I have just bought this bike full ABS version build & ride quality is fantastic & I have had CBR 600F GPZ 500 & this little Honda brings a smile to my face every time its so light & flick able with punchy engine ...I just ride it & love it .
I recently rode one of these little babys into the surface of the Sun and found it surprsingly capable of handling the atmosphere (or lack thereof ) of outerspace. It didn't hold up too well although to the Suns scorching temperatures and virtually melted on impact. I had to walk back to Earth but still I had few complaints, the ride was fun and surprisingly comfortable most of the way.
I bought one of these bikes yesterday. I am very pleased with my purchase. I've had a 1500cc cruiser for the past 12 years (Still have it). I got this for commuting. I've been on the interstate and I got it up to 82 mph easily. I weigh about 135 lbs, so I'm sure that is a factor. I love how nimble it feels. Hopefully I can manage close to 70 mpg. If so, I'm sure I'll continue to be happy.
I bought this bike for myself 4 months ago, and I'm still having a blast on it. I can say this too, it doesn't matter if the Busa 250 is faster, or the Ninja 250 is faster, I have gotten my CBR up to 90mph, which is well over the speed limit of any public road, so speed doesn't really matter (unless you're an adrenaline junkie, then why are you on a 250 in the first place). And personally... The Busa is just way too bulky for me, but that's personal preference.
@NguyenEmpir3 He mentioned an aftermarket fuel management and ignition controller by Bazazz (might be the Z-Fi QS quick shift). It momentarily cuts spark just before shifting to allow engine speed to drop and let the next gear engage without trouble. There's a sensor that watches the shift lever.
I Own an 08 Gixxer750 and I simply love this honda, I think for around town and short trips is great. You just put some money like Bazzaz, better tires and its enough, makes a great bike
The stock exhaust looks just fine to me, and most 250 makers want to keep costs down to attract buyers. Aftermarket is a great option if you want a snazzier, higher flowing and more expensive pipe.
When i moved here to The Phllippines, i first bought an CBR 150 R FI. The reason was it was so damn cheap compare to the 250 R and after some mods, it was still cheaper but also faster. It was an excellent city /short trip machine and never had any problems. Then ii bought an CBR 600 RR. Of course a totally different bike. Better for long rides and more stress on City and short rides. The bike don`t like that.I think the CBR 250 R would be great for city, short, to school or just a bike to chill around with on a nice summer day. Maybe something extra beside your car or bigger bike. Am actually planning to buy an single cylinder bike again. Miss that one :)
People complained that the earlier bikes with the separate headlamps for low and high beam looked broken, because one headlamp would be on at a time. Win some, lose some. ;)
It depends how hard you ride the bike. My bike has the fuel computer and the pipe, and I get about 65 mpg in mixed riding. If you're mostly above 8000 rpm, then you're going to use much more fuel. If you relax the throttle, then good economy. A Ninja 650 would also consume gas like a compact car if flogged all the time, but you're more likely to get a ticket if you're within or near city limits. A smaller bike lets you play at the limit more easily. See the racing series in Canada for example.
Different priorities. If you only ever ride in the city, the 250 makes a fantastic commuter or pint-sized sportsbike. When the road opens up on a weekend or after work ride, you might want a bit more punch. Have enough throttle to pick you back up after an enjoyable corner. The best setup would be a garage with room for two bikes though. Then you can have it all.
