@@pre6586 hello, I'm sorry for a very late reply. Never knew I had these until now. There are different fields of psychology, but if you're really pursuing med, then better to be ready on a lot of reading materials, labs and practicals. Clinical psychology is not easy but all worth it after that. Anyways, I hope you still choose psychology even this is after a year reply. Take care!

I totally relate with this dilemma, though I didn't go to medical school. My dream, when I was young, was to become a laywer or a scientist. But because we didn't have that much money to sustain a long-term studying, I ended up thinking of getting an I.T. degree. Luckily, I was qualified for a scholarship, however, I did get sick back in 1998 and had to stop. I resumed my BSIT course but ended up shifting because, I realized - I don't want to encode all day! While the pay for an I.T. job is really high, but my heart belongs to poetry, to short stories, to news features, and other things that words can express! Keep the good things coming and I am wishing you well! God bless you!

Oshirou Asakura hi, just wanted to ask. how many years po ba ang bs human bio sa UP manila? kasi po diba sa lasalle it's 3yrs bio and then 3 yrs to pursue medicine. thank u po.
Sa UP Manila I think they have the INTARMED program which is a 7- year program. 2 years premed tas 4 years med proper. Paduguan lang siguro ng utak kasi Top 20 males and top 20 females lang i-accept nila after a series of tests and interviews ahahahha. Bio ata sa UP Manila is 4 years pa rin kasi Bio ung isa kong friend na nag med din sa UP Manila. Sa La Salle ata they have a 7-year program din kasi ganon ung friend ko. 2 years Human Bio sa taft then 4 years med proper sa dasma.
Thank you for this video ate aura!!!! I'm a Grade 12 student and thinking of being a doctor someday. Thank you po😭💖
Psychology student here! Going to medschool after college! Im scared but go lng na go! No choice, gusto ko eh😝 so eager to be a future Psychiatrist specifically child psychiatry
humss student ako pero nursing yun kukunin kong course. Kaya malaking tulong to for me ❤️ thankyou. I know di ako magaling sa science pero i know na kaya ko tong course na to. Goodluck self!! thankyou for sharing this. ❤️
I have this one classmate in med school and her pre-med course is BS Nutrition. Master tactician of Human Biochemistry. Kabisado niya lahat! It made me realize na sana nag Nutrition din ako as my pre-med since we only had the subject for 2 hours or days of lecture. Hindi ko nilalahat but doctors barely glance the Nutrition subject in med school. Ganda sana ng combination. ☺️
Chemical engineer, will take NMAT next year. Bring it on! It's all about your work ethics and attitude. We all have what it takes if we have good foundations on learning and discipline.
You have to read read read. Study study study and practice practice practice. Ika nga ng neuroplasticity, repetition matters. I'm a PTRP by the way ☺️
I think my answer to the last question is BSND (Bachelor of science in Nutrition and Dietetics) :) because you have 3 choices depending on what you want pursue either Food service (mainly restaurants, hotels Managerial stuffs, Public health Nutritionist, and clinical nutritionist so it's also a Pre-Med program. If I'm not mistaken I heard it's also Pre-Law. more like hitting two birds with one stone.
I think for me for this question what is the best premed program; is that what drives you crazy, what your passion drives you crazy and certainly that help you grow and lastly what makes you happy
If you really want to pursue medschool nang hasang hasa, upperhand ka ‘pag Medical Laboratory Science/Medtech kinuha mo kasi sobrang comprehensive ng mga subject nila compared sa ibang pre med + madaming subject sila na eksaktong tinuturo rin sa Medschool. Parehas na parehas, so i’d say that’s pretty much say something right. But if you’re people & profit oriented, nursing it is. Mahirap ang nursing, lalo na ‘pag bedside manner pero if we’re talking about the amount ng information na kailangan mong iretain & will literally give you an advantage sa medschool acads compared to other pre med, MLS it is.
