you should go to a few local butchers and compare their prices and quality to current supermarkets.

I started going back to the butcher and you get a better choice over a year ago and you save some money a wee bit of beef is better than some cheaper stuff and taste better 🐝🐝

Hi keith and nat 👋 😊
I do love lamb, it certainly is a treat these days. Haven't had it in a very long time. Those chicken tempura looked good too, looked like genuine chicken and not that processed rubbish. Wouldn't mind trying those. ❤

Did them steaks on a charcoal BBQ with maple wood chips (i think). marrinated in olive oil, rosemary (i know you dont like it... you heathen you 🤣) and garlic. Cooked so as a good vet could bring it back round. Bootiful 👌.
keep the ideas coming matey 👍

Marinate these lamb steaks in some extra virgin olive oil, rosemary, garlic and lemon juice for a few hours. The marinade will help tenderise the meat. Before frying in a hot pan season generously with sea salt and cracked black pep. Serve with some roasted new potatoes tossed in fresh mint and butter once cooked. Little side of greek salad with feta sprinkled over the top. Unreal. Not much different to what youve done, just slightly elevated.

@@Tee-B Don't need that. If you cook them medium rare on a pan like you would do a beef ribeye steak they come out suculent and tender.

That Aldi lamb's always a bit fatty and does come in bits like that I find, but for the price I actually think it's alright. Not a patch on proper stuff but nothing like as expensive either 😆

Hi Keith n Nat. Keith, you're talking about the fat like it's a bad thing? Lamb fat tastes absolutely amazing. No better tasting thing than lamb fat for me. I buy the lamb breast as it's around 60-70% fat n it's just heaven on a plate. I have it once a month. About £7.50 n there's about 8 times more than what you've got there for £4. I either roast it up crispy or cook for 3 hours in stock with vegetables. My favourite meal of all. That lamb you had there looked bloody gorgeous. Lamb without fat just isn't the same. I find it dull when it's lean. I could just eat lamb now..😊

Yeah the fatty piece was hidden under the label. I've wised up to their tricks and have a really good look before I purchase prepackaged meat.
You could've added crushed garlic and a pinch of Italian herbs to the pan. Lamb is good to cook with as it takes on the flavour of whatever you add to it.
Slow cooked lamb currys are wonderful too.
Those 3 step flavour pots you bought a little while ago would be ideal for the lamb steaks. Yes lamb is expensive, but if you cook it right you'll have a delicious meal.
    Cheers Keith and Nat 👍🤤😀

    Hi Keith
Lamb leg steaks need much more cooking than beef steaks . They are good for long slow curry type dishes , eg with spinach or Okra especially good but add okra etc last minute .

Lamb is a fatty meat. In the middle ages the fat was collected and lights were made out of the fat called 'dips'. Must have stunk a bit. If you do not like fat buy chicken- or go vegan of course! A butcher's lamb meat still has fat as I recall from years ago.
