The reservation part is somewhat manageable. The no park hopping until 2 pm makes me feel held hostage and unable to redirect when things get crowded. Guest traveling resort to resort is a crowd control method in itself. I loved a MK rope drop morning then going to Epcot when things got crowed around 11. Having that back would be AMAZING! Since the reservation system everyone is forced to stay put until 2.
From when exactly will the parking reservations be cancelled?
Yes. It’s supposed to be a fun vacation no stress 😅
i like the idea of the reservation for attendance management but park hopping should start earlier
Things I’m missing and wishing would return: free fastpass, extra magic night hours (talking til like 12 or 1 like we used to get😂), and I really miss the goodnight closing they would do every night at magic kingdom on the castle
@@omnicognatesnr5947 I mean, my brother and I were in magic kingdom until 2 or 3am one year😂😂
Absolutely! Didn’t mind the reservations. Crowd control. And buying food as you go wasn’t bad. But I want what you said. ! Late hours was the bomb!!
@@christiS907 how on earth was that crowd control? I went every single year, during what was once considered “off peak.” Every year it was worse and worse. They implemented reservations, and it was STILL busier than ever before. I’m talking spring break/summer in the 90s crowded. Xmas/New Years Eve was the last time I ever did peak, off peak from then on out, when everything was walk on. But now it was as crowded as spring break summer during the 25th anniversary.
Reservations, so they knew where you were going, and what Disney hotel you were staying at, and when your ADRs and Genie+ was… …yet they STILL couldnt get a bus to your resort until 30-45 minutes.
Not gonna lie, that early entry is amazing. It’s the only way I’ve ever ridden slinky dog.
When I hear "no reservations," my brain goes straight to "the crowds are gonna be NUTS" rather than "yay, freedom to go whenever!:
This is the best news to ever be announced for our 2024 trip! So happy to see the Dining Plan back, it saves us so much stress.
You can park hop by walking to a bus from the park easy you don't need to park hop
I wonder if the park pass reservations leaving will also mean the end of park hopping only being able to start after a certain time?
Happy Tuesday, Y’all! 🎩🥂🖤
Extra snacks at the end of your stay means, snacks to go home with! Lots of candies to choose that travel well.
My friends and I were just there in December. I've never done the dinning plan but last time we bought snacks from Costco the day we arrived. We wound up shipping most of it back home. We hardly touched it, granted we bought more than we needed, but still.
i appreciate that the captioning is provided so that people who dont or cant hear the video can still get the info, but does the text have to appear in the middle of the screen?
Plus they can turn on closed captions. I hope this is not going to be a permanent thing.
I got so excited for accurate, on-screen subtitles....why only do the first minute??? They really help!
We were always Dining Plan people. The convenience of it alone was worth any extra cost. Plus we always made sure to use them all up. It's also nice to know your cost ahead of time. It shouldn't have taken this long for them to do this stuff. You were paying more and getting less imo. I'll be interested to see how they do the fastpass/Genie + update. Heard way too many people say they paid for Genie + only to not be able to get anything they wanted. We loved planning our day out ahead of time. Now does this mean we'll be go back anytime soon? Honestly, I doubt it but I dunno.
Do we know at this point if the lack of registrations for date based tickets means no more 2 o'clock limit on parkhopper? It's not often a huge deal, but staying at Beach Club it sure would be nice to be able to stroll through EPCOT grab a morning snack, and head to the monorail mid morning for MK.
I won’t be doing the DDP again. The last time, I had so many meals and snacks left over that, my last night, I converted everything to snacks, got the snacks at Main Street Confectionery, and gave them to a family that could not believe I was giving them like twelve big sugary snacks.
My friend went to Disney World three times during the last year, and every time he was able to get the Disney dining plan Plus, he has connections.
Your friend is lying.
We loved the DDP thanks to DFB tips to making the most of it so we are SO happy to have it back!! 😭😭❤️❤️ please do updated DDP videos next year once it’s in effect 🙂🤞
This was so informative! So glad the Dining plan is returning! Thank you!
When I had it with my friends in Feb of 2020 there were many snacks I wanted to try that weren't on the dining plan. We decided to go without the dining plan on our family vacation and I personally enjoyed having the freedom to choose what I wanted to eat and not worry about whether it was covered or not. :)
Considering my husband and I are planning on returning to WDW for a 2nd time early in 2024, having the dining plan available is going to be so good. We visited in Feb 2023 for our 1st time visit and now I'm hooked on WDW, I cannot wait to return!