Wag ganon besh! Hahahaha. ♥️
TRUE!!! Sorry I had to mention it, I heard it a couple of times e. Kaya I said "you have to recognize which ones are biases and generalizations etc etc" I hope to debunk this notion when I get to interview a psych student for another video. Kapit lang sa stat at research besh!! Magagamit mo yan hanggang residency!

Hi! If any of you guys want to go to UP Manila, I think another thing to consider is what we call the RSA or the Return Service Agreement. You have to practice your profession in the Philippines for 2 years (within a 5 year time frame). So let's say you graduated from the UP College of Nursing. You have to practice your profession or be involved in education or research related to your field. You can't go straight to med school after your college graduation. This is applicable to all of the colleges in UP Manila except for the College of Arts and Sciences. If you think you can use those 2 years of practicing your profession to help you be physically and mentally prepared before entering med school then I think UPM is for you. Hope this helps! 😀
If I'm not mistaken it started with the freshmen who went to UPM back in 2011. :) But it's an existing policy na po for all of UPM's "white colleges". Graduates under the RSA can also pay the RSA penalty so that they can go straight to med school. :)
Hi, Doc Aura! Ano po yung 2 years lang na pre-med? I hope you make another video about this. It sparked a lot of your subscribers' interest, including me. Thank you so much! :)
I think that's BS Human Biology. Nag-ooffer nito ang UP at DLSU. :-) After the 2-year course, deretso 1st year med proper. So magiging 6 years nalang instead of 8. (Pre-med & med proper)
Aura Azarcon hello doc aura omg thank you for recognizing my comment. Im really a fan of yours and Wil. I am a registered nurse by profession and super like ko talaga ang mga vlogs mo here in youtube kasi nakakarelate ako. My childhood dream is to become a doctor an OBstetrics and Gynecologist doctor. To at least justify my opinion of choosing those courses as a pre-med is simply because of practical reasons. I know po just like nursing medicine is a continuous process and a never ending learning. It is cephalocaudal and womb to tomb and choosing po pt which is naka incorporate dun yung basic sciences like anatomy and physiology which is very helpful during the time na ngaaral ng medicine. In pt also there is medical foundation like general medical conditions, general surgery conditions. These are incorporated in the curriculum so basically that gives an advantage pag nasa med school na. With pharm naman po since it focuses on the clinical and hospital aspect of pharmacology. Prior to med school mas in touch na and in depth knowledge na yung alam sa drug information which is very helpful sa isang aspiring doctor na ngpeprescribe ng medicines. Yan lang po doc aura and I may be wrong with what I believe in here but then po this is just my opinion. Thank you and God bless. By the way nag duty din ako sa Ospital ng Maynila when I was studying Nursing. Dyan ako naka complete ng Minor OR cases ko and in Fabella Hospital and mga Delivery cases Good luck doc pag pray kita makapasa ka ng Board Exam. 😍😘❣️💕
yeheyy!! how about BS Pharmacy, doktAura? was plannin to take it for college since my parents already have a plan for my Pharma License after I get it in the near future :)
Hi Hziyela038 . Pharmacist here. Maybe your parents want to use your license on putting up your own drugstore or something. Habang med student kapa pwede mo siyang gamitin (pero actually bawal talaga siya kasi you know "ghost pharmacist" ang peg mo nun kasi nag-aaral ka nang med and hindi mo matututukan yung pharmacy mo) but after mo makuha yung license mo as a physician hindi na talaga siya pwede kasi isang license lang yung valid nun, at syempre mas pipiliin mo yung license mo as a physician diba. Pero I'm not discouraging you to pursue pharma huh, I just want to give you some info. Anyways, God bless sa future premed course mo. :)
Claire Pauline Cayanan aww, thank you po. But ate, what do you mean dun sa isang license lang ang pwede? Does it mean na after ko makuha ung physician license ko, hindi ko na pwedeng gamitin/ipagamit yung license ko for the pharmacy?
Hi ate DoktAURA im a 4th yr Pharma student well for me BS pharmacy has an edge in med school why because you get to counsel your patient just like the doctors but the difference is that we dont prescribe drugs for Px and incase you dont want to pursue medschool you always have a work waiting for you. There's no PT in my med school batch, so we had no one to give us mnemonics and tips for Gross Anatomy :( Haha thanks for sharing this!
