    I was fishing that exact same spot on Tuesday night. Had 2 Whiting & my mate had a nice Haddock. I had a couple fall off the hook aswell and missed quite a few bites.
    I was using a Pulley pennel, both size 2.0 hooks with squid & black

    That's why we beach fish Mike no two tides the same. I always use two hooks on my rigs it's just extra hook should the fish grab the full bait.

    At least it wasn't a blank. Had a short session on the Humber this morning and had three Flounder when the tide was coming in but no bites on the way out. Each day is different as you say

    Got to like fishing you never know what will happen and I use a circle hook on the top of my pulley pennel rigs just never know how they will take the bait.
