Great video. Do you know what font that is that you used for the second set of words. You stated you thought it was wet point. That is not an font option for me. Do you know a font that is close to that one? Thanks
Thank you for a great tutorial on text knockouts. Do you have a tutorial on how to do a knockout of an image? Like the lion that you showed in this tutorial. The image is a PNG file. I also converted it to a SVG file. Mahalo in advance
I have a question. When I upload svgs into design space from Inkscape that have text it says it’s unsupported. How do I stop that so I can do things like this? (I’m working on a Mac so I don’t know if that changes things)
a lot of times its just a design space flaw. Make sure all your text is a path. if it gives you the error but everything loads into design space just ignore it.
When I attempt to highlight my second word (the knockout word) I get a ton of node squares. How do I turn those off so that the color can shadow properly?
Ima new subscriber and i've been struggling with knockout designs .Im using windows and when i get to 4 minutes in on my font i don't have the wepoint or wet point ,soi use i love glitter font .And then when i get to 5:23 minutes in i don't get the image you do around your cut out and then i click it again and it goes to this blurry smudge like mess.And i do't see any undo sign or anything so i'mstuck .I've been trying to do this for several days and go to all kinds of you tube and jennifer maker sights just to try and get one done half right .I'm in need of some serious help
Ar eyou using inkscape version .92 if not thats your issue version 1.0 has a lot of bugs. you have to download weatpoint its not on your computer automatically. In order to get the image around the text you have to use the offset you will get a diamond somewhere along your text. again you can't use inkscape 1.0
I know this is a super old video, but I’m trying to learn this STUPID program. Every time I select “Object to Path” my words disappear. The box is still there but no dagum words. Please help me
I really like your video's, why is it when you start your video we can hear you very clearly. Then when you go to your computer your voice goes so low i can't understand what your saying. I have both my volumes on 100%. It's to hard to follow the arrow when it moves to fast. I have watched so many of your video's to many times and still can't get all the instructions. Please help!!
I wish design space had a new option for the knockout or at least left the old option available, but thanks for sharing. If she didn't go fast the video would be long and boring. Open the video up on a different device than what you use for your design space and just follow along, pausing the video as needed. After a while it'll become second nature.
It really doesn't look easy to me. Is there another program that uses words like "knockout" and other words that you actually can determine what they mean without a big learning curve?

To a point. If you mean you want a border around the whole sticker just do the offset part not the difference part

Hi is Inkscape like silhouette business edition? I’m new to all of this how much is to get Inkscape?
I have not use silhouette software so I cannot tell you and inkscape is free

You are likely double clicking on your text. You want to make sure you have the selector tool as well chose. Its the top arrow on the left

I click on difference and there is no "hole", did not work

You go so fast
It's quite a few steps but take notes and you will get it. If I didnt move quickly this video would be so crazy long.
Change the playback speed in RUclips to go slower for you.