Please do timestamps in your videos ❤️
So excited for the announcements! The Disney Dining Plan is super convenient , and I am travelling with a teenager , I will use it all !
Your video is so comprehensive!! Thank you!
OMG I can finally start thinking about booking my family vacations. Dinning plan is my must have for my family. We always stay 14 nights with 10 day park passes. Having a meal plan for all of our favorites is a must. I so prefer the deluxe plan so I may also have to hold on a little while until Deluxe plan is available again.P😮ark pass reservations have been the other reason we haven't been on a Disney vacation. We last visited in October 2019 just before the pandemic. For a family that has gone every two years since 1982 it has been so hard.
DFB YOU NOT ONLY MADE MY DAY BUT ALSO MY LIFE. LOVE GREAT NEWS.🎉😂❤😅🇨🇦👩🦼🙂🙃🍁
Do you think they will change the 2 pm park hoping rule? Would love to see this go as well.
No changes they make will EVER matter until people learn how to act, stop being rude and pushy, respect everyone around you.
Nice short video that's explains it all & gets to the point!
I'm so happy the DDP is coming back!! It's such peace of mind for me because it's already paid for and my husband loves it because he gets steak for dinner every night if he wants it.
I did Disney World in 2009 with the dining plan and this year without it. Definitely preferred not having it as it gave me the freedom to decide what to eat and where. And I am sure I saved money.
I can't figure out why there are all these people who can't wait to pay more for their food.
My two brothers have done the dinning plan and both said it was a waste of money.
@@elizabethmillinghausen7356 coming from the UK it seems to be a game changer booking DDP, as I've seen many other RUclipsrs state; however times have changed and as a newbie to Disney and even Universal I don't think it will be as beneficial as they hope for with the costs rising for everything. And I'm sure a lot of it is based on a set menu where things you want to try may be out of pocket any way.
Woot! This is what I have been waiting for.
We’re holding out for the deluxe one to come back so I hope they do that soon.
Dang it all.... going in Dec 23 and would change hotel but air fare would be lost. Have almost free first class due to delay flight. But good thing changes are coming.
Thank you 🙏 😊
Not a big fan of the dining plan. We tend to eat lighter meals therefore we lost money on the dining plan. We had better luck prepaying our meals AND merch by preloading Disney gift cards prior to our trip.
Just need the magic express back and i’m a happy camper!
Not that park pass reservations bothered me (saves getting turned away at the gate) but crowds are dropping now so not sure if they are so needed.
I never liked (or used) the DDP because I had to buy THE most expensive selections to come out ahead. Sometimes you just want a hot dog, you know? But if you use the DDP to buy that hot dog, and you just lost money. I'll buy my own meals, thank you. ---- BTW, I love the melon snowballs at the Japan area of Epcot. Try them with the sweet milk topping - they're great.
If you like sharing food, appetizers and entrees, a family will save a lot of $ over buying the DDP. And if you rarely buy desserts after a great meal, or maybe just one to share, it definitely is not worth the cost.
Good news BUT THE PRICE WILL TELL IF IT'S WORTH IT for the dining plan. Isn't there caveats that it depends on which evel hotel you stay at? Thought I read this
In general AJ enunciates very clearly and the auto captions work well. Absent that, those are not true captions and actually detract from the true accessibility of the video. There is a right way and a wrong way to add captions. DO NOT add them as distracting graphics of text in the center of the screen. Follow instructions for how to add proper captions to your videos if auto captions won’t suffice. (And in many situations, they don’t.) Do it right. Don’t be lazy.
those captions in the middle of the screen are super distracting
Agreed. If there have to be captions, please put them on the bottom of the screen!
Disagree. Middle captions is fine. Strange place? Sure. Can it be distracting? For some. But, having captions for important parts draws attention to how important it is.
@@dionsekone if I wanted to see captions I would enable closed captions, these are really distracting and are trying to be like TikTok/instagram videos
@@Mister_H That’s fair. Maybe they wanted to test something to see how the audience reacted. Maybe the next one they won’t doing it again. But, for me personally - I like the minor detail. I don’t mind it at all.