I've been thinking of taking physical therapy as my premed, kaso nabobothered po ako kasi after po ba nun pwede na ko magtrabaho? kagaya ng nursing and medte ch and kung may label na po ba siya? kasi sabi ng classmate ko when you finished medtech you'll be phd, how about the physical therapist po? pleaseee i need answer po,thank you in advance!
Danielle Kuizon
This is my third year college taking up bs psychology. I'm already engaged to it. And yes its not easy. But I believed that if you set your goals you can pursue it. Thanks to doc Aura btw. ✌
Rehtse Otnarac i want to major in psychology as pre med when i enter college
Rehtse Otnarac any tips?
Ask ko lang po what's the possible careers after graduating bs psych po?
@@pre6586 hello, I'm sorry for a very late reply. Never knew I had these until now. There are different fields of psychology, but if you're really pursuing med, then better to be ready on a lot of reading materials, labs and practicals. Clinical psychology is not easy but all worth it after that. Anyways, I hope you still choose psychology even this is after a year reply. Take care!
@@xii.xii.03 hello, possible careers are either on industry or education. You can apply on a company under hr if industry. You can be a teacher if you want too.
If you want to pursue on clinical field. You should take masters degree or take up a board exam.
Its been 2years since I first watched this video. I was shs back then. Now I'm on my 2nd year of BS Biology.
Honestly my aunt who's a doctor said Medical technology would be a great help when you want to proceed to medical school
God bless you!
hehehe.. Noel the dreamer... same here... watch the movie Lala Land. Surely, you will enjoy it...!Or watch the number one stand up comedian, a half Filipino in U.S. today in youtube channel- the south seas : Jo Koy live from seattle 2017. for over one hour of non stop laughter but SPG is needed. hehehehe...
I love your sincerity on helping people by giving tips through making videos. God bless you, Dok!
I'm an incoming college and I've been researching about pre med courses and good thing I found your chanel before even enrolling to my desired school. This chanel really really helped me big time, you got my thanks Doctor!
Happy to hear this!
ganda mo ate aura!... di ako med student.. nanunuod ako kasi love kita. more power.. sana gawa ka din ng video something about. first day in college.
this channel is so helpful ate ♡ we really appreciate your tips and recommendations. and besides, its full of sense rather than other types of videos. please do more ♡♡♡
Sobrang helpful DoktAURA! Gustong gusto ko mag Med school and lalo pa ako napupush kakapanood ng videos mo :) Hehehe thankful na may ganitong channel!
Human Bio sa DLSU or UP-MANILA!!!!! ^_^ Still, it's up to you! I have friends who were engineers and computer programmers who are now doctors.
Oshirou Asakura thank you so much! 😊
Thank you for this video ate aura!!!! I'm a Grade 12 student and thinking of being a doctor someday. Thank you po😭💖
what are u taking po?
What did you take po?😊
Psychology student here! Going to medschool after college! Im scared but go lng na go! No choice, gusto ko eh😝 so eager to be a future Psychiatrist specifically child psychiatry
I really wanted to take medicine yet im still grade10 and this helps me in my decision
I will be watching again your videos once that i'm a pre-med/med student. Hopefully😊❤
Thank you po! :)
humss student ako pero nursing yun kukunin kong course.
Love you!
I'm a PTRP by the way ☺️
BS Midwifery. Im taking that right now cuz I want to go to med school. Now I'm 3rd year BSM student and already Registered Midwife
Just searched "Medicine in the Philippines" and I discovered you!! Im so happy and thankful, you are so inspiring ate. 😊
I think for me for this question what is the best premed program; is that what drives you crazy, what your passion drives you crazy and certainly that help you grow and lastly what makes you happy
Nursing is still the best pre-med course. I swear!
official eudang medtech po. Hahaha
Hi poo.. Favor lang po sana if ndi nyo mind. Pede po bang magshare kau about the psychology course(lyk the subj.,Length, pros/cons)?? Ive been considering it pero d pa kasi po ako masyado informed about it and if i searched it, baka d nman totoo or smthng. Sana po mareplayan nyo koo😭
@@zaleamin4222 Hello po. Psych Grad here.

