I've had my dog for almost 10 years since i was 6 when I found her on the side of the road as a little puppy, she was a mongrel but she was the most beautiful dog I've ever seen. My parents were originally against keeping her but after my little brother started crying they said that we could keep her on the condition that we take care of her. I got to name her because I was the one that found her, so I named her "Teddy". Teddy was the cutest, most intelligent, friendliest dog ever, then unfortunately she got some kind of mammary tumor and Teddy started to get sick and our only hope was to have an operation, my family isn't very rich but we got together the money needed for the operation. I had to work throughout the summer to save enough money for it, it was exhausting but I never complained I would've given much more for her. The day of the operation came two days ago, and it went great her vital signs were fantastic and she handled it well. When we went to visit her we all cried tears of joy, even my dad who's a pretty stoic guy and I've seen him cry maybe once before. I was so relieved that she was ok but she had to stay at the vets overnight until she fully recovered. My mom had a day off work so she went to pick her up yesterday, but when she arrived the vets told her that Teddy passed away in her sleep. When my mom told me about it I was just in shock and denial, I just couldn't believe it she was doing great yesterday. I sat in my room staring at the wall for over an hour, until it finally hit me that Teddy was gone. I don't know how much I've cried that day, it's the saddest I've ever been in my life by a long shot. It's just so cruel how the universe works, to give us all that much hope just to take it away. Later that day my dad bought a casket and we burried her in our backyard. It's was the first funeral I've ever been to, I still can't describe how I felt when my uncle lowered her in there and started burring her, Teddy was like a sibling to me and I still cannot comprehend that I'll never see her again. Today when I woke up and got dressed I went outside and started calling for her, it was just what I used to do for almost 10 years. I called and called but she wouldn't come, until I went into the backyard and saw her grave when I remembered that she wasn't here anymore. I dropped to my knees in front of her tombstone and sobbed uncontrollably. My uncle and aunt suggested we get a new dog but it just wouldn't be the same as Teddy. Wherever she is at least I hope she's happy, I miss you Teddy, mom misses you, dad misses you, Mark misses you. We're all sad that you had to leave us but we're grateful for you. You were my best friend and my little sister, I hope I get to see you again someday, in some other life. I'm writing this as tears are streaming down my face, it's really rough. If anyone read this I'm sorry for ranting in a RUclips comments section, but this video reminded me of Teddy so I had to get it off my chest. Everyone's heard that you should treasure your loved ones while you can but that's not easy to do, you never know what you had and took for granted until you lost it.