We always cashed out for snacks on our way out
Would it be possible for you to do a video about planning a 2024 trip before the May 31st date drop?
Hi I’m going to Disney world in November do I need park reservations if I have park hopper tickets?
I know I’m about to say an unpopular opinion, but I really hope that Genie + won’t work like old fast pass. (Although, I would love the same old price lol). It wasn’t that easy to deal with, there was a lot of rules: no overlapping of return time, tier A and B attractions in AK, HS and Epcot, you couldn’t get a fourth one until the first 3 were done (so basically, I got the Magic Carpet at 17h00 left…). Plus, I was staying at the resort, made my reservation the first day I could, there was no Slinky Dog or Flight of passage, until the last two days of my trip… I can’t imagine what was left for guesses outside the bubble…. I’m not saying Genie + is perfect, but I got to ride every thing in HS in one day, with an afternoon break during summer… I’m not sure that would have been possible with fast pass
I’m glad the dining plan is coming back but I’m mad that it’s after I just went a week ago
❤Amazing! Heloisa Have a nice week!
I’m feeling so hungry looking at those snacks! This is torture! 🤣🤣
Great news! I'll take it!
So does that mean that if you are staying in a non-Disney operated hotel you can't get the DDP?
Just a suggestion, maybe not add the random type sentences for captioning in the middle of the screen. If i want closed caption, i can turn it on, but i am not a fan of words rolling randomly in the middle of the screen. No shade, just my feedback. Thanks for the update on everything!!! I appreciate you guys so so much! ❤
Came here to say this. I really hope this doesn’t stick. I really hate random words in the middle of the screen.
Agreed
So if we get the dining plan and by a miracles chance they offer free dining for the time you’ve reserved but after you booked….would we be able to call and then get the dining plan for free and get the price adjusted?
Can I Just Say, I Love your video's alot, Your Subtiles/Closed Captions (c) is very distracting. I already watch all my RUclips Content with the offered option of Subtitles, & you're video's are cool in their production, Thanks, & I am huge fan and have been for years🥰
I agree. The words popping up is super distracting. If I want subtitles, just upload a subtitle file with the video.
Seems like if you are 21+ you can use it on alcoholic drinks? That could make it more worth it. Also not totally clear on if I were to book my on-property hotel through something like Priceline and then get my park tickets from Undercover Tourist, link them, and then modify it to add the dining plan? Could that work?
Can you have dietary restrictions and still use/benefit from DDP?
6:09 omggg I’m craving Mickey waffles so bad I must return to Disney world 🏰🪄
The news I'm waiting for is (1) Disney is back to compensating every guest on or about to board any ride that breaks down for lost park time, and (2) Disney is back to enforcing their rules (kids on shoulders, selfie sticks, running, flash photos on dark rides, etc.).
I wish this started for Nov 2023. Will there be any deals for Nov 5 to 11 2023
I actually really don't want them to bring back advanced reservations. That system was actively worse for guests, especially the once in a lifetime visitors.
If the kid is too young to even need a park ticket do you still have to get them a dining plan ticket? I would assume not right? And does it apply to neighboring hotels that still allow early park access but aren't necessarily disney?
Can't contain myself right now 😭🎉
just bought the 1 day tickets to Epcot for late July and the reservation automatically done for us, is that the new?
Is the Disney Dining plan worth it for solo travelers?
Does anyone else find this captions so distracting?
Finally!!!
hi , in the uK they sell tickets that are valid for 7 or 14 days , can you find out if we need the park pass, thanks , love your videos
Yes in the UK you still need to book your daily park pass online
loving the new captions! I have auditory issues and this makes it so much easier❤️
Didt like all the subtitles on the video,at the beginning, thought my kids had put the subtitles on for RUclips 😂
restore the earlier DDP over a reasonable period of time _or_ an outside business can run the other options for now.
Idk if it’s just my decrepit brain, but the way the subtitles are presented is confusing me somehow. I think it’s the animation and the way the words are individually sweeping onto the screen. I think if each word just appeared normally or if the whole line showed up at once it would be great, but the sliding is apparently too much for my brain to handle lol
So cool 😎
So is the plan the same or did they really make it 1 snack now?