Haha

Hi Skye! I have to clarify cos I have classmates na UP-CN Batch 2012 who went straight to med school that same year with me. Is this a new ruling?
If I'm not mistaken it started with the freshmen who went to UPM back in 2011. :) But it's an existing policy na po for all of UPM's "white colleges". Graduates under the RSA can also pay the RSA penalty so that they can go straight to med school. :)
Wow oh no haha. So all "white colleges" students are under RSA na?
Yes, Ate Aura. They're under RSA na.
Hi, Doc Aura! Ano po yung 2 years lang na pre-med? I hope you make another video about this. It sparked a lot of your subscribers' interest, including me. Thank you so much! :)
Yaahh I want to know that too
I think that's BS Human Biology. Nag-ooffer nito ang UP at DLSU. :-) After the 2-year course, deretso 1st year med proper. So magiging 6 years nalang instead of 8.
Hannah Lei I'm not sure. Try to do research on the Internet nalang. :)
go to a school n trimester ang sched so you can graduate in 3 years...
For me it goes to these 3. BS Physical therapy,Medical Technology or Pharmacy.
Hallooo please enlighten us! What are the advantages of PT and Pharm? :D
Thank you Mam!!! :) High respect to all nurses like you and my sister. And thanks sa pagshare ng insight, highly appreciated. :D
yeheyy!! how about BS Pharmacy, doktAura? was plannin to take it for college since my parents already have a plan for my Pharma License after I get it in the near future :)
Hziyela038 Go for it! Pharma student here!
Gerald Maglatang wow! thank you for the encouragement kuya :)
Hziyela038 you're welcome. :) yup ganun na nga. yung license mo nalang nun as a Physician yung pwede mong gamitin. :)
I hope you'll give us some NMAT tips☺ Planning to take NMAT next year!😇
Diane Go-soco kamusta po ang pharma? I'm still stuck between choosing medtech or pharma po kasi and senior high/gr12 na po ako. By feb po mage-entrance ako kaso still not sure po sa course
Hi Norlainie Adiong ano na napili mo?
I really find this helpful..and nakakapanghikayat po kayo...thank you po! I am now deciding on what pre medcourse I am going to choose to achieve my dream being a doctor..💕💕
What are your top choices? :)
Bs nursing po or medtech 😅
both great choices!! :)
"It depends on the student." 👏👏👏👏
I’m still in highschool but i’m ready watching about med school 🤣
=) harthart
Med-Tech talaga gusto ko, yun rin yung pinakarecommended ng mga parents ko kasi malalaman mo na lahat about sa bacterias, cells, viruses, also on how to cure each of them.
Yaay.😂
I was wondering if nag BSMT ka after 5 years hahaha :)
You're my MEDSPIRATION(aside from my parents)!!!! 😭 your videos help me so much ❤️ TY!!!
It's 4:20 am i still dont know what pre med course should i take :(((
Radtech here✋✋ less noticed, but I think it is an amazing course😊😊😊
Hello!! :D Please enlighten us! Would you suggest radtech to (kunwari) a younger sibling who wants to go to med too?
Yes. BS Radiology technology is so underrated! A hospital wouldnt be complete without radtechs, Radiology is the eye of medicine.
Wow! How many yrs is bs radtech po? And if it's fine please enlighten us po abt the course . Thank you
Yun nalang sundin natin hehe
Agree. That's also what my professor said. I am a BSED BIOLOGY student and he always encourages us to pursue Med (Well, half of the class naman are going to pursue Med) and he said, whether you're an Engineering, Education, Business Ad. Student and so on it doesn't really matter what's important is you are financially ready and have determination that is boiling.