I agree. Everyone who rides a new bike vs this modified one will wonder why it does not perform the same. As well my Suzuki 750 got over 50 mpg. Wont messing with the mixture be hard on the engine too? They are designed to run at a certain mixture ration for a reason. Does look like a fun bike though.
I previously considering a new CB500F but after bought an old merc i don't have money left for it so a 250 is a must for me or i don't have anything to ride to go study. Or i can wait for something from aphonda thailand for newer bikes they already released a new Forza 300 here.
this or a kawasaki ninja 250r im trying to decide like what bike goes faster? What bikes engine is louder? Which one is more expensive? Which is more reliable? Which is overall the better bike i need somebodies opinion!! HELP ME OUT!
Thanks for the clarification, I was going nuts trying to figure out whether it was bazas or bazaz' or whatever, you get the point :) I've looked it up from their site, pretty good stuff but comes with a hefty price tag (380 for Z-Fi and 820 for Z-Fi QS). I'd imagine it'd make quite a difference though if one was so inclined to take it to the track for racing.
Go to the dealership with your friend and have her take photos of you on the bike. But once on the road, you're likely having too much fun to worry about looking awkward.
yeah but when you get a 600 your wrists and back will tell you otherwise. Also, you will grow tired of pussyfooting around town within the speed limit. For around town riding the cbr250r is perfect. The low end torque off the line makes this bike excellent for in town riding.
The CBR250R runs lean for emissions and for fuel economy, not performance. A fuel controller makes the mix richer for performance. The aftermarket computers are also tuned for the bike, so they won't cause motor damage or make the bike run poorly if installed correctly.
It takes time to get to 97 mph. A higher displacement bike will have much more torque to reach the desired speed faster. It makes a difference in group rides.
@@RRP1992 I haven't rode this bike in years. I sold it twice. Have you revved it all the way to the redline before shifting up to the next gear once the engine is warm? It should blast to 75 mph just fine. I recall it being a bit sluggish after.
@@cheezgrated hey, thanks for replying. I have no issues with how quickly it goes to 70/80/90 mph speeds. The only issue is the engine feels stressed with buzz post 60 mph. Single cylinder vibration I guess.
@@RRP1992 It's pretty good for what it is, but I did find that screws rattled loose over time making it feel even buzzier. On the upside, replacement screws and clip nuts are available from Honda for not a lot of money if you lost any. A little threadlocker blue also helps in some situations. I ended up getting a 2004 CBR600RR but it is not as carefree as the CBR250R.
I got a question, I'm 19 I have been riding since I was 6 I have a yz 125 cuz I love going fast around a track ( I'm a bit crazy I love speed) I have just got my green P's on my for my bike license, I just sold my wr250 and I want to buy a cbr 250, but my dad thinks there are to dangerous and he thinks I'm going to kill myself, cuz I love hammering my yz lol, my dad has a cbr 1100 xx so he can't talk lol, so should I get another trail bike like a wr450 or wait till I'm older to get a road bike
I got hte CBR bececause it was cheaper. Really, the 250 class are learner bikes. It doesn't matter. CBR's are overall cheaper because they are more reliable but the Ninja's do go quicker. Though 'quicker' is a relative term only, because the magnitude of difference between both bikes isn't pronounced. I'm happy with my CBR, will be looking forward to upgrading in a year.
Taijean Moodie no I'm not heavy very light actually the bike just has no pick up. That's literally the only reason I sold it. I rode mostly highway and I couldn't overtake for shit
yea true, its just the fact that our family has know a few people that have gotten killed while riding, but i would only be riding about 10km to work each day and i know the roads and its only dangerous if you make it dangerous.