Yay!!🎉🎉
You dont need to park hop just walk to a transportation and get on a motor coach
January 2024 is not soon. We're going to WDW this November and I'd love to have the Dining Plan in place
I really don't understand why everyone wants and is excited for the return of the dining plan. AJ even said in most cases you're LOSING money! If everyone wants to set a budget ahead of time for dining, the SMART thing to do would be to buy a gift card ahead of time (even better if you're a Target cardholder and get 5% back) and use that to put your dining budget on.
So a regular family planning a trip for March 2024 won't need park reservations.
Park Pass Reservation will be gone for tickets only. Not passholders. You need to be specific in your title, so you do not give passholders’ hope up. We still have the after 2pm rule, except for MK on weekends.
Yaaay !!! I'll go on a trip at disney in 2025 with my best friend, i'm so happy that the dining plan will be back 🤩🤩🤩
I feel like you’re missing a pretty large thing here with regards to the relaunch of the dining plan. From what I’ve read it’s been scaled back quite a bit. Last time I bought it it included an alcoholic beverage with a sit down meal and 2 snacks. Now it’s stating 1 snack or non alcoholic beverage and nothing about drinks with meals. For me it’s going to have to be pretty competitively priced for that, but no prizes for anticipating that it most certainly won’t be 🤣
Alcoholic beverages are included for table service. The only thing that is different is that it is one snack now instead of two.
@@kaethiboldeaux8792 Thanks Kae! Didn’t see that.
FINALLY‼‼‼‼‼‼
Not for me but I like this model because it gives people who want it the option but doesn’t force it on anyone.
This why although I love cruising I stopped cruising. I am not a big eater and it makes me crazy that the people at the next table order multiple appetizers and entrees per person and yet I am charged the same!? I am not judging them - I just think it is unfair we are charged the same. I have a GI condition and simply the end would not be good if I ordered 4 entrees and then got slices of pizza late night.
We're going to Disney, babe.
Will extended hours still be open to swan and dolphin in 2024?
I never understood why Disney never sold passes for specific dates, vs they way they've always been doing it. Disney isn't exactly the place where most people just wake up one day and decide to go same day. Unless you live in state or nearby and have a short drive, the rest of us plan these trips months in advance.
Yikes! Can the closed captions be at the bottom and not in the middle of the screen, in an intermittent pattern? It was really distracting
Does this go for Disneyland as well?
This just applies to WDW for now it appears.
I knew you’d be so happy about this lmao
They're missing the deluxe Dining Plan why let's just half bring it back
❤
The captions are awesome. Not too overwhelming and is perfect to emphasize important parts of the video.
This is the best news since Disney reopened in 2020!!!!!!!
Does a park can reach peak capacity and you not be possible to answer even if you had bought a ticket before hand tho?
The "return" comes with caveats tho...they seem to want you to only have the dining plan if you have booked an entire vacation plan for resort stay (resort, tickets and dining plan). What if you are doing a resort stay, but have military tickets? Can we get the dining plan? Seems like we cannot. Also the park reservation system, seems to only be not a thing if you have dated tickets. But if like us, you have the military tickets, it seems we will still have to use the reservation system next year...
I'm gonna be honest. I don't understand why anyone cares about the disney dining plan. As mentioned in the video, it rarely actually saves you money. The only advantage is you can pay ahead of time, but at that point, why not buy disney gift cards instead? That way you have your budget before your trip and often you can get deals/ discounts on those gift cards
Are these cards available to purchase from the UK, do you know?
Bring back Free Dining Disney :(
There have been a lot of complaints by Disney guests. They are changing some things back due to disney travelers being aggravated.I still wish that magical express would return.
Not a fan of the words popping up as you talk
Y’all are spending way too much on Disney food. 😅 can’t imagine spending that much on food and at the resorts.
First comment!! Awesome vid❤
Oof I’m late I’m usually early
Please don’t make text supers out of AJ’s lines anymore. That’s super annoying.
Hopefully they will stop all the alcohol consumption too....walt was totally against drunks and yet that's what Disney has become DRUNKS even at Magic Kingdom
They need to do a lot more to get me to go back and spend thousands....like get rid of the annoying social media attention seekers and constant youtubers evading our privacy....drunks everywhere.....sky high room rates.....pools closed before you get back to room at 10pm. Etc etc....trams gone leave people with disabilities to walk ridiculous lengths to get to entrance in 90 degree heat....list goes on and on of what disney needs to change
