because you chose to entertain PC, don't make the same mistake with this game.

A variety of genres but this new age Playstation Studios under Jim Ryan and the team he hired was left the platformers and JRPG's outside and it has hurt them. Bc this was the console of the family and then adults would get one for more adult like games in their rooms to play away from the young kids, or their teens in their rooms. Now most are lucky to own one over the cost of hardware and games, but the lack of anything great the family can all sit down with is far from a few. I see them failing in the future if they don't right the ship now, but if they don't then this game will be their swan song to remember what they could've been.
Some PS exclusives did use a bunch of the innovative features of the new force feedback (I especially like diving on a flying mount in HFW) but nothing like Astro.
The fact I saw bot versions of not just Kat but also Raven from Gravity Rush tells me that Team Asobi know exactly what they are doing and I look forward to seeing what they can do next.
These games are just such treats. They capture that element of constant surprises that 3D Mario harnessed so wonderfully in the past. Every level feels fresh and unique, and I'm so excited to see this team really get to strut their stuff with a grander experience like this. Games like this are what the industry needs right now. 15-20 hour experiences that are all killer, no filler, and just show the breadth of ideas that talented devs can bring to the table.

I'm not a platform game fan but getting Astros Playroom on the PS5 was a joy to play and a nod to all the things we love about the Sony Playstation and it's history. I will buy this!
I just finished playing Astro’s Playroom (the game that comes already installed in the PS5) and I can’t believe how much joy it was to play. I didn’t know about this game before specially because I’ve been off from playing much at all in the last years, but knowing there is a full game for this game I would gladly get it. So much fun!
The original Astros Playroom was like an incredible game you purchased that happened to come with a next gen console. I had so much fun playing it! This is pure joy of casual gaming. Can't wait to play this one!
My only complaint about Astro Bot is that I wish he'd been a PlayStation icon since its inception in the PS1 days. But then again, his game are kind of meant to be a celebration and tribute to all things PlayStation and its legacy, so it's kind of befitting for him to be introduced in these later generations. This game looks like an absolute nostalgia trip, and I am SO ready for it.
Sadly with Sony they always abandon their potential mascots when they don't give them money anymore, it happened with: PS1: Crash and Spyro PS2: Ratchet, Jak and Sly PS3: Sackboy PS4: Knack PS5: Astro Note: apparently in Japan PlayStation has a mascot over there that are a duo of cats (I think their names are Kuro and Toro) but not sure in that one?.
I normally wouldn't like this type of game, but this one looks so fun and light hearted. This trailer actually made me smile. Might actually get the game, we need to keep these platformers alive and well.
Congratulations to Team Asobi for winning GOTY/Best Picture. This game always makes me smile whenever I play and it makes me feel like a kid again playing Super Mario Galaxy. It’s the cure to depression and it really is true happiness in a video game. It’s my favourite game of the year, a real masterpiece of 3D platforming since the Mario Galaxy games + Odyssey
Just redownloaded playroom and didn't realise they'd added more trophies and hidden bots. Just sunk another hour or 2 and now I'm buzzing for the release on Friday!
No games are using Dualsense features to their fullest so Sony really just said, "Fine, I'll do it myself." They really made a tech demo that rivals any Nintendo has made and then kept on going. The Astro Bot game on PSVR is still one of the best games on the platform!!! I really wish they made this new game PSVR2 compatible as a bonus.

Bc this was the console of the family and then adults would get one for more adult like games in their rooms to play away from the young kids, or their teens in their rooms. Now most are lucky to own one over the cost of hardware and games, but the lack of anything great the family can all sit down with is far from a few. I see them failing in the future if they don't right the ship now, but if they don't then this game will be their swan song to remember what they could've been.

Some PS exclusives did use a bunch of the innovative features of the new force feedback (I especially like diving on a flying mount in HFW) but nothing like Astro.
The fact I saw bot versions of not just Kat but also Raven from Gravity Rush tells me that Team Asobi know exactly what they are doing and I look forward to seeing what they can do next.

These games are just such treats. They capture that element of constant surprises that 3D Mario harnessed so wonderfully in the past. Every level feels fresh and unique, and I'm so excited to see this team really get to strut their stuff with a grander experience like this. Games like this are what the industry needs right now. 15-20 hour experiences that are all killer, no filler, and just show the breadth of ideas that talented devs can bring to the table.

I'm not a platform game fan but getting Astros Playroom on the PS5 was a joy to play and a nod to all the things we love about the Sony Playstation and it's history.

I just finished playing Astro’s Playroom (the game that comes already installed in the PS5) and I can’t believe how much joy it was to play. I didn’t know about this game before specially because I’ve been off from playing much at all in the last years, but knowing there is a full game for this game I would gladly get it. So much fun!

The original Astros Playroom was like an incredible game you purchased that happened to come with a next gen console. I had so much fun playing it! This is pure joy of casual gaming. Can't wait to play this one!
My only complaint about Astro Bot is that I wish he'd been a PlayStation icon since its inception in the PS1 days. But then again, his game are kind of meant to be a celebration and tribute to all things PlayStation and its legacy, so it's kind of befitting for him to be introduced in these later generations. This game looks like an absolute nostalgia trip, and I am SO ready for it.
Astro Bot is definitely a well deserved and fitting icon for the brand at this point! This team is INGENIOUS!

Sadly with Sony they always abandon their potential mascots when they don't give them money anymore, it happened with:

I normally wouldn't like this type of game, but this one looks so fun and light hearted. This trailer actually made me smile. Might actually get the game, we need to keep these platformers alive and well.

Congratulations to Team Asobi for winning GOTY/Best Picture. This game always makes me smile whenever I play and it makes me feel like a kid again playing Super Mario Galaxy. It’s the cure to depression and it really is true happiness in a video game. It’s my favourite game of the year, a real masterpiece of 3D platforming since the Mario Galaxy games + Odyssey