...says the busa fan boy. that's not the point. i wouldn't be caught dead on a busa either. my cbr250 is way cooler than a pos old busa. if you're buying a busa for 4 g's,.. there's a reason it's only 4g's.

I just bought one myself. I'm a learner rider, 6'4" and 120kg, absolutely perfect beginner bike for me. Love it.
i got this bike 6 months ago and i love it, its my first bike, was easy to learn how to ride.
I'm experienced rider of 20 yrs, owned many bike. I bought one recently, love it!!
I got this bike yesterday and it is the perfect bike for me. other 250cc bikes can't on the inter state but this can do that. It is quiet and smooth.

The 250R is a perfect beginner's bike. It isnt that fast but its just perfect for Track days/ city commuting.
I'd rather have the better gas mileage than the extra power. I like it just the way it is.

Which bike do you have your sights on? I might get a Ducati Monster next year.

Really liked this review by the way!
What was the fuel air ratio device he was talking about called

yeah, I'm hoping a cbr400r will be a reality next year.
Would something like this be considered as a beginners bike? Motorcycle has been one of my passions, but I'm afraid to ride anything over 400cc.
ah my bad XD i got it mixed up it was late over in the UK when i write that :P thanks for correcting me :)
Pretty awesome learner bike.
Im 6'4 will this bike be comfortable for me?

CBR250R or Ninja 250R?
You need to put a compressor over the audio in your videos.

Any1 have any ideas on how to convince parents into letting u get a motorcycle license?
Why would you review the motorcycle after modding it. Makes no sense. Should be a review of the stock motorcycle.
what is with the fugly exhaust, i hate it

Bikes have a wet clutch so upshifts dont need to use a clutch if you've got the power on.
hows the overtaking speed on this bike?
non existent
Daniyal S. this bike can overtake.
Taijean Moodie yeah if you're over taking at 45 mph or under
I've seen people take over someone at 60 mph you must be heavy if this can't overtake for you.
Taijean Moodie no I'm not heavy very light actually the bike just has no pick up. That's literally the only reason I sold it. I rode mostly highway and I couldn't overtake for shit
Anyone done a comparison between the cbr250rr from the 90's vs this ?
yea true, its just the fact that our family has know a few people that have gotten killed while riding, but i would only be riding about 10km to work each day and i know the roads and its only dangerous if you make it dangerous.
They cost twice as much here in Australia which is utterly absurd. There's not really any reason to buy one now that the CBR500R has been released.
@nate18871
yea im thinking of getting my Ls but cant decide which bike to learn on i like the look of the kawasaki ninja 250r but dont know which is better, this or the kawasaki
Looks awesome, I'm planning on getting one
i noticed he left the high beams on the video.
nice review thank you :-)
Lol, rainbow canyon in Temecula,i bomb that hill everyday
Nice bike

nice clean lines on the bike too bad its expansive for what it is though
It is the design of the VFR, they just took advantage of the Iconic name os CBR but is not a CBR, it is a single cylinder VFR
i would recommend a cruiser bike
The Ninja 250R is made in Thailand too.
yes
Test ride both and decide for yourself.
the kawasaki ninja 250r is faster that the honda cbr because the honda is 1 cylinder and the ninja is 2 meaning it has more torque, but the honda has better suspension (apparently)
94mph isnt enough for ur freeway jollyride? lol.
i feel for u.
man this guy bores that crap out of me
I have heard things of this bike having pretty serious engine problems. so i think i will go with the kawasaki ninja 250r
haha, I'm in the same boat. but i use my 250 for in-town commuting... so a 600 wouldn't exactly be a wise choice anyway =(
i have the 2012 im painting my exhaust all black
Most likely a cbr600rr those bikes look, sound and preform well within my standards.
So... that's still more than $4000, which still makes your point illogical (assuming I understand you correctly)...
*ACTING*
Woo! I just got my Hayabusa for $4000! Time to insure it and have fun!
*The next day on the phone*
My insurance now costs more than my bike.
The Kawasaki is made in Thailand too.

For $4000, you could get a used Hayabusa and pass this bike like it was standing still.
I don't think this video is QUITE dry enough.
hahahhah
Complete the motorcycle school.
@GsxR750Speedemon then get new ones...
lost alot of mpg....might as well just buy a bike with more umph if you loose that much
idk think about insurance
um what?
not everyone has the money to insure a hayanusa...

It looks more like a vfr than a cbr.
That's what happens when the bike is made in Thailand or India
The CBR 250R is $4199 -___-
new cbr r ugly i miss old cbr 250 rr 4cylinders
its a starter bike calm down
its ugly because honda and most other producers of 250 sport bikes want to give money to the after market exhaust makers
Hayabusa really those darn things are ugly lol
ima guess you're a blonde?
250r's type very very badd.
So u spend all that money and it's still not as good as a ninja 350 and still looks like shit