Pick an easy one? BS Psychology graduate here. Awww. Heartbreaking 💔
Hi poo.. Can u tell po smthng about ur course? If ndi nyo lang po mind. Ive been thinking kasi po kung kukunin ko din ang bs physocology or ndi.. Dati pa kasi po ako interested in the mind and human behavior, etc.. Sana po makapag share kau about its pros and cons and maybe some advice.. Hehe😅
@@zaleamin4222 Hey! I'm about to graduate Psychology and let me tell you this without bias: Don't take this course if you're looking for a premed course, or you want to study human behavior. May google naman.
Sure, it's cool that you're interested but Psychology has so much more to offer. Like a VERY VERY Comfortable Fallback Career should you not really want to be a doctor, you can work as an HR Generalist, or even a Psychologist.
Take Nursing if you're REAAAAAAAAALLLY adamant on going to med. Otherwise, Psych is a viable choice for people "still on the fence,"
Education ang natapos ko, major in Physics. gusto ko mag doctor talaga. ate Aura, do you have any tips para sa aming non pre-med yong natapos? huhu
very well said Doc Aura.. 👏👏👏
I am really thankful that i met this such vlogger 💕 💯💯 content and quality 💕 thankyou for the tips hehe
How about physical therapy po? I know there's no such thing as the best pre-med course, but physical therapy wasn't mentioned in the video
So ayun I've been making research. Nalilito na po ako kung Nursing, Biology, Psy, or Med tech ang kukunin ko as pre med. Kaso unsure pako kung saang field ako magiging doctor. Wala pa akong idea. Nagsesearch ako and I think Neurosurgeon ang gusto kong kunin kaso parang gusto ko magnursing.
Im 18 and choosing a premed course and it sucks because i still really dont know what i want. My family's frustrated at me already and im just so sorry that i still dont know what i want--

Technically, may plano na po talaga ako like I’ll choose Internal Med then proceed to Cardio. My only dilemma right now is which premed course I’ll take :))
BS Pharmacy is the best. Pharma student here!
Thank you po for everything talaga.

Yung maganda and complete yung facilities. Hehe. Love you!! You're a big help. God bless! 💕💕
Nako I can't speak for other med schools and I don't want to be biased haha good luck though! :)
Kamusta ka beh?
Took up BSBIOLOGY, I was naive and clueless 4 yrs ago (i was the dumb one in my batch Hahaha 😂 But the course encouraged me to go to med. school *soon, cross fingers*.. biology field research scarred me! (Srsly, being a doctor was really my goal, biological research works tortured me) Hahahahha
Walang dumb dumb! Patigasan lang ng loob sa med :D
For me Bs biology was fun even its fond of research and I didn't regret I'd chose it..after all it all depends on the student on how to handle med life. Though med tech and nursing has advantage technically haha..Go bio!!!!!!!
Ate aura, huhu i need your opinion. Kung pag uusapan yung sweldo alin yung mas appropriate kong piliin Medtech, Pharma or nursing? kelangan ko lang talaga maging practical dami kong pag aaraling kapatid at yang tatlong yan lang talaga yung mga course na interested ako for College help me. Im starting to apply for college at kelangan ko na ng course. Thank you ate sana mapansin mo.

Hi Doc Aura!
I'm a first year bio student. Actually my dream course is medtech talaga but because of money matter, I ended up choosing bio dahil yun lang better premed course na available sa malapit na university dito saamin. And natiming na pandemic at freshmen ako, and sobrang nahihirapan ako sa sistema ng pagtuturo (I know na lahat naman talaga nahihirapan sa online class) but for me sobrang nahihirapan ako tanggapin na ito yung kinuha kong course tapos sobrang hirap pa mag adjust sa sistema ng pagtuturo ngayon. I'm currently in the middle of itutuloy ko pa ba or what kase gustong gusto ko na po talaga magchange ng course, and I think my heart belongs to that course (medtech). Iba kase talaga pag gusto mo yung ginagawa mo at choice mo talaga yung nakuha mo.
I hope you could give me some advice. Thank you doc! And God Bless!
