Welcome back Matt! Hope you are fully recovered. Interesting video, I will have a look at the REW wavelet function, and see what it indicates about the MSO tuning of my 4 sub system...maybe some additional fine tuning in delay or addition of all pass. Sounds like optimize time domain with delays, then optimize frequency domain peaks/dips in crossover region with all-pass filters.

great video, very interesting stuff. i have totally seen that with the 1ms shifts lol, legit cost me a full weekend of scratching my head because I thought it would "click" into place.

Very interesting and reminds me and hopefully everybody else you need to listen and look not just look ! So many things an be significantly more audible than we expect

Time and phase coherent speakers are rarer these days. I count myself lucky to come across them over 20 years ago. Have my Medowlarks and they are amazing (and easy to set up) for my fronts. I always found it interesting in the audiophile world that these two things were glossed over so much or just said that they don't matter. Where any equipment wasn't time or phase correct they would be called broken. All I know is the soundstage is so fantastic that in my room I just don't have any need for that center channel. So wonderful not to have that speaker. I find it just the most obtrusive thing. Of course I have no need to anchor the speech on the screen due to nobody needing to sit way off axis to the screen. Lucky in that way.

Thanks you for your videos! I'm trying to sort out bass in my very budget multi purpose basement 7.x.4 HT. I have 1 couch with only two of the seats that i care about. I have 1 free 15A circuit. I don't have a lot of money but I would like a flat curve as low as possible. Is it feasible to get a flat response using only nearfield/very-nearfield subwoofer(s)? Ie. Instead of placing 2-4 subs around the room in a typical corner or mid-wall placement, could i just use 1 or 2 very large sealed drivers directly behind the couch? Noise on other floors is not a concern, and I would like to get into the low 10Hz range if possible.

Thank you for supporting my channel. I'll be recording a video and answering your question shortly.

Wouldnt I also see that when I just look at the spectrogram graph in REW and take a look at the peak energy line? I always use that to see if something is off...

Wavelet is in the spectrogram graph. It’s one of the two processing methods. I am assuming you are looking at the wavelet instead of the FFT method.

Hey Matt! Just wanted to followup on a q I submitted. I submitted a $10 question regarding mixing sealed subs with ported subs, several weeks ago prior to the $15 change over. I know that you've been out sick and that that you have a backlog of questions that you're trying to get thru.

DIRAC LIVE .... does an excellent job of phase alignment .... never heard my system sound so coherent as with DL
